You are about to enjoy a presentation recorded at the 2024 Michigan Conference Camp Meeting held at Cedar Lake, Michigan.

We pray that the Lord will bless you as you listen.

Father in Heaven, thank you for your incredible mercy and grace.

Thank you for your loving kindness that is better than life.

Thank you for who you are and you train and teach our souls to align with heaven as Your Spirit fills us.

May we understand, may we respond, and may we prepare for Your presence and Your coming.

So bless us now as we open your word up our minds and hearts.

We've been going through various aspects of prayer in the context of P-R-A-Y, praise, repent, ask, and Yield.

And in the specific context of praying in the sanctuary and why it's important, praying prophetically and why it's important.

And I'm going to touch on that again from yesterday and then we're going to move on to praying acts to promises in other words and you will see why this is critical in my humble opinion I believe because the Bible has promised a early and a Latter rain and so early in a letter and we should anticipate a Latter rain, We should be preparing and praying for that latter rain.

But let's just touch and wrap up a few things from yesterday and move on a little bit.

So those of you that maybe for the first time you're here, I'm just going to wrap up this once more.

So if we move on to the next slide, which is just the summary again for those of you that may not have been here for the weekend, maybe just for the first time.

I challenged someone this morning to say, just focus on praise.

Spend a portion, maybe before your devotion, just in praise.

Because if you put all of these together, we tend to the asking because that's really what our desires are.

And so put a portion just for praise, have your devotions, and then go to the repent and asking all the rest.

But for the soul it has to learn how to praise God period, nothing else.

And then the rest will also come when you've focused on God and praise, repentance is natural as well as the asking what He wants and so on.

So we have to train the soul to focus on God first and so if you're struggling with spending time in praise, block out a section of your devotions to just simply praise Him for who He is, period.

And then go on and then continue with the rest.

So praise God for who He is, not for what He's done for you because then it's focused on you again.

Okay, repentance, letting God reclaim control over our lives.

Asking is reflecting God's continued control over us as we want and value what He wants to give us, we begin to ask rightly what He wants, not what we want.

You start by asking like a servant to a master.

And by the way, when you're not sure, how do you know when to be a servant and he to be the master, or when for you to be a child and him to be the father, or when he calls you a friend?

How do you know when to pray those kind of prayers?

Well, when you're confused and you don't know, be a servant.

When His Holy Spirit is knocking on your door and saying, I need to correct this in your life.

And when He shows you something that's clear what to do, and you understand it, that could become an invitation to friendship.

So the asking starts with, especially when things are confusing, as a he is master, I don't understand everything, I'm going to surrender as a servant to a master, and so on.

And Yielding at the end is saying, wow, God, I'm not going to walk away from you.

I'm not going to say thanks for all that you've done.

And I'll see you tomorrow or see you later tonight.

No, In focusing on God, the soul naturally wants to participate with who he is and what he wants.

And so yielding is saying, God, I'm ready by your grace and mercy.

Now that you have shown and filled me by your grace and mercy, I want to be ready for you to use me as you choose.

And the reason I like to refer to this is because if you understand who God is, His attributes, we will align our attitudes correctly.

It's sometimes we walk into God's presence so casually and, you know, I'm a friend with God and so I can just chat like I want.

Often we have this missed connection of God because we have assumptions rather than understanding in prayer of who he actually is.

Now I do believe God wants you to walk in the street.

Hey God, thank you for this incredible day.

So there are moments just to have this, hey, wow, God, I need you now because I'm in trouble and this, you know, it's coming at me right now.

So God is not, there's not a formula prayer, it's a connection prayer.

But unless you understand who He is, you might connect wrongly with your attitude.

And that's why I'm saying your attitude should connect with His attributes when you understand who He is.

Okay, so yesterday we ended with prophetic praying, and 1 of the questions I was asking is When you think of prophecy, as good Seminar Adventists, we talk about the signs of the times.

But which signs was Jesus most interested in?

All the catastrophes and all the falling of the stars and the earthquakes and the things.

So prophecy, what's the difference with prophecy and people that claim to tell the future?

Like fortune tellers or others, what's the difference?

The difference is knowing the will of God.

The will of God is revealed in prophecy to us.

And so when we understand God wants to give us something, He wills it so that we can understand it, endure it, and prepare for it, and remain standing during and after it.

Now 1 of the things that is very important is that God has told us about many disasters that are going to happen.

So why are we surprised when they happen?

Like it's the end of the world, and he says it's not the end of the world because the end of the world does not come with disaster.

It's a disaster for those that are not ready, but for us that are ready, it's not a disaster.

And so in this journey comes this experience.

And yes, there is all of these things that a servant is ready for his master's coming and so on.

Now, I want to say this, that if a servant is ready for his master's coming, do you think that the Holy Spirit's coming before the master comes is part of the master's plan and coming?

So when I'm a servant looking for the Master's coming, does it make any sense that, oh, here's a disaster, He's coming.
