Glory of God

In Numbers 14, there's a prophecy that the glory of God will cover the earth.

In Habakkuk 2, there's a prophecy that the knowledge of the glory of God will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.

In Psalm 72, there is a prayerful prophecy that the knowledge of the glory of God will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.

In Isaiah 11, there's a prophecy that the knowledge of God will fill the entire earth.

And now we're looking at Isaiah chapter 6.

In Isaiah 6, Isaiah sees the Lord high and lifted up, his train fills the temple.

Because it shows that God's throne is in his temple.

That is, his throne is seen high and lifted up in his temple.

It shows that there's a temple in heaven with real angels.

And in Isaiah 6 God asked the question, who will go for me?

For example, the temple fills with smoke.

When does the temple fill with smoke in the book of Revelation?

For example, coals are thrown to the earth.

But when are coals thrown to the earth in the book of Revelation?

It's when Christ's ministry ends at the close of probation.

There are a number of indications in Isaiah 6 that it's speaking about the closing of human probation.

And what is the message Isaiah carries to the world?

It's a message that the earth is going to be wasted without inhabitants and that there's no more opportunity for repentance.

And then Isaiah asked the question, how long should I give this message?

And the answer is, until the earth is wasted without inhabitants.

And 1 of the seraphim cried to another and said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts.

This passage differs from all the others in 1 significant respect.

The others speak about the earth being full of God's glory as a future event.

It helps us understand the timing of Revelation 18 where you find that, you can turn there, Revelation 18 and we'll look at verse 1.

Revelation 18 and we're looking at verse 1.

After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory." When is it that the earth is lightened with the glory of God?

It's in the end of time, in connection with the giving of the loud cry of the fourth angel.

When probation closes, what does Isaiah testify?

All the earth is full of the knowledge of the glory of God.

Let me try to put these ideas together for you, and then we're going to go on and look at the mystery of God.

There are goals that the Bible presents, or ultimate aims of God, and 1 of them is this 1, that all the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the character of God." This is presented as an ultimate aim.

So Jesus would say things like, this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God." And he would say things like this, that, I was sent for this reason, to make known unto you the Father.

What is it that brings this experiment of sin on this world to an end?

Apparently, it's all the earth being full of the knowledge of the glory of God.

That is, when all the world knows, all the world can decide for themselves, and they will, and it will all be over.

Does that mean all men do the right thing?

The earth is full in Revelation 18 and in Isaiah 6.

When the earth is full, everyone knows enough to make a decision.

When those who make the wrong decision are executed, who are left, it's those that personally know God.

But will we do evangelism But will we do evangelism during the time of trouble?

The issues, we might at the beginning when we don't know it's the time of trouble.

After the close of probation, when the plagues have begun to fall, people will come to us and they will beg of us to show them the way to life.

You can find our words in the book Early Writings on pages 279 and 280.

It says there that the last tear for guilty sinners will have been shed the last agonizing prayer offered.

We will say to them, I am sorry, I have nothing for you.

All the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God as the waters cover the sea.

The issues will have been brought to an end.

If you want a fruitful field of study, we just brought it up.

To study the glory of God and the knowledge of God and it filling the earth is a study that you cannot exhaust, you can't exhaust it in the near or medium, long future.

Turn your Bibles to Revelation chapter 10.

Revelation 10, we're looking at verses 6 and 7.

And the angel swore by him that lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, and the earth and the things that are in it, and the seed and the things that are in it, that there should be delay or time no longer.

But In the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when He shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be Finished, which he has spoken by all his servants, the prophets.

There is a mystery of God that has been spoken of by all the servants, the prophets.

As he hath declared to his servants the prophets, that thought occurred to me, that all the prophets is mentioned a number of times in scripture, but not here.

There is a prophecy that's been given to his servants the prophets that the mystery of God would be finished.

Now this is the thing, you don't find the mystery as such in the Old Testament.

You do find that we just looked at, the first part of this class, that the glory of God will fill the earth as the waters cover the sea.

Colossians chapter 1, we're looking at verse 27.

So what we read in Revelation 10 is that in the end of time, at some point, the mystery of God is going to be finished.

It sounds like the mystery of God is a project, doesn't it?

So the question is what kind of project is it?

It has a beginning, it has a working time, but it has a finishing.

To know God, but make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

This is the mystery Paul speaks of that has been hid from ages.

It's the idea that we can have the character of God through the indwelling of the Spirit of Jesus.

Now when we say that it's been hid, we ought to say with Paul that if the gospel is hid, it is hid from those that are lost.
