AMEN Luncheon Session- Part 2

Due to the very exciting report and whatnot, I'm not sure exactly how much time I have left that someone can give me.

So we will not be using a PowerPoint that I prepared, but let me just share from my heart something with you.

You know, Elder Wilson talked about the fact that we need to have a blended ministry and the only way we're going to have that, I believe, is through an outpouring of the Holy Spirit with revival and reformation.

And that's the only thing that's going to happen, that's the only thing that's going to work.

But mine eyes have seen the glory as I've seen small things happen.

And I believe that God is working on hearts and minds and I believe that the culture is even helping with that.

It's giving us another chance to go back to a time period in Adventist history where my great-grandfather joined the church and that would be in the late 1870s.

He came and was there during that conference of 1888 and everything was working together at that time.

You had a health ministry with a physician who was known around the world and probably still is the most prominent Adventist physician that we've ever had.

You had a prophet, a living prophet, who had insight from health that he believed in and trumpeted and proved in the scientific literature.

You had, you had, you know, conference leadership that were working together and God saw that this, you know, God was pouring His Spirit out.

In fact, you have statements that the loud cry had begun.

This was in our seminar yesterday, Dave Fiedler and I went through that.

He brought in disunity, He brought in dismantling of a blended ministry and pretty much on and off it's gone back and forth that way for many years.

But I sense that God is doing something new in this time and in this place.

Let me tell you the most exciting thing that I've come across in terms of my Bible study and it's right in your hand.

Those 5 points are based on the biblical book of health that's also a prophetic book, It's the book of Daniel.

And there are 5 dates in that book that define who Adventists are.

There's the date 457, there's 27 AD, there's 31, there's 34 AD, and there's 1844.

Now what I recognized over the last 18 months since Elder Wilson and I talked, I was in transition from Amazing Facts, and we talked about a health evangelism school and whatnot.

They talked about the vision of comprehensive health evangelism, and I believe God was leading that way.

But what I didn't know was how profound the transition would be for me personally and I believe for the students that have come through our school and then some others.

Let me tell you why I say it's profound because what's happened in my mind, now I'm a, you know, fourth generation Adventist pastor and you'd think I'd heard everything, right?

But what I saw was something that I think has just revolutionized my own personal life and I hope it does yours and you'll have more time to think about it because I don't have much time to cover.

There is a connection that we have neglected in the Adventist church that I believe is coming back and that is every single 1 of those dates in that prophetic timeline is directly and organically linked to the message of health.

Christ said, God said, I want to have a sanctuary.

Take his, took his people captive to Babylon.

God said no, we need to have a health center.

You know, the sanctuary was a place everybody came to understand whether or not they were healthy or not.

Every single aspect of that sanctuary system was a picture of health.

God wants to have local centers of health.

He wants your sanctuary to be a center of health.

He wants my sanctuary to be a center of health.

He wants every Adventist home to be a center of health.

And I've seen how that works in a local church.

And we saw how the healing agencies were unleashed through a local congregation and brought healing.

The first thing God wanted to do was to rebuild a sanctuary of health.

Secondly, he came right on time and we make a big deal of the right on time.

But how did they know he was the Messiah?

Someone says, well, a dove came down and there was a voice.

But don't neglect the next chapter which is chapter 4.

He started to preach a message of health and then he delivered a message of health.

The reason they knew he was the Messiah, Acts 10, 37 and 38, is because he was anointed with the Holy spirit and with power.

Well, how do you know he had the Holy Spirit?

Because he went about doing good and healing all manner of sickness and disease among the people.

And that went on for 3 years, 3 and a half years.

He was healing, healing, healing, healing.

And the medical establishment loved him at the sanctuary.

They said, oh, no, they questioned his, everything about him.

In fact, 1 of His best miracles, raising Lazarus from the dead, they finally said, that's it.

It was the cross, the pivot point of history.

He had healed people physically 27 AD to 31 AD, but on that cross hanging between those 2 thieves he knew that he had to reach out to those 2 right then.

They hung between life and death and his heart went out to them.

And Desire of Ages says that the 1 thief remembered how he had healed all those people.

Now how does the New Testament, how does the New Testament talk about that event in terms of health evangelism?

Do you know what text it applies to the cross over and over and over and over again?

Look, Isaiah 53 is the pattern of emotional healing.

27 AD, the pattern of physical healing, but on the cross, emotional healing.

Look, Isaiah 53, When I'm dealing with depressed patients like I was all last week for 90 hours and I said listen to their stories I was abused I was abandoned I was neglected people who should have known better did things to me They never should have done.
