You're about to enjoy a presentation recorded at the 2025 Michigan Conference Camp Meeting held at Cedar Lake, Michigan.

We pray that the Lord will bless you as you listen.

Welcome to our last seminar of this series.

It's been a joy to be here with each of you and I'm gonna honestly miss all of you.

So I hope to see you again if not on this little planet, definitely in the forever place, right?

Are you ready for the best day of the week?

Have you made some plans on how you're going to make it extra special?

You're saying we're at a camp meeting, isn't that enough?

Well, it could be, but are you gonna do anything to make it special?

I hope it's more than wild edible plants, though that could make it special.

I invite you to turn to the person next to you and ask them, in all your lifetime, who is somebody that has touched your heart with being a giver?

Now I'm not necessarily saying money, that's 1 form of giving, but maybe it was time, I don't know, but somebody that over your lifetime you think they're always giving, not just keeping.

They were giving, giving, giving, giving.

Just ask them if they know of somebody like that.

Jesus taught, freely you have received, freely give.

This class is about helping our children to not only be disciples, but honestly if you're a disciple, a biblical disciple, then you're a disciple maker.

So disciples, biblically, are disciple makers.

They don't just keep the good stuff that you have shared with them about Jesus to themselves.

So if you're leading adventures or Sabbath schools or Pathfinder or whatever you're doing with kids, definitely for the kids and grandkids in your home, you want to teach kids not to keep, but to give away what Jesus has given them.

Much of our focus in our church is focused on giving to the child to keep, but we have a mission to the world, right?

It's good to give them something precious for them, right?

With your partner, please pray that the Holy Spirit will bless.

I'm going to teach simple ways that we can learn this ourselves and teach our kids of all ages how to Take what God's given us and pass it on.

Okay Let's just pray in twos or threes And all the people said amen, I know some are just finishing up their prayer time.

If you need a piece of paper, and everyone will need 1, so you can either use your own paper or this paper but paper is coming to you and a pen.

As we're bringing the paper out I have good news for you this afternoon.

Yesterday what was our topic in this place right here?

As I was walking out that door, a young lady came up to me from this class and said, I am 1 of the ones that walked away.

And I'm 1 of the ones that He brought back.

And so I said, would you walk with me over to the 05:00 prayer meeting because I need to ask you about something.

So she and I walked from here right over to where we're praying for the Holy Spirit.

By the way, are any of you coming this afternoon, 05:00?

So we're praying for the Holy Spirit and I'll be teaching by God's help and your prayers how to have the baptism of the Holy Spirit every day of our life.

As we're walking along, I said, would you actually come back on our last day and give a brief testimony that would just encourage us as busy parents and grandparents and uncles and aunts that if we have a kid that's on our heart that's far away we want to be encouraged by their testimony and she's here right now.

If you can just hold this, and I guess hold this.

I'm from London, you can hear my accent, but I'm currently working in Berrien Springs.

I'll get away from your mic just a little.

Just a little bit, yeah, it's a powerful little mic.

Okay, so I was asked to talk just briefly about why I left, what brought me back, and what I'm doing right now.

So I'm a third generation Adventist, which I say is kind of a warning because some of you think that we're sages because we've been in church for a long time, but we aren't, we're all equally at risk of walking away.

I wasn't a kid that you would have, I'm so sorry, I wasn't a kid that you would have expected to leave.

I was very active in church, I was very sincere about my involvement in church, so it wasn't like I was a kid that was on the brink.

But I, as Don was saying this whole week, Pastor Don was saying this whole week, I knew a lot about God, but I never knew God.

I never really saw him in the people around me, in church, at home, in my family.

I saw a lot of division, I saw a very twisted picture of who God was, and that really impacted me.

And as I got older and had more questions, the God that I had grown up seeing was a God that I didn't actually want to serve.

I went to university, a secular university in the UK, and I left.

And it wasn't an intentional leaving, I just stopped going to church, and then Sabbaths became Saturdays and holidays.

My mom and my dad prayed for me every day.

My mom especially was really persistent in praying for me and she prayed for me for about 5 years.

It wasn't just like a leaving of like, you know, I'm just gonna not do my own.

And going back in a very dramatic way in 2023?

It was the first death that was that close to me.

Obviously death can spin you out if you're not used to it.

It really faced my mortality and the fact that I didn't really know where I was with spiritual themes because I didn't want to serve the God that I knew but I didn't believe in him myself.

So long story short, I ended up New Year's 2023, I ended up very, very, very out my mind, very drunk, very high on a train on my way back home from a party and I had an awful experience And in that experience I realized that I was going to die, and I didn't want to die because if I died I knew where I was going to go and it wouldn't be there.

And I realized in that experience that if hell was real, which is where in my mind I was going to go, then heaven was too and I wanted to be there instead.

So it wasn't for the most selfless of reasons that I turned back to God.
