What Do You Have In Your Hand?

The crowd gets a little bit bigger when Sabbath school is over, huh?

Some of you guys like to sleep in a little bit?

It's alright, I understand, I understand.

I come on behalf of Southeastern California Conference Evangelism Department.

I'm really excited to be with you here today, because I believe powerful things are happening here in Southeastern California Conference.

How many of you have, by any chance, heard of a program called GLOW?

If you want to get involved, an opportunity will happen just on Monday nights.

We're having our annual GLOW in the Dark event.

We know that Monday night is a night often associated with darkness, being Halloween night, but we want to invite you to do something better with your time.

So if you would like to be a participant of the glow in the dark annual rally, go ahead and go to seccglow.com for more information and we'd like to have as many people as possible.

Last year we passed out somewhere around 13, 000 tracks in 1 evening and this is with people who weren't necessarily trained, didn't really know what to do and friends you and I can be a part of that.

So we want to invite you to that just as a way of introduction.

But before we begin, let's go ahead and pray.

Father in heaven, thank you so much for the Sabbath.

Thank you that today we can gather together and we can seek to hear your voice.

Father, it is our desire that this morning that you may be exalted, and Father, we may more fully comprehend who you are and our mission as your people.

Lord, I ask and I pray for clarity of mind.

I pray for clarity of speech for each and every 1 of us, Father.

Help the message that is communicated today not to be a message that has been crafted by human inventions, but Father, may it be a message from your throne.

So Lord, as distracted as we may be from the week, as cluttered as our minds may be at this moment, maybe we're running late or maybe we're worried about something at home, Lord, for this moment, clear our minds and may we connect with you.

What is something that you are afraid of?

Something that just absolutely terrifies you.

Anyone want to be brave and suggest something?

I see Adam and Hope doesn't like to participate, huh?

I absolutely know what you're talking about.

Even just 1 time, that's the worst that could happen, right?

Okay, what is something you're afraid of?

Okay, what's something that you're afraid of?

You got a bunker under your house or something?

Okay, maybe when we finish paying off medical school, right?

Endlessly falling, knowing there is going to be an end in eternity.

Endlessly falling, but knowing that there's an end.

So it's not really endlessly falling then, right?

Have you ever had those dreams where you're just falling and falling and falling and then you wake up right on the side of your bed and then you actually fall off?

It's a great climax to a dream, I'll tell you.

Something you remember the rest of the day.

What's something else that you're afraid of?

Afraid of the process of dying or afraid of death itself?

For those of us who have lost loved ones, that is a very painful thing, but we have the reassurance that we'll see him again soon.
