Father, thank You again for the blessing and the privilege, and as we go into our next section, and continue to see and learn the relevance, the importance, and the how of studying Your Word, we ask Your blessing for those that are here, those that maybe are on their way, those that will be listening, and we ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

For those of you that are new, we just did an introduction, a prophetic introduction to why and the key and the importance to the Word of God.

We'll review a little bit about that right now.

We're gonna be talking now about contemplating the glory of God.

I'm gonna give you a practical exercise in regards to that.

We're gonna then, in the afternoon at 2.30, we're gonna then look at the Sanctuary and prophecy as a model to study the Bible.

How can we see that and I'm going to give you another Practical application to this then we're going to look at Bible genealogies in our fourth lesson right Bible genealogies This person begot that person this person begot that person blah blah blah blah blah come across Bible genealogies, right?

We're gonna do a study on Bible genealogies and I'm gonna give you also a practical exercise that's gonna blow your mind away.

And then tomorrow morning, we're gonna talk about the gospel and we're gonna talk about some difficult stories, how we see the gospel in these difficult stories.

And so for those that just arrived, we went into the Laodicean message.

We studied the Laodicean message because we see that Christ says that there's a problem in the end, right?

It says the Laodicean church is lukewarm.

How am I going to recognize my condition?

And we saw that the key was that Jesus was on the outside.

And so because that means that we know of Jesus, right.

We know about Him, but we don't have a personal relationship with Him.

The way I'm gonna get you to open your eyes, the way I'm gonna get you to see your true condition, because you're self-righteous, you're living in sin, and you're unaware of it, right?

And that's why I need to judge cleanse you.

That's what the vindication of the judgment is, to cleanse you from sin so I can take you home, right?

I want you to have a relationship with you.

I want you to know me personally because you don't know me.

You only know of me because other people tell you about who I am.

Other people talk to you about me, but you don't know me personally.

And so the key then to all of this, my brothers and my sisters, as we are looking at for those that just arrived, we're just giving you a quick review, is that Jesus is telling us what?

I want to sit down and dine with you, right?

Satan well knows that all whom he can neglect, he can lead to neglect prayer in the searching of scriptures, will be overcome by his attacks.

So when you neglect getting to know Christ, when you neglect it, whether it be because you don't want to, or whether it be because you just don't know how to, right?

You're giving Satan power, because if Jesus is not in the inside, he's on the outside, then who's on the inside?

He's not talking to to Muslims He's not talking to atheists.

He's talking to us the Laodicean Church And that's why this message Satan hates the Laodicean message Because he knows it brings revival it's going to bring the shaking and the latter rain Continues to say no man is safe for a day or an hour without prayer, right?

We talked about that doesn't mean you're on your knees all day Just means you're connected to God constantly talking with him right in prayer wherever you are whatever you're doing, especially Primarily number 1 should we ask the Lord for what?

Our number 1 prayer, my brothers and my sisters, every day is, Lord, help me to understand Your Word.

Because when you understand Your Word, His Word, you understand Him.

And then notice this, what does this show?

Never losing sight of our dependence upon God your your daily relationship with God through the prayer and study of the word shows your dependence and your need on him and that's the problem with self-righteousness is that what I got this I'm in control don't worry about this Lord now we were talking about those that the ones that are in jeopardy The first presentation was about those that have absolutely no relationship with God and the numbers show very clearly.

There are some of us that have no relationship with God but we do very good at playing religion.

We do all the right things, we have our SDA checklist, right?

We don't eat these things we do this We were not like the people in the world Right we make a list of the do's and don'ts and we said that that's the Pharisee that does that that's legalism that self-righteousness And I told you throw out your little SDA checklist.

Now for those that just came in, don't say, oh Carlos is saying we shouldn't be doing those things.

I said the focus should be why are you doing those things.

Because you could be doing the right things for the wrong reasons and vice versa.

So if you didn't catch the first presentation, then go back and when they put it up on audio verse and listen to it before you go about talking gossip about me all right and so we're talking about this being self-righteous right trying to earn our way to heaven but what's the problem we're blind we don't see the problem we don't see our true condition right And we're blinded because we think we're doing X and Y and we know this and right now again the knowledge is not the problem but it's not the main thing the main thing is the relationship.

With the relationship comes the knowledge.

Now we're gonna talk about the second group.

Second group are those of you that come and you're like, oh Carlos I read my Bible every day.

I'm not like these Seventh-day Adventists who don't read their Bibles right.

You want to know how I was doing marriage counseling a couple of years ago.

And this brother had had married this this lady and he had been raised in the church.

She was new in the church and they got married and their marriage was in chaos.

And so they come to me and says, could you give us marriage counseling?

