My Redeemer is Faithful and True

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, that we should show forth the praise of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

Before I pray, I'd like to tell a quick story.

Just over 2 years ago, there's a young man 19 years old.

And this man was this boy laying in his bed, thinking about his life, how it's gone in the past and possibly what's the come of the future.

And you see this young boy, the thing that had been going through his mind is you're letting the devil win.

And this had been going through his mind the entire summer.

And every time that would happen, he'd go out and do something crazy, drinking alcohol, driving cars fast, listening to crazy rock music or the like.

But you know, something was different about this day.

Who here remembers what you were doing October 2012?

Well, October 10th, 2012, this young man, it was a Wednesday.

And every time before when he heard that voice, he pushed it off.

But this time he sat and thought and he admitted, I'm letting the devil win.

Loving Father in heaven, we abundantly thank you, Lord, for these times where we can meet together and fellowship 1 another in your name, Father.

I only pray, Lord, that it not just be my story that would go forth, Lord, but that your story would go forth and that you would speak through me for my own words profit nothing.

But your words, Lord, are the words of life.

So I pray now Lord that you would give me utterance and impress things upon my mind father and that you would create a desire in each person's heart to seek after you and to want to know you and to keep their attention.

So the first thing that I'd like to say, I find it very interesting.

When people give a testimony, normally what happens is the person gives it and there'll be all these extravagant things and such.

And then everybody else listening is like, well, not everybody, but some people are like, well, I don't got a story.

Has anybody here ever said, well, that person has a crazy testimony, but I don't have a story.

OK, and I you know, some people will tell me that some people tell you know, you know, you know who the people who have come out of the world, Mark Finley, Doug Batchelor, David Asher, you know, the list goes on and I'll say, well, I don't got a story.

Well, I'll tell you what, brothers and sisters, if a testimony is just a story of how great you are, you're right, you don't have a story.

But the reality is the testimony is not about you at all.

This testimony is not about me, it's about how great the love of my Savior is.

That's why I've entitled it, My Redeemer is Faithful and True.

You see, it's not our story, it's his story.

I actually just had a birthday not too long ago.

So, but I've been a Seventh Day Adventist for just over 2 years.

Like I said, October 10th, 2012 is when I was baptized.

I'm sorry, that's rather when I came to church, came to Christ first, I was baptized December 15th, 2012.

So just over 2 years and it's been nothing but blessings.

The other thing I'd like to say is there's some kind of false thing going around for people from people that are not in the church who here is there anybody here not a Seventh-day Adventist?

OK, there's something that the people always think when they come into the church, the thing that they think is that when they come in, it's going to be easy.

They always say, oh, well, you know, it's going to be easy now.

But you know what the interesting thing about that is?

There's always people in the church that think it's going to be easy going out in the world.

As a matter of fact, in some instances it got easier coming into the church, but in some instances it got a lot harder.

There's a lot of trials that we have to go through, but the difference is when we're in the church, we're in Christ.

He is our refuge and our Redeemer, and when you're in the world, you don't have that.

And that's quite literally as I will get to in a moment how my life was.

I'm currently a deacon for the Harrisburg First Seventh Day Adventist Church and it's such a blessing.

I have also taught Sabbath school And I've been an American Christian Ministries Bible instructor and revivalist.

And it's my privilege to be able to speak on their behalf and through them.

So my early life, I was adopted at the age of 1 week.

As a matter of fact, not only was I adopted, my whole family was adopted.

I have a younger brother that's 2 years younger than me and he's adopted and he's African American.

And I have a older sister by 3 years that was adopted.

She was actually left on a doorstop in Taiwan.

We actually don't know her real birthday.

It's just a guesstimation so We all came into a home That you know wanted to love those that they couldn't have children of their own.

And for a long time, my life was quite a blessing.

We had much family that loved us and that we'd play with and do different things with.

I believe it was called the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

And it was in a place called Hunter's Station.

Pretty much out in the middle of nowhere.

There's a state road going through it, but that's about it.

But anyways, it was right across from our house and our whole family used to go there together so it was all good, but as Things started going on.

I started to notice that Well, first off my parents stopped kind of going and then my brother stopped going and I was still there and then eventually I stopped going But you know my family my grandmother would still go and such.

So after a while, something happened where I got some kind of spiritual interest and I decided that I was going to go to church.

So This was probably around the years 13 to 16 years old.

And I started going back to church, I had been what's called confirmed into the church, which, if you can guess, pretty much meant I was saved, I guess.

Do you know what happens when you read your Bible?

Your eyes are opened and you see, I started reading my Bible.

I read I think I read all the Gospels and I read Revelation and I started seeing things that the church was teaching different.

And I thought, well, what's going on here?

No Seventh-day Adventists around me, nobody teaching me about the Sabbath or the State of the Dead.

And I thought I'm asking my pastor, why do we worship on Sunday?

You know, he gives the typical answer, Christ rose on Sunday and that we celebrate that for that.

And then I had questions about the state of the dead.
