It is practical for teaching, for exposure, for error, for correction, for instruction in godly living.

May we study scripture this morning, for if we do so, we shall know the Father, behold the Son, and experience the Holy Spirit.

I'd like to say thank you to many of you who have been praying for me, thank you for asking how I've been doing.

I've been, you know when people, when the speakers say that and I'm like the speaker says he feels better like, there's a little bit of like, is that really?

But yesterday around 12 or 1 o'clock I just felt all my symptoms go away And praise the Lord.

I really want to thank you for the prayers.

I felt the prayers of God's people upon me.

Hopefully, if you had a good GYC day yesterday, yes or no?

If you had a great day, please raise your hand.

If you, hands down, if you had a bad day, please raise your hand and take note of them, who they are.

Yesterday, there was a little bit of a, we had a technical difficulty.

I was about, I was right there and right about to come out.

And then they said, hey, do a little quick mic test.

And then the song is kind of like ending, you know?

And so they changed out the ear thing and that didn't work.

That didn't work and I just give me a handheld and then emergency pianist came out this emergency triage on the piano and I came with a mic and that's what the the five-minute mystery was.

There's many of you are like what's going on?

Was the emergency emergency like anyway yeah okay.

It was all cool, just some technical difficulties.

And I just want to say thank you to 3ABN.

3ABN has been a faithful ministry and we have been in couple partnership with them, coupled with them if you will, and they have just helped our ministry so much and we just appreciate all the technical and broadcast expertise that they provide.

There's nothing more humbling than to see your face up at the credits 20 years ago when a lot of us had white hair and hair.

Anyway, we had it about 20 years ago and it's been a privilege to see an organization that we just started because some of our friends were not really understanding what Adventism was all about.

They didn't really have Jesus in their lives.

And he's like, hey, long time ago, as I mentioned, people used to pay for good sermons.

They had to buy an ancient device called a CD or a DVD, this thing called streaming and audio-verse, putting it all for free.

So we decided, hey, let's bring people together.

Maybe 10, maybe 50 people will show up, and we'll just invite all the speakers that we like, and we'll make them speak.

We'll make them speak from 6 to midnight, 10 o'clock at night, or really late, because we're so poor, we're poor students, and we can get all this stuff for free.

And what happened is we got hundreds of young people coming to the first UIC, they were sleeping in bathtubs.

We had, I mean, I was in charge of registration, we had no idea what we were doing.

We just put 4 males to a room 4 females to a room and if you had a unisex neutral gender name It's 1 of those rooms.

Oh, well, you figure that out and then again there's praise the Lord nothing anyway it was that's what we did and praise the Lord through 3ABN came on board and became thousands and we went international and and praise the Lord after I saw more than 20 years it's just to see this movement progress has been a great joy in my life.

I say that because today, this year's GYC, we've had in attendance, 6, 7, 8, 000 in the past, but this year's UIC was the largest registration on record.

And the majority, we are hitting our demographic of young adults.

And we praise the Lord that after we are, we can securely say, safely say, I should say, that after the pandemic, hey, conferences, people still like face-to-face experiences.

And so I want to ask you that as we are here for morning devotions, as you have your Bibles on or open, that because the pandemic and YouTube and social media and apps and all these things are great, but they condition our mind to be passive, To be what everyone?

And then there's a whole generation out there, Gen Z and Alpha, it's just a passive experience.

And if you don't get anything out of GYC, feel the conviction or make the decision in your conviction that I don't want to live, I don't want to get too close, I'm going to fall off the stage, then make the conviction that I don't want to live a passive spiritual life.

I just don't want to go from convention to convention to retreat to retreat to event to event and just waiting for something to happen.

So actively listen, actively, Lord he's talking about this but what should I do?

Find other people, engage, and say I want to carve out this this this seminar experience for me I want to engage with that person talk I want to do and this is the day to do it because it's evangelism day.

Now I know if you're extroverted you're like amen people but if you're like me and I know it's hard to believe, I am an introvert, I hate people.

But the Lord calls me and I got to do it.

And I know many of you out there, out there, out there, out there hate people too, amen?

And we ask the Lord Jesus, Lord, I love you.

And Lord, give me a love for people I've never met before.

And Lord, help me get out of my comfort zone.

Oh Lord, thank you, you gave me other 5, 000 other people to go evangelism with.

That's much better than go alone by myself.

So if you're anti-evangelism, today's the day to leave that behind and move forward to see the invisible.

Some of you are here for the first time at GYC.

GYC has often been been been shoehorned into, hey GYC is the place where all the crazy people go.

There are some crazy people here I have to admit there are some of you are crazy you you are you are a boco loco okay.

There's others that hey GYC is the people where there's the vegan people go at.

There are some fruitarians and oxygenarians, and there's some fasting people here too, all right?

GYC is the place where they wear neckties and skirts.

Yeah, there are some neckties, there are some skirts here.

GYC and they're called it's called the spirit of GYC document.

I'm going to really quickly through this number 1 GYC we believe in a respect for scripture as the foundation and test of all teachings and practice.
