Creation vs Evolution

As we as a Christian life sometimes is very difficult to understand in Fact it is the misunderstanding of life why so many walk away from the faith In a series we're going to do now a big part of what we're trying to do is to help give an understanding that helps make this painful and difficult life at least, if not understandable, bearable.

So we're gonna deal with a very controversial, challenging subject in our next series here.

But I do wanna just thank our church for the way that we have rallied together around some of the recent things.

The devil does not like what happens at 3 Angels Church.

Does not like that we have preachers that preach present truth, that we seek to worship God in spirit and in truth and not really just as a show.

And so for that reason, our families will come under attack.

We will see sickness come into our families, we will see financial issues, our marriages will be strained, our children will sometimes rebel, sometimes cooperate, but the enemy's going to throw everything he has at us.

We have only 1 real way to combat that, and that is to rest in the arms of Christ.

It is to trust him more as life gets more difficult.

It is to use the 1 offensive weapon we have in our arsenal.

And that is the sword of the Word of God.

So we preach based on that word, sola scriptura, the Bible and the Bible alone.

For that reason, when we speak and preach, we will be challenged.

Because there are a lot of folk who want us distracted by politics and partisanism and cultural phenomenon.

The world is slipping away right before our eyes.

The prophecies are beyond just being fulfilled.

We are now seeing that some of the prophecies we looked for are behind us.

And yet so many who know this truth are still asleep.

Our scripture reading, as was so wonderfully read by our young sister today.

Isaiah 40 and verse 28 says this, "'Hast thou not known, have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, The creator of the ends of the earth does not faint.

There is no searching of his understanding.

He does not faint and he doesn't get tired.

We will never fully understand Him completely.

Our sermon series that we start now is Creation vs.

This is part 1 and it's called Origin Stories.

Father God, We thank you for this opportunity now to study a word Lord we come before you today in Seriousness and solemnity Lord Knowing that the enemy is angry But right now We claim the blood of Jesus Christ Right now we bind Satan by the power of the Holy Ghost and by the blood that was shed on Calvary and we cast him away from this church, he and his demons.

And Lord, I don't just want him cast away from this church, cast him out of our homes, cast him away from our families.

And Lord, as we go into your word today, let me not be the 1 speaking instead father let us hear a word from you today it's a serious subject matter that I am not competent to fully explain so we're asking for an extra outpouring of your holy spirit that he might lead us into all truth is our prayer in Jesus's precious and holy name.

We're gonna go to the beginning, the book of Genesis and every time we do this we'll look at a different day of creation And so we start at the very beginning.

It is the verse upon which the entire Bible in many ways is based.

If this verse is not true, how can you trust anything you read hereafter?

And here is why this series is being preached because the world has tried to convince us that God is not real.

That we are the products of chance and accident.

That in fact what we did is win a cosmic lottery that there is even life on earth.

It is 1 of the greatest lies ever told, 1 of Satan's greatest deceptions, and demons empower those who support this doctrine, this false doctrine called evolution.

And I have been publicly attacked because of my belief that God created the world.

And 1 of the largest newspapers in the world when I was holding a scientific position on the West Coast, They said Eric Walsh should never hold a scientific position in the United States of America.

Number 1 reason, that editorial writer for the Los Angeles Times put was, he believes God created the world.

In fact, when you look at last day prophecy and the fact that there is going to be a time of trouble, do not be mistaken.

Although the Sabbath is where the linchpin is, it is the question as to whether or not God is the sovereign creator of the universe that is most in question and how he is worshipped is the question upon which they will persecute.

So Genesis chapter 1 and verse 1 begins this way, in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

The Bible does not leave any room for confusion.

And anyone who speaks against it, speaks against God.

I'm going to show you, it goes deeper than just that.

But let me show you what the rest of this day in creation says.

The Bible says, and the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Here we have the third part of the Godhead in the creation story, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

I will show you that all 3 aspects of the Godhead were at the creation.

And when God stepped out, he stepped out onto nothing.

A formless world is what is spoken of here, and from this all things were created.

And we'll talk about this as we go through the series.

There is an importance in understanding from a scientific perspective the law of causality.

You cannot get the universe without a cause.

That cause must be greater than the universe.

Evolution speaks contrary to the laws of physics.

We'll talk later about the first and second laws of thermodynamics.

If you understand them, and especially that second law which talks about entropy, once you understand it, you realize the world is not evolving, it's devolving.

It is not becoming more ordered, it is becoming more chaotic.

And this we know is the result of sin entering the universe.

Once you understand that, you understand you are on a ship that is sinking.

That even if these people who now do this age and regenerative medicine were to figure out a way for you to live 100 or 200 or 300 years, you'd still be living in a world that cannot last forever.

And if God did not create the first world, there is no hope for us that he will create the next 1.

Hence, this issue is a spiritual issue and I'm going to show you that all of the great proponents of false teaching line up behind evolution.

Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Verse 3, and God said, let there be light.

Now I want you to get something, we'll talk more about it later on, but notice that light is created before the sun is.

