It’s About Time!

There's a young man, 19 years old, laying on his bed at home.

And this young man had been going through many things through his life, good times, bad times, many bad times.

And as he sat there, the thing that's been going through his mind the last couple of months is, you're letting the devil win.

This young man claimed to be a Christian, yet he wasn't.

And he had been impressed by the Holy Spirit that you're letting the devil win.

So, do you remember what you were doing October 10, 2012?

This young man was sitting on his bed and a thought came to his mind, you're letting the devil win.

And you know, he finally said openly, I'm letting the devil win.

And I finally made a decision, either I follow God or I just keep doing what I was doing.

That's my praise, I praise him every day that I chose that, and that He stuck with me.

And that's how I know that my Redeemer is faithful and true, is because even when we are rebellious, He doesn't let us go.

This Sabbath is actually a very special Sabbath to me.

It's very special because it's actually an anniversary.

December 15, 2012, I was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

This is 2 years later and I can't believe that I've been speaking for God and singing for God and teaching for God in those times.

Loving Father in Heaven, we thank You abundantly for all the many blessings that You've done for us, Lord.

We thank you for coming in the flesh to save us sinful beings.

And as Kenny has said earlier today, we are your plan to carry forth the message, which brings a great burden on us, Lord, and I just pray that you would strengthen us to carry forth this message to the ends of the world and that you would create within us a desire to do this and to spend time with you and learn who you are.

Bless us now Lord on this Sabbath day that we may glorify you and speak through me Lord for if I speak it is worth nothing but if you speak through me lives will be blessed and I pray that you would put a blessing upon each person that will hear this tape in the future in Jesus name I pray amen in my Bible I've done the honor of inscribing 1 of my favorite quotes.

It's actually, I think it's so important that I put it right in the front of my Bible when I open it up.

It's from councils to teachers, parents, and students.

And I think that this quote should be a quote that every Seventh-day Adventist ought to know because it's 1 of the most important and you'll see why when I read it.

It says, Seventh-day Adventists, above all people, should be patterns of piety, holy in heart and conversation.

Don't miss this next part, brothers and sisters.

To them have been entrusted the most solemn truths ever committed to mortals.

Let me read it again because it's so important.

That means that as Seventh-day Adventists we have been committed more solemn truths than Solomon, David, Elijah, Elisha, All the prophets of the Bible.

Every endowment of grace and power and efficiency has been liberally provided.

They look for the near return of Jesus in the clouds of heaven for them to give to the world the impression that their faith is not a dominating power in their lives is greatly to dishonor God.

I think that is a very, very profound verse.

You know, when I first came into the church, baptized 2 years ago, I came into the Sabbath school class and I thought, man, how am I ever going to learn anything?

All these people know so much and I know nothing about the Bible.

Within 4 months after I was baptized, I started reading the Bible 2 months before I was baptized when I made my decision, I finished the Bible.

And another 2 months later, I was teaching the Sabbath school class.

And as I began growing with my walk with God and teaching and learning and spending time with him, I began to realize, wait a second, why don't they know this?

And I began seeing there are Christians, Seventh-day Adventists, that don't know the message.

As a matter of fact, I'm going to venture in and say there are Seventh-day Adventists that are not truly Seventh-day Adventists.

They may know more stories than I know about Him, but yet they don't know him.

And the message today is entitled It's About Time.

First off, the message is about time, but also the other part is it's about time to wake up.

Let's turn to Revelation chapter 3, 14 to verse 22.

This is the church, the Laodicean Church, and this is something that I began to realize as I came into the church.

And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write these things, saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot.

So then, because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth.

Because thou sayest, I am rich and increased with goods, and have need of nothing, and knowest not that thou art wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich, and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear, and anoint thine eyes with thyself that thou mayest see.

If any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in with to him and will sup with him, and he with me.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame and am set down with my father in his throne.

He that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches." You know something very profound about the end of that verse.

Verse 22, He that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches." Does that remind you of anything maybe in the chapter, in the book of Matthew?

He attributes this parable, and I love parables, He attributes this parable to a wise man that built his house on the rock verse the unwise man that built it on the sand and he said him who hears these things of mine and does them is likened to the wise man.

The most important thing when it comes to learning about God, when it comes to being close to God, and reading the Bible and studying it, is that the light that we get, we do.

It's not about how much light you know, it's more about who you know and how much of that light that you know that you follow and apply to your life.

Now people that know me personally, know that I'm a type of person that likes symbols.

I like parables, I like stories, I like things that I can hold, that I can grasp.

That I like concrete things I can feel, and I like to pull spiritual implications out of simple things.

Time is something that once it's gone it's gone.

I'm going to read a quote from Child Guidance 312 paragraph 2.

God has appointed the church as a watchman to have jealous care over the youth and children, and as a sentinel, to see the approach of the enemy and give warning of danger.

But the church does not realize the situation.

In this time of peril, fathers and mothers must arouse and work as for life, or many of the youth will be lost forever." The thing that we are not seeing is that there is a specialized attack, not just on the youth, but there's a specialized attack on the youth in this day and age.

And so many fathers and mothers just let their youth do whatever they want.

And me being a youth myself, 19 years I was in the world doing all these things.

But just because you're on the books does not mean that you're saved.

Just because you're a 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th generation Seventh-day Adventist does not mean that you are saved." Another quote from Cole Porter ministry page 8 paragraph 3, we have no time to lose.

An important work is before us and if we are slothful servants we shall certainly lose the heavenly reward.
