You are about to enjoy a presentation recorded at the 2024 Michigan Conference Camp Meeting held at Cedar Lake, Michigan.

We pray that the Lord will bless you as you listen.

Father God, in the name of Jesus, I ask you to hide me in the shadow of your cross.

I pray God that you would hang your face on me so that as your people look to you and your word they may see Jesus today and not me.

Have your way in this place God in your precious name.

I sing the mighty power of God that made the mountains rise, spread the flowing seas abroad, and built the lofty skies.

I sing the wisdom that ordained the sun to rule the day, the moon shines full at his command, and all the stars obey.

I sing the goodness of the Lord that filled the earth with food.

He formed the creatures, that's you and me, with His Word and then pronounced them Good.

Come on, y'all gonna worship today, aren't you?

I could tell, I could tell, I could tell.

Lord, how your wonders are displayed, where'er I turn my eye.

If I survey the ground, I tread, or gaze upon the sky.

The goodness of God is evident in the world, amen?

These memorable lines first penned by the noted hymn writer Sir Isaac Watts in 1715 tell a truth that remains undeniable even 6, 000 years after sin.

Well, Michigan Conference, the truth is this, the mighty acts of God are still resident and evident in time and space today.

In every flower that blooms, in every seedling that buds, in every baby that coos, look close enough, ponder it long enough, and what happens is that thing that Jesus said and that God has demonstrated and that is I'm still God all by myself Ellen White writes in the book Desire of Ages page 70 from his earliest years that is she speaks of Jesus he was possessed of 1 purpose he lived to bless others for this this blessing of others he found resources in nature new ideas and ways and means fleshed into his mind as he studied plant life and animal life.

God's revelation of himself, his deity, his purpose, and his plan is something on which he spares absolutely no effort.

He has given to human beings what is called general revelation.

That's nature, the heavens that declare the glory of God and firmament that shows us handiwork.

They, unto they, shouts at us that God is legit, that God is real.

Human beings are without excuse, says Romans chapter 1 and verse 20, because the the earth demonstrates that there is a God.

Not only are we the beneficiaries of God's general revelation, but we also have the benefit of what's called special revelation.

The miraculous ways in which God has chosen to reveal himself in the world.

It was God who created the world by the word of his mouth.

It was God who commanded and the Holy Spirit on the toes of his quickness catches the let there be of God and brings it into existence God speaks and stuff happens I want you to know today God still speaks and things happen Mmm the mighty mighty acts of our God that's psalm 33 in verse 9 he commands and it stands fast he flooded the world with water but kept Noah and a floating zoo alive he shot plagues like weapons of mass destruction at Egypt until Pharaoh let his people go but insulated the Israelites from those plagues.

He parted the Red Sea so that Israel walked the cross on dry land.

He swallowed up Pharaoh and his army so that Israel, Exodus 14 and verse 30, so that the people of God saw Pharaoh and his army dead upon the seashore.

40 years with no McDonald's and no Burger King.

He was the cafe in the chaos of the wilderness.

He was the clothier who wrapped them in garments that did not wear out.

He was the cobbler who put shoes on their feet that did not need replacing.

He was the pillar of cloud by day and the fire by night.

You knew he was around when you saw that fire, when you saw that cloud by day.

Ancient Israelites would regale their children with stories of axe heads that float and stairways that go to heaven and city walls that fall down and fireproof young men who don't burn And they don't even smell like smoke Somebody in here knows what it is to go into something messed up and come out of it because of God.

I Met a young man here not too long ago who tells me he had something like what 20 years in the military my brother 8 tours blown up hip replacements and he's here serving the Lord today I'm talking about going in and coming out because of God that's what God can do the mighty acts of God ancient Israel will tell their children of a man that appears in the fire with the 3 Hebrew worthies and the Bible says he looks like the Son of God.

They would talk about barren women that had babies and politicians who use lions as pillows at night.

They would talk about a big fish submarine stories and sun and moon that stand still and fire cascading down from heaven that consumed the sacrifice and licked up all the surrounding water." They would talk about a general cured of leprosy at the word of a little girl, a fiery serpent that you could look at on a pole and be healed.

Do you talk about his goodness in the earth?

