And I love the Sabbath, I love Friday night because it's a wonderful time just to bask in God's goodness.

Why don't we begin with a word of prayer?

I know God is going to bless us with his Holy Spirit and give a message to us that's very personal.

Let's bow our heads and let's just take a moment of silence just to pray in our heart and ask Jesus to send the Spirit.

Father, you said in Psalm 46, verse 10, Be still and know that you are God.

Right now, God, we just want to pray and ask that our hearts would be still so that the voice of God could be heard.

We pray that our hearts would be so stirred that when we walk away from this place tonight, we will have known we have had an experience with heaven.

You know, it's oftentimes in messages like this that you can really expect that the devil's about to do something.

I never forgot, I went with a group of people to Pakistan, and when we went there, we were doing this, you know, it was a 10-day series, and the very night that I was making a baptismal appeal the very night I just knew the devil was up to something and sure enough right before I was about to preach I told the crew that I had come with look you pay attention you're about to see the spiritual battle take place on a level that will blow your mind away.

And sure enough, right as I was speaking, just God began to really touch hearts.

And as I got right down to the baptismal appeal, all of a sudden, all of a sudden, this guy who comes out of nowhere, he wasn't even a student there, he gets up and starts running back and forth right in front of me.

And during that time, everyone was distracted, they were paying attention to him, and as I was making that baptismal appeal, no 1 was watching.

And all of a sudden, some very loyal students jumped on that guy and there was a wrestling match that took place They wrestle that guy out and I told everybody pay attention because God is about to do something big and sure enough 120 people gave their lives to Christ that night.

God is up to something, and when God is up to something, be sure of this, that the devil is gonna try to interrupt, try to distract, try to take away your attention from the message, because he does not want you to be blessed by God's word.

I'm going to give you another announcement, and that is I am an Indian.

Some of you have noticed that over the course of the last 3 days.

And I come from a very unusual background.

Although they may seem contrary, in the Indian culture, in the land of India, it is called, oftentimes called the land of contradiction.

So in Indian culture, that makes perfect sense.

And so I also come from this unusual background of being a Punjabi.

We're from the area of Northeast India called Punjab, and Punjab is known for its warrior culture.

When the Muslims were trying to evade India It was the Punjabis that repelled them and sure enough Sikhism was born out of that invasion Sikhism is the culture or the religious culture that has the turbans They also have the knives And they also have special underwear.

And so this is the culture I came out of.

You see the warrior culture in a lot of the Indian ceremonies.

Several years ago, I went to my sister's wedding.

And right before the groom came, and the way the Indian weddings took place is this.

The bride would be waiting inside the place, and there the family would be waiting, and the groom would show up on a white horse and a sword.

And he would be surrounded by his groomsmen who would be like dancing Bhangra style all the way.

You know, like they do during Asian night.

Anyways, and so what happens is as the groomsmen comes up and there's like a dance face-off right there the bride's male relatives including her brothers will stand guard right at the very entrance of the hall and What takes place is a kind of ceremonial contour a con confrontation And so you have the groomsmen there, and they're all decorated in these beautiful things, and the music is playing, the white horse is there, and everyone's just dancing, and what happens is that the bride's male relatives are just standing there very, you know, just uptight and looking very fierce and ready for a fight.

And what happens at that moment is something called the milny.

There is, you have this moment where 1 of the male relatives will go over and he will go into the middle of this circle.

And 1 of the bride's male relatives, her brothers, her uncles, her cousins, will go forward and they will hand each other a blanket or a shawl.

At that moment, they give each other a hug and a contest takes place at that next moment.

And the job is to try, in a show of superiority, lift up the other guy.

And whoever can lift up the other guy wins that little tournament.

And so I had never done this before, and my cousins, they told me, you better win the milny.

They kept telling me that, you better win that, you are her older brother, this is your contest.

And I'm thinking to myself, okay, what am I up against?

I was told that 1 of the groomsmen was an American Judo champ.

I was hoping and praying that I didn't get him.

I said, God, help me to get a victory with my family.

You see, when I became a Christian, there was a lot of altercations between me and my family.

And so I was really praying that God would restore some things and show them that I'm very much the same Manel and Sure enough.

So what took place is my brother he went first He got into that little circle the their party was there our party was there They exchanged the gift They didn't take their eyes off each other.

And as soon as they exchanged gifts, all of a sudden they gave each other a hug.

And my brother, I hold this against him still to this day, he gets picked up and the guy just walks him over.

And my brother came back and I was like, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame.

And then they had my, then it was my uncle's turn, okay?

And you see my uncle comes like this, and their uncle, he's a bit overweight too as well, and they come up, they hand each other gifts, and then they pat each other, and they're like, okay.

And they lift each other up, and then they move apart.

Then it was my turn, and all my cousins, they're egging me on, they're just like, you better get this, you better get this, you better get this.

And I was like, Jesus, I need some help right now.

He's a little bit shorter than me, and I'm just like starting to breathe heavy.

And all of a sudden there was like this sumo wrestling match at Ensure's.

And I grab him And it was like I had the strength of Samson all of a sudden.

I grabbed him, I picked him up, and all of a sudden my relatives are like, ahh!

As soon as I turned around and everyone was just cheering, that guy, he charges me, okay?

And he hits me from the side trying to pick me up.

I just break just sort of a horse stance.

I pick him up and I walk him all the way over.

And we forgot who was getting married that day because everyone was just cheering.

You know, and it was just a very interesting cultural event that takes place every time somebody gets married.

And I've got to participate in a few of these.

Last time I was against this really short, older gentleman.

He actually ran away during that contest.
