The 1 good thing I know, presenting something with this title means that no matter what you think of my presentation, you will be nice to me about it.

Every time you come at me, I'll just point you to the title.

I think more people will fall short of the kingdom of God.

More present-day Seventh-day Adventists will fall short of the glory of God because they trip up over this than people who trip up over the Sabbath.

Find any 107-day Adventists today, you have great faith in my eyesight, find any group of 107-day Adventists today and my prediction will be, and I think I'm right, more of them will be lost based on this subject than will be lost based on the Sabbath.

Probably not terribly scientific, the Sabbath is pretty cut and dry.

I would even go so far as to say 1844, the 2300 days, I think.

Up here, there's 1 up here, there's a power cord, a power strip up here.

You had a question, a query, a complaint, remember?

I think that more people are going to be lost because they got this wrong than essentially any other of our doctrines.

It doesn't matter to me if you do, but that's what I think.

Now if I take questions as we go and it turns into a bit of a zoo, I will therefore suggest we take questions at the end, but let's see how it goes.

Well, that's okay, it's not just my eyesight that's going, but I'll make that point in a moment.

Oh, that was the point I was going to make.

I was going to ask you what you think the biggest issue has been in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the last 12 months.

Brothers and sisters, if your answer isn't Pentecost 2025, then shame on all of us.

Did you know that the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America this year is conducting in excess of 5, 000 reaping campaigns.

That's as many as during the Net series, I think, roughly.

And yet, this is being overshadowed by nitwits and nincompoops, who want to bleat and complain and make trouble and cause disunity at a time that we ought to be striving for unity.

And I think you'll know that that Pentecost 2025, if you were to poll the church, isn't the big issue that has been confronting the church in the last 12 months.

I think, you know, I feel strongly about this, so we're going to go for it.

Pray for me, Father in heaven, we're grateful to be here today.

We are thankful for this subject which was assigned to me.

We are going to be looking at navigating differences of opinion in the remnant church And we are praying for the presence of your Holy Spirit.

We wish for the waters to be as smooth as possible.

We ask your blessing in Jesus' name, Amen.

A linguist is 1 who studies the structure and development of a language.

They say that the phrase, cat got your tongue, originated when back in old sailing days, sailors would be flogged with a cat of 9 tails and after receiving their punishment would be unable to speak.

So the phrase emerged, cat got your tongue.

To end a quarrel or conflict and become friendly.

Came to be because it is said during negotiations between Puritans and Native Americans, people would put away their weapons, thank you very, very much, put away their weapons, making them inaccessible.

In some instances, weapons would actually be buried.

I think the Iroquois had something to do with that.

In the late 19th century, because gramophones or record players had no volume control and they had a horn-looking thing out of which the sound emerged, people would take a sock and put it in the horn of those devices in order to dull or to lower the volume.

And that's where we get the phrase, put a sock in it.

Linguists have also determined that the saying, fight like cats and dogs, was first used after a board meeting at a Seventh-day Adventist church.

Which descended into chaos because people could not figure out how to get beyond their disagreements.

When this pattern became well established after numerous arguments in church foyers and church parking lots and at conference executive sessions, the phrase, fight like cats and dogs, became a well-established part of the English language.

Disagreements are a fact of life, and you know that.

Nowhere does the Bible say that we all ought to see every issue in precisely the same way.

God does not at any time ask us to surrender our individuality.

You may have a point of view if you wish.

It may differ from mine, and we ought still be able to be friends.

I am fond of telling my staff, you may feel free to disagree.

We simply ask that you not be disagreeable.

And lest you worry, we do pretty well in that regard.

In an age of rage, and that's about where we are, It's imperative that God's people discover how they may disagree while maintaining their Christianity.

It must be possible to see things differently and still be Christians.