03 The Sanctuary and Prophecy

Father, thank you again for the blessing and the privilege.

And as we come to continue to learn how to study your word from different angles, different perspectives, different strategies, we just ask for your blessing.

I ask a blessing for those that are here, those that are coming, and those that will be listening to these presentations later on.

We're gonna be looking now at the sanctuary and prophecy.

I'm gonna give you some angles in regards to that.

We're gonna then look at the second afternoon hour on Bible genealogies, all right?

Bible genealogies, You probably think it's the worst thing in the world when you're studying the Bible.

And I believe that too, until I opened my mind.

I said, God, you have your Bible genealogies here for a reason.

I want to see your glory in your Bible genealogies.

And God has blown me away with the genealogies.

And then tomorrow morning, we'll look at the Gospel through some difficult stories.

And I'll also help you tomorrow morning, I'm going to talk about creating the environment to spend time with God, right?

You have to create the right environment.

Like any relationship, you want to really to grow.

You have to, I'm a very, I'm a very, what you would say, I'm a very methodical person because my mind easily drags off I'm easily distracted by anything and so I have to create the right environment to spend time with God I have to be very intentional very purpose-driven in regards to everything the music the environment the setup because if not it's very hard for me to focus.

And God has obviously helped me in regards to that a lot more.

And so that's why we are here in this sense.

And so we were talking this morning, I'm sorry, it's as I said I was having issues with my PowerPoint so I'm using, what do you call this?

And so it doesn't convert sometimes directly but this morning we were studying the Laodicean message right the message that God has sent to prepare the church for the shaking for the latter rain and we saw that this message is not going to be accepted it's going to be rejected it's going to be pushed back And we saw this morning when we studied why that is, right?

Because it points to our self-righteousness.

It points to our mindset of we're doing X and Y, trying to obtain, or trying to gain favor, or trying to earn our way to heaven.

And we're unconsciously, we're blinded to the fact of that right and the Laodicean message is trying to open that up and show us in that sense and we saw that the Laodicean message what is the key that Jesus is where Jesus is on the outside where does he want to be on the And where does he want to be specifically on side?

When we're playing religion because we have our little SDA checklist, but we are disconnected to God, right?

We're just following a list of things that they have given us and I'm not saying that those lists of things to do and don't do are not wrong, but we talked about the motivation, the intention.

If you are not connected to Christ, if you don't have a relationship with Christ, those things that you do and don't do are meaningless, Alright?

They're meaningless because none of those things are gonna get you into heaven.

It's, it's, why are you doing the things that you're doing?

Or are you doing it because you're trying to earn your way to heaven?

And as the message says, we're blinded to our self-righteousness and our legalism.

Let's just read this quote again from great controversy.

Satan knows well knows that all who he can lead to neglect prayer and the searching of scriptures will be what overcome by his attacks.

I told you the devil does not care that you come to church, that you're baptized, that you give tithes and offerings, that you come to GYC.

The devil doesn't care about those things.

What the devil does not want you to do is have a daily relationship with Christ.

That's what he doesn't want because he knows that's where the power comes.

So he wants us keeping, He wants to keep us playing religion, but He does not want us to have that connection with Christ, which is the key for the power of God to be manifested in our lives.

It says, no man is safe for a day or an hour without prayer, right?

We're not talking about being on your knees all day.

We're talking about constantly speaking to the Lord.

The trains are packed and I'm sitting there and I'm just talking to the Lord, right?

While you're driving, while you're cleaning, while you're whatever, you can always be connected to God.

And notice this says, especially, primarily, most importantly, should we ask the Lord for wisdom to what?

I'm sorry, the main, the number 1 prayer is that Lord help me to understand your word because this is where God reveals himself to us, right?

That is the purpose of this book as we saw.

And so I gave you the Bible verse that I found is the most important, most relevant, most important Bible verse.

Why do you spend daily get into the Word of God and that Bible verses 2nd Corinthians 3 18 beholding?

The glory of the Lord for those that were here this morning.

That's what this book is here for This is not to carry it around and let other people think look I'm a Christian the purpose of this book is To contemplate the glory of God.

This is not to carry it around and let other people think, look, I'm a Christian.

The purpose of this book is to contemplate the glory of God.

To open it and say, Lord, I want to see your glory.

Amen tomorrow morning I'll talk about the environment where I every day that I'm right before I jump into the Word of God I read this Bible verse now I have it memorized but I read it and I open the word and I say Lord I want to see your glory And that's what God most wants is to reveal Himself to us.

But we have to put ourselves in the right place so that can happen.

The right attitude, the right time frame, the right mindset.

And so I say, Lord I want to see your glory.

And when we see the glory of God, what happens?

From glory to glory, day by day, hour by hour.