Light is created before the sun is because God did not need the sun to generate light.

Hence, all of the centuries of sun worship were always misguided.

Satan always pointed people to worship the sun on the day of the sun because God is the originator of light.

Verse 4, and God saw the light that it was good.

God divided the light from the darkness and God called the light day and the night and the darkness he called night and the evening and the morning were the first day.

1 of the challenges that they bring against the creation story is the idea that there's no way that in 24 hours these things could have been created.

That in fact, it would have had to have happened over millions of years.

I wanna submit to you as we go through the Bible, the Bible does not teach any other time frame than 6 literal days.

And once you understand that, you understand that God had to be the 1 who created.

And it is why the evolutionists push for billions and billions of years.

But I will show you in a later talk that in fact statistically speaking and based on what the evolutionists say, even billions of years would not have been enough time for the universe to come together by chance.

It is all a lie and a great deception that in fact if you look at the words of the evolutionists themselves, including Charles Darwin, who we'll get more into today, you find that there are holes and missing pieces, often called missing links.

Can you imagine at the end of the first day, there's no sun, no moon, no stars yet, yet the world is divided, light and dark, morning and evening, and God is standing there.

And you've got to understand that what God was putting in place at least the way I See it as a scientist God was putting into place not just light, but he had to put into place all that light meant.

The Seduction of False Science

Jesus said some things come only by prayer and fasting If we do not have a strong active prayer life individually and collectively we will not stand in these last days.

So, I do wanna pitch to everyone, even if it's once a month, stop by prayer meeting, come and bring your burdens and let's leave them on the altar and together pray for 1 another.

We're going to go our scripture reading as was read so well by Donny, is 1 Timothy 6, 20 and 21.

It says, Oh Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and feign babblings and oppositions of science, falsely so called, which some professing have erred concerning the faith.

Our message this Sabbath, the second part in our Creation vs.

Evolution series is entitled, The Seduction of False Science.

Let's pray father God we thank you for this opportunity to to study a word to look at these truths.

I pray once again Lord that you just make me a nail on the wall.

A rusty sorry nail Lord and upon that nail, I ask that you hang a portrait of Jesus Christ.

There's no reason for me to be seen or heard today.

It's our prayer in Jesus's precious and holy name.

If you have your Bible, go with me to the book of Exodus.

We're gonna come out of Exodus a bit to begin with.

We're gonna go into some of some some biological science today.

Stuff that I enjoyed when I was in college.

And then we're gonna bring this into some of the prophecies of the times in which we live.

So we have a lot to cover, and so we're gonna move quickly.

Exodus chapter 5 and verse 1 sets the stage.

You would remember that the children of Israel were in slavery in Egypt.

Moses was born and sent down the river and Pharaoh's daughter plucks him out.

He's raised in Pharaoh's house the first 40 years of his life.

Many say he was a general and may even have been in line for the throne of Pharaoh, some argue.

Either way, when he thought it was his time to liberate his people, he slew an Egyptian, and then became a fugitive and ran.

If you remember Moses ran into the wilderness.

So, here's where the story gets interesting.

Moses begins his actual ministry at 80 years of age.

Somebody ought to say amen for everybody that says it's too late to do something.

He sees a burning bush, he talks with God, he gives God his reservations, He's worried about what he would do, but God encourages him and Moses is sent back to the land he escaped for his life.

And The Pharaoh now is a different person than the 1 he would have left the 40 years earlier.

And the Bible says, And Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a fast unto me in the wilderness.

Who is the Lord that I should obey his voice to let Israel go?

I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.

This confrontation, this juxtaposition, this clash of cultures and civilizations, Moses stands there backed by the God of the universe.

And of course, he is quite offended by the idea that he would be asked to let his slaves go who have been building him pyramids and sphinxes and all kinds of stuff.

Who is the Lord that I should obey His voice to let Israel go?

Let me tell you that this Statement echoes with prophetic power as we will see in a minute.

It is relevant to what's going on in the world today You jump to Exodus chapter 7 in verse 1 And the story I want to give you today is a story that we you can often read through quickly.

It's quite an interesting story, but there's a lot of power to this story Exodus chapter 7 and verse 1 says this and the Lord said unto Moses see I have made thee a God to Pharaoh and Aaron thy brother shall be a prophet.

Thou shall speak all that I command thee and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh that he send the children of Israel out of his land.

This is the tough 1 a lot of people have when they read this story.

And I will harden Pharaoh's heart and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

So people say, well if God is the 1 hardening Pharaoh's heart, how can Pharaoh be held responsible?

But if you read the verse carefully, the answer to the question is in the very verse.

Verse 3, And I will harden Pharaoh's heart by multiplying my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

It wasn't that God reached in and hardened Pharaoh's heart.

All God had to do to a man so narcissistic that he thought he was divine was to show him actual divine manifestation.

And the more Pharaoh saw the divine manifestation of the living God, the more his heart was hardened.

There are those that as they see God and see him lifted up, when they see the evidences of God as he moves on this earth, they are not softened by it, they are hardened by it.

