The Powers That Be

Our subject for this evening, the powers that be.

As always if you don't need 1 of these make sure they turned off and I believe mine is turned off.

If you're using 1 just make sure it does not ring.

Favor number 2, while I'm speaking, pray for me and say, Lord, put your words in that man's mouth.

Jeremiah chapter 1, verse 9, then the Lord put forth his hand and touched my mouth.

And the Lord said unto me, behold, I have put my words in thy mouth and I want God as surely as I stand in this pulpit I want God to put his words in my mouth favor number 3 please think as you listen.

Isaiah 118, come now let us reason together, saith the Lord.

Father, come close to us in the person of your spirit.

Then Father bless us with the intimate presence of your spirit that he might explain the word to us Because 1 of his functions is to guide us into truth Post your angels around this place day God and wherever people are listening protect them by mighty angels father That the forces of darkness may not harass them I humble myself before you loving God and I ask you to use me, dear God.

Use me for your glory and for the blessing of your people.

Bless all the countries represented by the audience.

Give them wisdom from above, that they may make decisions that glorify your name and bless the average citizen here it is humble pray father I offer it in Jesus name Amen our subject the powers that be.

And I read from the King James Version of the Bible.

I'll give you 5 more seconds to find 2 Chronicles chapter 7 to find 2 Chronicles 7, verse 13.

If I shut up heaven, that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land.

God's, if I command the locusts to devour the land, meaning God can command grasshoppers to eat the grass and the crops.

Because God made creation and every living thing has to obey God.

This is an incident in the life of Elijah.

And it shall be that thou shall drink of the brook and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

Verse 6 says and the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning and bread and flesh in the evening and he drank of the brook.

If you look at verse 4 and verse 6, it is obvious that when God commanded the ravens, the ravens did what God said.

Let's go to Mark chapter 4, I believe it is, reading from verse 37.

Remember Christ was caught in a storm on the lake.

He was sleeping, the disciples were terrified.

And he arose and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea, Peace be still.

And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

Jesus commanded the wind and Jesus commanded the sea.

Because he made the wind and he made the sea.

This message is based on an audio I sent to some friends of mine today.

I send it every Friday And as I was reflecting on it and preparing it, I got the conviction to extend it into a message for tonight.

I had a different message to preach, but a spirit led my mind to develop this three-minute message I sent them on audio into a full-blown message.

That's what I'm presenting to you tonight.

Now, why would God command to see the waves, the locusts, the ravens, or the woman who have fed Elijah?

Because all of creation is by the power of God.

What God creates, He commands or controls.

Even the waves, thus far and no further by the Word of God.

Having said that, let us go to Colossians 1.

We just laid out a principle, what God creates, He controls.

And there's nothing that exists that God does not control Colossians 1 verse 16 I'll pray again father Continue to express yourself through me dear God in Jesus name.

I pray Amen For by him were all things created.

Now the word things also means people or intelligent beings.

For by him were all things created that are in heaven and angels are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible.

Whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, all things were created by him.

And we said earlier, whatever God creates, he controls.

Let us look at thrones, dominions, principalities, and powers.

They all refer to levels of authority, levels of power created by God in the person of spiritual beings, angelic beings who exercise power in God's governmental system, the universal system of God.

There are principalities, there are powers.

I ask you, who is the highest angel in heaven now?

Gabriel exercises power on God's behalf by God's permission.

Before Gabriel assumed that position, who was the highest angel in heaven?

He was the highest and the closest to God.

There are principalities and there are powers.

Now, let's take for example principalities and powers.

Remember, they are found in a verse that said God created all of them.