04 What Are These Genealogies in the Bible There For?

Father thank you again for the blessing and the privilege and and for continuing To inspire us we thank you for the spirit who makes this possible because without the spirit there would be no discernment there would be No understanding and then we have the spirit because we have Christ And So we thank you father for all of this and as we continue to study and now we go as do a study into the genealogies We ask that for your blessing and your guidance and we ask this in Jesus name Amen, amen.

So this is what I put together for the Sanctuary in Laodicea at number 1.

Listens, we hear, we're exposed to the Word of God, we're exposed to the glory of God.

That means then we open the door and we repent, right?

Then number 3, you mentioned he dines with us, right?

I think my sister over here, she was sitting around here, she was saying, right, he dines with us, he feeds us, and then we also were dining together, there's a what?

I know, I come across people sometimes that they say, oh, pastor, I've been praying and praying and I don't feel like God is listening to my prayers or answering my prayers And I said, okay, and I said so are you spending time in the Word of God and like well, no You know, I don't have a lot of time and I'm like, okay, I'm like, well, That's not a that's not a fellowship.

That's a monologue You're talking to God praise God because prayer is important, but now you got to start listening to him Amen now you got to start listening to him.

He's gonna speak to you, too so there are many Christians that I what I found is we sometimes tend to overemphasize 1 over the other.

And when you're balanced in your prayer and your study life, that's where I've seen probably the most balanced Christians, right?

And in my own life, because I tend to primarily, my inclination is towards the study, right?

And so when I started to balance those out or sometimes I do and then I'm like, right?

They go hand in hand, the study and the prayer.

And remember what Sister White say in Great Controversy?

That's the number 1 prayer is Lord help me to understand your Word.

Then I have the candlesticks is receive the gold refined in fire, the white garments, the eyesalve, the righteousness of Christ being seen in us, right?

The spiritual discernment in regards to that.

The veil is Christ overcome as Christ overcame in the flesh.

And then number 7, sit on the throne, right?

There's no 1 way to do this and as I mentioned before you can do this in your local church at a youth gathering for a prayer group for a small group you can just go through the Bible and find different Bible stories and just you know find different ways to come up whether it be the sanctuary or whatever it else.

Now we're going to talk about genealogies.

How many of you studied your Bible and then you come across a genealogy and then you're like and this guy be got this guy and this guy be got and you're like Boring.

Open your Bibles with me to Genesis chapter 3, please.

I'm going to give you the foundation of the genealogies, And then we're going to do 2 exercises, 1 together, and then you're going to do 1 in groups or by yourself, however you want.

Genesis chapter 3, when you're there, say Amen.

All right, notice what it says in Genesis chapter 3.

Just so you know, my favorite book in the Bible is Revelation, but my favorite chapter in the Bible is Genesis chapter 3.

Genesis chapter 1, 2, and 3 are the core.

And this is what I say, the rest of the Bible is commentary on Genesis chapter 1, 2 and 3.

I wish we had time to study Genesis chapter 3, we just don't have enough time.

But here's Genesis chapter 3, has what I call the mother of all prophecies and notice what it says in Genesis chapter 3 verse number 15 and I will put enmity between you who's you Satan he's talking to Satan I will put enmity between you Satan and between the woman.

Which in that case, who are God's people in this context?

And they're the first 2 church members, are Adam and Eve.

If God says I'm gonna put enmity between you Satan and between Humanity, which is what Adam and Eve represent.

If God says I'm gonna put enmity between you Satan and the woman or humanity, my people, what does that imply?

Okay, That means that there is harmony between the devil and humanity.

After the fall, humanity is now in harmony with the devil and sin.

And I'm going to put enmity because enmity is not there if he says I'm going to put it.

Now if there is harmony between humanity and Satan, then that means there is enmity between humanity and God.

And the carnal mind is enmity against God.

I'm gonna put an end to this situation, right?

How does God put enmity between humanity and the devil?

The cross of Calvary is what breaks the power of the devil, right?

That's what all prefigured in Genesis 3 15.

This is the mother of all prophecies because this prophecy runs through every single Bible story.

Every single Bible story God is saying, the seed, the Messiah, the Savior is going to come.

And He's going to put an end to you, Satan.

You have, when God tells that to Adam and Eve, who's listening?

So there's gonna be someone that's gonna come out of this woman and he's the 1 that's gonna put an end to me so who comes out of Adam and Eve first who are the 2 first Cain and Abel and so the devil looks at Cain and Abel like mmm all right Cain's mine but I don't like Abel so what is Cain what does the devil do he uses Cain to kill Abel and so then the devil says problem solved uh-uh But then the Bible says in Genesis chapter 5 that who came next?
