Dream Big

For those of you that may not know me, just permit me to introduce myself.

I was raised in this Loma Linda area for most of my growing up years and graduated from Loma Linda Academy class of 2007.

And for those of you that may have known me back in high school and haven't really encountered with me since then May be wondering.

Oh, why is she up there since my priorities are kind of different back then but my life has changed praise God and After graduating from high school I went to college for Andrews for different things.

And after 2 years of college, I felt a call to go to this Bible college.

I went canvassing the summer previous before, which is door-to-door work.

And I guess my volume needs to be adjusted.

OK, for those of you that are wondering why I look like this, I didn't have pockets, so I had to borrow Arden's tie right here.

Before going to Bible College, I went to this canvassing program.

And during that canvassing program, the reason why I went was because I was an aspiring entrepreneur.

And in 1 of my business books, it said that the best work to prepare you to be an entrepreneur was to do door-to-door work so that you get used to rejection.

And I went for that reason, but there I experienced other things such as being able to understand that there is a God that exists that cares about my personal things, that he does answer prayers, that he still does perform miracles in this day and age.

And through that experience, I felt a strong call to go to this small Bible college in Prescott, Arizona.

And this is some pictures of that school.

On the top left corner, that's the beginning part where you enter in and those are some of the classrooms and it actually snows there at this place in Arizona.

I thought I was going to see cactus there but I saw pine trees and snow instead during some of the winter months.

It was an amazing, up until that point in my life, those were the best 2 years of my life.

I learned other things, such as how to practically share my faith with others.

I learned about different Bible prophecies, how Jesus really is coming back soon, and many things that I learned.

And after graduation, I went and came back here to the Loma Linda area.

I worked at the church in Riverside as the evangelism coordinator and had an amazing time there as well.

And afterwards, I again felt a call to go back to Souls Last, but this time as a teacher.

And that's what I do now is I love my job.

I get to work with students that were once in my shoes, that were wondering about who God is and how they can be equipped to do his work.

And This is a picture of some of my coworkers.

Some of them have moved on to do other things and we're getting new staff in, but this is my team.

So I just feel very blessed that I get to come and share some things that God has shared with me.

And I hope that you will receive a rich blessing just the way that I have received a blessing in hearing this message from God.

Dear Lord, thank you so much for using us in different ways, and I ask that you would speak through me now, that You would touch each of our hearts in a special way that only you can touch.

How many of you have aspirations or dreams or goals or things you want to accomplish in life.

But the first year that I remember aspiring to do something or the first year that I remember in my life where I thought of hopes in the future of different things, goals that I wanted to do was my fifth grade year.

But I did have a picture of her together in fifth grade.

B, she had this amazing gift of being able to unlock the potential of these kids, these students of hers.

She, the way that she did it with me was she introduced me to the world of incentives.

And what I mean by that is I love incentives.

I am so motivated when I know that there's a prize waiting for me at the end when I do something.

And I didn't really know that up until that point, but she kind of figured that out, I guess.

And she did that a lot with me and also with the rest of the students.

Some of the incentives that I remember her having was, for example, if we got 100% on our spelling test, we got to eat 1 of her delicious homemade popcorn balls.

And another 1 that I remember is if we were able to get our assignment done well in a lot of time, we got to go play with 1 of the class pets.

And we had some pretty awesome class pets.

We had, well, she was a snake lover, so we had some snakes, and we had some lizards, and hamsters, and beany pigs, and it was a lot of fun.

And 1 incentive that I particularly remember is, I actually don't really remember what the task was anymore.

I think it had something to do with writing 10 book reports or something along those lines.

But the incentive was that for the first 4 that got it done, we got to go on a camping trip with her and her family.

I got to go with her and that year was just a really fun year I realized that I actually liked learning and I like school and different things like that and at the end of the school year I We got her yearbooks and I eagerly went up to her desk.

I still remember walking up to her desk and saying, oh, Mrs.

Because she had become just such this dear teacher to me.

And I will never forget the words that she wrote in my yearbook.

Your love for learning and knowledge will push you far.

You can do anything that you set your mind to doing.

And that stuck with me all the way until now, and that's what I want to share with you today.

That really, our minds, if we train, if they are rightly trained under the divine grace of Jesus, and under the greatest teacher that has ever lived, there is no limit to what we can achieve.

Turn with me to our first Bible passage, Matthew chapter 25, verses 14 through 30.

And this may be a familiar passage for many of you, but stick with me.

And let's all read through the passage and just really look at the story from a fresh perspective.
