The Early Rain and the Holy Place Experience

I'm excited about what we're going to study.

We're going to sing our song, Ecclesiastes 1 verse 9.

Dear Father in heaven, Lord, we want to thank you for your beauty and your holiness, for your goodness that you give to us every day.

And as I think about it, Father, I am just so grateful that you've allowed us this opportunity to study in peace, to give us the opportunity to anchor ourselves deeper in the word of God.

Now Father, I pray for the gift of the Holy Spirit, which is the only effectual teacher of truth.

I pray, Father, that you give us thoughts and feelings that reflect your own.

And I pray that you'd be glorified in all of this.

We ask that you teach us to love you more than anything else in this world.

And we pray this in the mighty name of Jesus.

And we claim the merits of his holy and most precious blood.

So our series has been the Glorious Holy Mountain.

Today's specific subject matter is the early rain.

Now, as I told you, we're not covering the half of what we could have covered in the longer period of time.

But for the sake of continuing forward and carrying over the clearer, more heavy principles that we're trying to cover, we're gonna move forward today talking about the early reign.

Before we go there, I do need to remind us of some basic principles in regards to our Bible study.

Ecclesiastes 1 verse 9 says, the thing that hath been, it is that which shall be.

And that which is done, is that which shall be done.

The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be.

Again, just reminding us, the thing that hath been, what is that?

So if you want to understand the future, you must go back and study the past.

If you want to understand the present, you must go back and study the what?

In fact, again, adding to this principle, go to Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 and verse number 15.

That which hath been is now, and that which is to be hath already been, and God requireth that which is what?

Again, very simple concept, very simple principle that when we're studying the Bible, when we're looking to understand how God operates, all we have to do is go back and look at how He has operated in the past.

And if we can learn those simple principles, it will carry us in the crisis and the troubles that are right ahead of us, my friends.

Again, adding to this principle because we've already gone over it, but let's read Education 190 and the second paragraph.

Scripture is to be compared with scripture.

The student should learn to view the word as a whole and see the relation of its parts.

He should gain a knowledge of its grand central theme, of God's original purpose for the world, of the rise of the great controversy, and of the work of redemption.

He should understand the nature of the 2 principles that are contending for supremacy and learn to trace their workings through the records of history and prophecy to the great consummation.

I asked you yesterday, what is the great consummation?

So I should be able, when I study the Bible, when I look at history, I should be able to see 2 principles that are contending, that are fighting, and I should be able to trace it from the beginning of time all the way down to the second coming.

And as I'm studying the Word of God, God is going to make it plain to me which side I'm on.

He should see how this controversy enters into every phase of human experience, how in every act of life, he himself reveals the 1 or the other of the 2 antagonistic motives.

There's no harmony between the 2 principles.

There is an antagonistic idea or principles against each other that you will see throughout all Earth's history.

How in every act of life, he reveals the 1 or the other of the 2 antagonistic motives and how whether he will or not, he is even now deciding upon which side of the controversy he will be found.

So I want to ask you a question, a very simple question.

Is it possible, is it possible to be neutral in this controversy?

There's no neutrality in this war that we're in.

For my friends, even though you may not see it with guns and machetes and bullets and whatnot, we are in a spiritual warfare.

When you woke up this morning, there was a debate whether or not you should be awoken.

When you got up this morning, there's a controversy.

The devil said, no, they do not deserve to arise for another day.

There is more of my love that they must experience.

You're making a decision moment by moment.

I want to read this very interesting quotation to you, And I want you to pay close attention to it, for if you begin to understand these simple principles, again, we'll be ready for the crisis that is soon to break upon us.

It says, the great outpouring of the Spirit of God, which lightens the whole earth with his glory, will not come.