And 1 of the reasons that the end time church, the God's remnant church, the commandment keeping people of God will be so hated is that when the world sees the miracle of conversion and sanctification in the lives of God's end time church, listen, they will be hardened against us and persecution will ensue.

Verse 4, But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay my hand upon Egypt, and bring forth mine armies, and my people the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them." How did God do this?

I won't get into the plagues today except to tell you this He's also going to use plagues at the end of time.

In fact, there were 10 plagues for Egypt, but in Revelation it says there are 7 last plagues.

And the reason I believe, 1 of the reasons I believe that's the case is the first 3 plagues on Egypt the Egyptians and the children of Israel can get.

It was only the 7 last plagues in Egypt that only affected the Egyptians, just as the 7 last plagues of Revelation will only affect the wicked.

Let me tell you something, I do not want to be a part of those 7 last plagues.

There will be a lot of people who will conform to the world.

They will do what the world says do because it is easier and more convenient.

Even some who we have seen be very dedicated to the cause of Christ will switch up because they do not want to deal with not being able to buy and sell.

They will receive the mark of the beast for the convenience of their homes and their cars.

But then when the plagues begin to fall, they will realize they have gotten a bum deal.

If you trade it in comfort now for plagues later.

Exodus 7 and verse 6, and Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded them.

Racial Divide or Divine Unity

So in a world where love is often bartered and controlled.

It is a good thing to know that God loves us unconditionally And it doesn't matter how far from him we may have gone, he still loves us.

And that is the hope of salvation and the reason I'm a Christian.

Because of what God does for us all the time.

Alright, we are gonna get right into this today.

Our Scripture reading is taken from Romans chapter 10.

We're going to read verses 11 through 13.

I know some of you may not have been to church here before, or maybe not been to church in a while.

It's a tough topic we're going to deal with today, but we're going to ask the Holy Spirit to lead us as we go through it.

Romans 10, 11-13 says this, For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek.

For the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be what?

Our message today, our creation versus evolution, third part, racial divide or divine unity.

Let's pray, Father God, we thank you for this opportunity once again to study a word and to study truth.

Lord, once again I ask that you make me just a nail on the wall, a rusty, sorry nail, Lord.

But upon that nail I ask that you hang a portrait of Jesus Christ.

Instead, Father, let us hear a word from the throne room of grace.

And Lord, as we deal with these difficult subjects, help us to realize, Lord, that nothing is too difficult for You.

This is our prayer in Jesus' precious and holy name, amen.

So, as we've done, we're going to go back to Genesis chapter 1.

And I'm just going to read 1 of the undergirding principle which guides our belief as Christians is that God created the world.

And in order to believe that, you must believe the first 3 chapters of the book of Genesis.

Those 3 chapters are under fire constantly.

I grew up, I went to Bloomfield Public Schools growing up, and I was taught evolution over and over and over again.

Fortunately, I went to church on Sabbath and heard another side of it, and later on went to a Christian college and really got someone to teach the science that makes Christianity and creationism make more sense.

He does not want you to believe that God is the creator of the universe.

He does not want you to believe that because then you have to ask the question.

Why did God create me and once you begin to ask that question now comes in purpose and now you begin to understand that there is a connection God is desired to have with you that is powerfully pure and holy that if you can make that connection, you don't just get this life by God's grace.

So in the beginning Genesis 1 1 says God created the heaven and the earth and the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

And look at this, and the Bible says, and the Spirit of God moved upon what?

So in the creation story, All 3 aspects of the Godhead are there.

God the Father, God the Son, here even God the Holy Spirit is moving on the face of the waters.

I want to give you guys some some things you could you could look at to help you with this.

Notice I said it before, God creates light before He creates the sun.

And I believe that 1 of the reasons for this, probably not the main reason, but 1 of the reasons is it makes no sense to worship the sun when light was created before it.

And what the Bible says is that God Himself is light.

It's the Bible teaches that when we get to heaven there will be no need for the sun in heaven for God will be our light.

The second day the Bible tells us God creates the firmament, which is the atmosphere, the seas, all of that is created on the second day.

And then on the third day, the Bible tells us that God separates and creates the land, the earth, the waters, all of it is created.

What's interesting when you look at the Bible like this, day 4, God puts the sun and the moon into the firmament that he created on day 1.

On day 5, he puts the birds and the fishes into the atmosphere and the water that he created and then on day 6 the land he released insects and of course mankind is created.

It's very interesting you look at it that way and so there's some who really lined this up so you can see it And all of this tells you that God had a plan.

Now, 1 of the things that God does is that on the odd day, the seventh day, He does not do any work.

And so some of you may be here wondering why it is that we, unlike most other churches, worship on the seventh day, on Saturday.

Now, there's a lot of work to change that.

There's a lot of calendars that are being changed to make Monday the first day of the week.

I want you to remind you Sunday is still the first day of the week always will be.

That's why we keep from Friday evening to Saturday, Friday sunset to Saturday sunset.

We, as Seventh-day Adventists, we don't do work.

We abstain and we make sure to worship and fellowship and do deeds to bless others.
