Dear Heavenly Father, oh Lord, we thank you so much for a beautiful day that you gave us today.

The beautiful sunshine and the fellowship and the messages that we've heard today.

And Lord, I just pray that you would continue to be with us throughout this whole camp meeting, Lord.

May our hearts and minds be drawn to you.

May we take these messages and apply them to our lives, that you would change us more and more to be like your Son, Jesus Christ.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that you would be with Tom and Elaine tonight, that you would just put your words into their mouth, that you would give us all attentive ears.

May you fill this place with your angels and your Holy Spirit.

We're going to talk about something this evening that is very dear to, I believe, all of our hearts, putting the family first.

And that's at least 1 of the reasons why we're all here, I believe, is because the family is the first real mission field.

Now we would all agree with that, but we probably, if we're really honest, would also recognize that there's an adversary that's working against that, the world works against it, The busyness of life works against it.

And so sometimes, Sometimes we even work against it.

We end up cooperating with all those work against it.

Now I'm hearing an echo in the sound system.

So I know that you're doing the best you can.

It's great that we can be heard out there.

We'll just hear ourselves a lot longer than you do.

It's like being on a phone and when you hear yourself speak, you hear it back into your ear again.

If you'll be real honest with us, you don't have to raise your hand here but we want you to think over the last week, and we're not going to count this camp meeting, but before camp meeting, 1 week prior, we want you to all don't talk together, but personally, each man, woman, and child out here in the family, I want you to think about how much family time you've had together over the 7 days preceding coming to camp meeting.

So it doesn't count driving to camp meeting.

So I want you to think for just a few seconds, OK, how much family time you had prior to driving to camp meeting or flying to camp meeting or whatever you did.

They don't need long to think about that.

Then we're gonna ask you, anybody, Raise your hand if you'd like to tell us how much, how many hours you've had of family time in the last 7 days before you came to camp meeting.

Yeah, telephone calls count if that's how you're connecting as family.

That was, okay, so we'll say you had an hour, bonfire time.

How many hours of family time did you have the 7 days preceding your drive to family camp?

This is just connected time with the family.

Does, you can qualify it however you want to.

Is there family time happening over here?

That does help to magnify the amount of time, right?

Okay, Sabbath together on an 8-10 hour day?

We just threw it out there and we were hoping some children would answer because what we found at family camps is usually the parents give a really high number like 8 or 10 hours in the week and usually you hear the children maybe 1 or 2 hours in the week so we were hoping to get some children to volunteer but anyway we want to we want to narrow or qualify the question down how much time is you have you had together as a family in the past week from before Tuesday, OK, a week ago.

And we are asking that that does not include the fact that you sleep under the same roof.

So that does remove some of those whole days, that you are not watching a movie or TV or you're not doing something on the internet or you're not texting or you're not on the phone or you're not all doing your own things in other rooms or somebody's out blowing the lawn and somebody's in the kitchen doing the dishes, we wanna know how much time have you had in the last week to be connected as a family?

Now, Becky over here said, does worship time and mealtime qualify?

Yes, if, if you are actually communicating and connecting because we have been guilty somewhat in the past ourselves so you could actually sit at the same table at the same time, eat the same food, and have very little to no communication.

So we're talking about connected time, communication time, heart bonding time in whatever activities you do.

So that does exclude whole days because unless you're all talking all night long, then that doesn't work.