They would talk about fledgling armies of 300 outnumbered 450 to 1, yet Gideon and his army defeats a hundred and thirty-five thousand people, blowing horns instead of fighting.

They would regale each other after listening to all of that, after growing up with that in your ear every day, there would be really 1 mistakable, 1 unimpeachable, 1 unmistakable conclusion, and that is God did it.

It was God who floated the axe head, and God who insulated those boys in that furnace, and God who gave Hannah a baby, and God who shut the lion's mouth it was God who sent that big fish for Jonah it was God who fed him drought in the wilderness God cured Naaman and God fought for Gideon God God did it God did it put some respect on his name God did it God brought the dead back to life when they dropped a dead man in Elisha's tomb God did it it was God all the time it was God ever being good and it will always be God Whenever we see the mighty acts of God in the world, we ought to give God praise and give him glory and tell everybody in sight God did it.

Above our human agendas, above our human ideas, above our human sophistry, above our human foolishness, God.

God's special revelation not only lifted ancient Israelites, it also uplifted and buoyed the hopes of the early Christian Church.

The fledgling early church now, after Jesus has ascended, had something else in its possession.

It didn't just have, you know, general revelation, it didn't just have special revelation of God's act, it had ultimate revelation, it had Jesus Christ himself.

They had what is called the ultimate revelation, Jesus, Savior of the world.

Hebrews chapter 1 verses 1 and 2 says, God who at sundry times and in diverse places and manners spake in times past unto the fathers by the prophets, but in these last days, in these last days he has spoken to us by his son Jesus Christ whom he at the point in air of all things by whom all the worlds were created Jesus blessed Redeemer sent from the very heart of God has provided for us the ultimate revelation.

Family of God, are you thankful for Jesus?

The mighty exponent of God's righteousness, His healing power now has a face.

God's transforming power now has arms that can hold the laws.

God's expulsive power of the devil now has a being that can walk and talk with humanity and be close to humanity.

Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law, the deaf mute at Decapolis, the paralytic at Bethesda, the blind man at Bethsaida.

He healed the demoniacs of Gadara, the woman with the issue of blood, Jairus' daughter, and the 10 lepers.

He fed 5000, not counting women and children with a little boy's lunch, put tribute money, tax money in the mouth of a fish.

Jesus raised a widow's son from Nain, 1 of my favorite stories.

The Bible says in Luke chapter 7 that as they were coming down from Nain, Jesus was coming up to meet them.

And you know what happens when a warm front meets a cold front.

The last vestige of the husband that that woman loves.

The Bible says she was a widow and the scripture says that when Jesus saw her, his guts, that's what the original language says, his guts went out to her.

He took hold of her, walks over there and touches the coffin.

You know, if you mess around and die, the Saints gonna bury you.

Let me be clear, we have buried many alive young person because they looked dead.

Y'all didn't hear what I said, I said we are buried some people just cuz they looked at That young boy was dead and But Jesus that day said I'm gonna do a little youth ministry In this moment, the Bible says he touches the coffin.

It was forbidden for rabbis to touch dead things, but he who is life cannot be contaminated by death.

He was going to contaminate that death with his life, and in that moment Jesus touches that child and calls him back to life.

Oh the best kind of youth ministry is that which calls young people back to life, calls them back to the God who they're supposed to be, puts them back in their right identity and sends them on their way to God.

Jesus, the mighty revelation of God, comes down to earth in human flesh and presents to us the love of God.

But by far, the greatest act ever recorded in human history happened 1 Friday afternoon like the 1 that's about to come today when he laid down his life at a ransom for the sins of the world and and and led captivity captive and is now mediating on behalf of all of us in the heavenly sanctuary.

Early believers in the fledgling church tickled their young ones ears with the mighty acts of God's Son, Jesus Christ.

But Michigan Conference, I want to tell you this morning, you would be sadly mistaken if you labor under the illusion today that God's mighty actions in the world are simply to titillate you.

If you believe that God's doing stuff just so that you can open your mouth and be in awe, you would be mistaken.

Ellen White says that Jesus never did a single miracle to bring attention to himself.

He was always up to something deeper, something bigger, something more important, something salvific.

And the mighty acts of God in the world are not to tickle your fancy." She writes, he hath given men mysteries to command their faith.
