You're about to enjoy a presentation recorded at the 2025 Michigan Conference Camp held at Cedar Lake, Michigan.

We pray that the Lord will bless you as you listen.

Father in heaven, thank you so much that you have invited us to once again explore and experience the wonder and awe of your grace and mercy and presence in and through Jesus Christ.

Thank you that we can place our lives in those nail pierced hands and as we open your word open our minds and hearts that we may find joy untouchable as we prepare for your soon coming in Christ's name.

Hebrews 12.2, For the joy set before him endured the cross.

And we have to have joy to endure what's coming in the time of trouble like there's never been before.

And so if his love was stronger than his hurt, our love has to be stronger than our hurt, which means that it's not focused on.

Do you think do you think he was focused on himself here?

In this crisis that he went through, who was he focused on completely?

1 single that he had trained himself from the very beginning.

I did not come to do my will but the will of my father.

He was focused completely on the will of his father.

It was not emotional, oh I'm thinking of you and I'm gonna die for you.

That's why you get strange things like Isaiah 53 where it says, it pleased the Lord to bruise him.

Strange words, but because it was in God's will that he would die.

And so his love was stronger than the hurt he went through because he was focused on the will of his father.

In fact, we understand through Desire of Ages and some of the literature that he could not see through the portals of the tomb.

If he could not see through the portals of the tomb.

If he could not see through the portals of the tomb it means he did not see beyond his death.

We have such a privilege to see beyond our death because death for us is a small matter.

But for him, he could not see through the portals of the tomb, which means that he was willing to die and not exist so we can exist.

It's a love and a sacrifice that only comes from heaven's source.

And so, if you had the little bookmark that I've handed out, on there you got the P-R-A-Y, which is praise, repent, ask, and yield.

And every time you praise, focus on Him, you are letting Him increase.

Every time you repent, letting Him reclaim control over your life, you are letting Him increase.

Every time you ask what he wants, not what you want, you are letting him increase.

And every time you yield your life that he can use it or choose not to use it and you yield it and you content with the uses your doesn't use you in the nominating committee or any other place, you are content when you yield like Joseph when you don't understand what is happening to you and you have no paradigm of why this this nightmare has come into your life and you still yield you are letting him increase And when you're successful and you've learned to let Him increase, He can increase you.

So when you begin to ask like our Heavenly Father wants to give, what do you really want?

When our prayers are focused on what God really wants, and who He is, and how he wants to reclaim control over lives.

When you focus on him, then you can say, how much more does our Heavenly Father want to give us the Holy Spirit?

And that's why we are told to pray and ask for the Holy Spirit, because He wants to give it.

And if He wants to give it, and we as children want it, we are guaranteed to have it.

Today, we're going to talk about the friend heart.

And this is maybe 1 of the deepest experiences you can have with God is a friendship.

And I'm going to show you why when Jesus was speaking to his disciples.

But When you look at the cross of Christ, what is the first position you should take?

And when he became as a human being, the creature, the creator became a creature, he emptied himself even more to the point of obedience to death.

So the first thing when you look at the cross is to be a servant and when you don't understand the pain and the suffering that's happening around you just trust his heart and be a servant.

And so we should be willing to trust how much?

Everything to the hand that was nailed to the cross for us.

And so the first thing when you see the cross is to be a servant as he is a servant.

Then when you have a little bit of understanding, we spoke about this yesterday a little bit, what kind of relationship does God want with us?

To be a child, to trust him, cast yourself upon him because he's never dropped you.

And today we're going to get to understanding what it really means to be a friend.

A few things that we're going to go through.

As a reminder, all things work together for good.

To really understand that, there are 2 things.

You have to love God and you understand what your purpose is for God.

And you're going to let him reveal the purpose.

We spoke about Jesus himself being the greatest servant.

That when he washed the disciples' feet, even when they were arguing, even when they were...

He had told them before, listen you need to be a servant and then they come along and there's no 1 to serve in the upper room.

So Jesus shows them what it really means to be great is to serve.

You are not concerned about what people are going to think of you as much as you're really concerned about what heaven thinks of you.

And then the Roman soldier said, you're going to carry my burden 1 mile.

He's busy doing all kinds of good and very important things but he takes it how many miles but he's very busy he's doing the will of his father when he does that When your life is interrupted and you are forced by the Romans to carry your burden, he doesn't carry it 1 mile, he carries it 2.

You're doing the will of your Father when you serve even more.

And even when you're in a position that you don't like it, and you serve even more.

And when you give your food and you go hungry, knowing that God will provide, but this person you met doesn't have, you're serving.

It's learning how to wash each other's feet to make the other more important than yourself.

And then we ended yesterday about this heart of reconciliation that Joseph had, but also the heart of David.

And so if David really understood who God is as a father, And we paused there and we went through this experience of Psalm 51 and we said that when David understood how much he messed up and he really messed up didn't he?

And so when he understood how much he messed up, when he talks to God in Psalm 51, what is he asking specifically?

He is a child that comes to his father and he says, Dad, I really messed up and I'm sorry.

In fact, I'm going to just briefly talk about it.

You can listen to it online, yesterday's lecture, a little more.

But when he says, have mercy on me, O God, according to your loving-kindness, according to the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out my transgression.

How many times does he determine or ask God how to have mercy on him?

And then he says, not just any way you want.
