Please take out your worksheet number 22, believe it or not, 22 of these meetings.

Now, if you've noticed, I'm sure you've picked up that each and every night there's been a health feature, a physical health thing, not just a spiritual.

Now, you might have come into these meetings thinking, like, I came here to know spiritual things.

Why do they keep talking about physical things?

Why do they keep talking about, just tell me the things that have to do with my soul, right?

Well, that bubble might have burst when we told you that you don't have a soul, you are a soul.

And all of our body, all that we are, physical, mental, social, everything belongs to the Lord.

And tonight we're going to see, tonight we're going to start just a couple of practical things.

Of course, we're coming in for a landing this weekend.

Believe it or not, we wrap these meetings up.

Friday night, we're gonna have an important appeal.

I've been telling you about it a long time.

We're gonna be having an appeal on Friday night.

Then, Sabbath morning, we're gonna have our final meeting together.

Hopefully, well, not our final, final meeting of the series.

Hopefully, we'll continue to meet long after that But final meeting of this series will be Sabbath morning and in these intervening nights before that time I'm gonna talk on just a couple of issues a practical Christian living now there are lots of things we could talk about.

We could talk about having wholesome, healthy language come out of our mouths, right?

Christians should not use foul language or take the names of the Lord God in vain.

And we should have a whole sermon about how God has given us a mouth and we should be using it to his glory and honor, Okay?

Or we could have a whole sermon about financial responsibility.

You know that the Lord talks a lot about money, both Old and New Testament.

Principles for responsibility, not being in debt, all these different—we could have a whole meeting about that.

We could have a meeting about what's what's some sexual purity.

We don't want to keep God's law and all kinds of things in our personal relationships.

But here's the issue with picking something like that.

I'm guessing that for the most part you already agree with those things.

I'm guessing if I stood up as a preacher of the gospel and said, you know you should not take the Lord in your God's name in vain, you're not gonna say, now wait a minute, you got to show me that in Scripture.

Odds are you're like, yeah, you know, and you just sit there and nod and agree and I'd feel great.

Or you can do the same thing with financial responsibility.

If I said, you probably shouldn't live $100, 000 in debt, nobody's going to be like, no, I think that might actually be a good idea.

You know, nobody's gonna really question that What I want to hit on Just on these next 2 nights are something that you might have questions about Tonight is gonna be something about the inside of your body health and how you take care of this body that the Lord has given you, that is open to some sort of discussion right now.

Different people have different ideas of what health means and we need to see what does the Bible actually teach about how to take care of the inside of our bodies.

And tomorrow night we're going to talk about the outside of our bodies.

Does the Lord give any instruction about things like what we should wear and how we should present ourselves?

Does the Lord talk about both the inside and the outside of our body or is Christianity just merely big theory about big ideas or does it come and hit home inside and outside of our bodies?

So tonight, by the way, I want to illustrate this.

But before we get to tonight's, Let's bow our heads with a word of prayer.

Heavenly Father, thank you so much, again for another day of life, for an opportunity now to come together in fellowship and enjoy each other's company, but most importantly, to learn the truths from your word.

Lord, let everything that I say tonight be just that, the truth from your word.

Let it be clear that what we are presenting is founded solely on the Scripture alone.

And Lord, to that end, help it not to be mere theory, but help it to find a root in our lives, an application in our daily endeavors, as we live to be your people both inside and out, for we pray it in Jesus' name, amen.

All right, we're going to start with Genesis chapter 2.

This is a very brief review, but there's an off chance that you've forgotten what we talked about that evening or that you were not here for that evening.

Lay the foundation in Genesis chapter 2 for our message tonight, Temple Maintenance.

Genesis chapter 2 and verse 7, we find this passage about the creation of man.

It says here, And the Lord God formed man of the what?

Dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the?

Breath of life, and man became a living being.

That's to say he wasn't a living being, then God brought the dust and the breath together and that combined makes a living being.

Or as the King James Version would tell you, a living soul.

So go right there to your first fill in the blank.

Again, this is review, but you don't have a soul.

Now for tonight, we're going to extend what that means.

Now what does it, what's some practical application of that?

Thus, physical health and spiritual health are not independent of each other or separate from each other.

We are a soul and that soul is combined of the breath of God and the body he's given us, right?

So physical health and spiritual health are completely intertwined.

Now, where do we come up with this title, Temple Maintenance?

Well, we picked it up from Jesus himself.

John chapter 2, page 1027 in your Pew Bible.

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the fourth book of the New Testament.

I have a pastor friend who doesn't like to call it the Old and New Testament.

He calls the Old Testament the New Testament and the New Testament the Newer Testament, right?

But it's all the New Testament because we didn't have it before.

John chapter 2, page 1027 in your pew Bible.

Jesus has another interaction with some people who are questioning him.

It says here, Jesus answered and said to them, destroy this what?

Temple, and in 3 days I will raise it up.

Destroy this temple in 3 days, I will raise it up.

Then the Jew said, it has taken 46 years to build this temple and you will raise it up in 3 days?

By the way, there's a whole interesting sermon.

I mean, you find out it's later this statement would be rehashed, revisited, and twisted around so that at his trial, which by the way was a mock trial from start to finish, right?

But he could get, they could scrape together enough witnesses to say, Jesus said he was going to destroy the temple.
