Dear Father, we want to thank you again Lord for bringing us, for giving us life, for giving us the opportunity to study your word, for giving us so much knowledge, so much truth, Lord.

May we be faithful with what you've given us.

So today we're going to be continuing our talks, the talks that we have had over the last 2 days and today we're actually going to go over the acronym of New start and look at some health insights there.

Nino said, yes, my father is leaving in August to Venezuela as a mission pilot.

He's actually going with GMI with David Gates.

They, he's going there to replace a pilot that was abducted some years ago.

Yep, I don't know if you've heard of him.

He feels the call of the Lord to go there, so when you remember, keep him in prayers, as Venezuela right now is not the safest place, but we know that when God calls you somewhere, it's the safest place to be.

So, but do keep him in prayers nonetheless, when you remember.

So today we are talking about Newstart principles and wanted to ask, does anyone know, has anyone heard of Newstart before?

Has anyone never heard of Newstart before?

Okay, we have a couple here and there and everybody's looking around to see who that is.

We have some that haven't heard great, so this will be a great introduction and a great review for those that have heard it before.

Now you guys had it easy because you were reading it.

We get this from child guidance, well, 1 of the places you can find it in the Spirit of Prophecy, where it says, pure air, sunlight, abstemiousness, which is another word for temperance, rest, exercise, proper diet, the use of water, trust in divine power.

Every person should have a knowledge of nature's remedial agencies and how to apply them.

It is essential both to understand the principles involved in the treatment of the sick and to have a practical training that will enable 1 rightly to use this knowledge.

And you know we could actually spend a long time just breaking down this 1 statement and seeing what our duties as Bible believing Christians and spirit of prophecy believing Christians, what our duty is.

There's a lot here, but the main things that we see, the 7 true remedies that were given to us by whom?

By God, we should learn how to apply them, and It's essential to what both understand in the treatment of the sick and also to be trained and to be able to use them.

So not just theory but also practical knowledge.

So a lot of us perhaps have been learning a lot of theory, a lot of theoretical knowledge.

We go to many New Start lectures or whatever it is and we learn a lot.

We hear lectures from nutritionists and doctors and nurses or whatever it is and we learn a lot about healthy lifestyles.

But we are called to do more than just know but to live a lifestyle.

So, and that's our hope that we can actually apply these things in our lives.

Now I want to bring out that New Start, the New Start, these are not just a diet that we adopt for 1, 2 weeks, this is much more than that.

In fact, In the United States, according to the CDC, about 45 million Americans each year are dieting.

It's a good percentage of our population.

Yet 68% of people over 20 years of age are obese.

And 65% of dieters return to their pre-dieting weight within 3 years.

The whole concept of New Start was actually not made for it to be a diet, but rather a lifestyle.

God gave us these natural, these true remedies, these agencies to use so that we could live healthy lives and not have these ups and downs of, okay, well, I'll eat healthy now, and then next week I have my high school graduation coming up, my college graduation coming up, so I've got to watch the sugar or whatever it is, right?

And that's something that only God can help us do.

Now for those of you that were here yesterday don't answer at first okay for those of you that weren't here yesterday what is the purpose what is the main purpose of health reform?

Alright, That's good but it's a little vague.

Well, the verses that we kept seeing time and again, Isaiah 43, 7 and Revelation 4, 11, we were made to, we were made for the glory of God and then we saw in 1st Corinthians 10 31 that whether you eat therefore therefore whether you eat whether you drink do all to the glory of God and we saw how we we can the the part of the 3 angels messages and I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven having the everlasting gospel, is that fear God and worship him, right?

And same with a loud voice, give glory to God.

We are called to use health reform, but it's not just for an evangelistic tool.

It's even more than just for a clear mind, although that is definitely 1 of the purposes, but it is mainly for a spiritual connection with God.

Let's actually read this quote before I go into this.

Ministry of Healing 146 says, In teaching health principles, keep before the mind the great object of reform that its purpose is to secure the highest development of body and mind and soul.

Most times when we hear about health reform, 1 of the main things we talk about is hypertension, and prevention of cancer, and prevention of diabetes, or reversal of diabetes type 2, or whatever it is.

And we spend most of our time on these topics, do we not?

Is this not what health reform has become in our church?

The main purpose of Health reform is meant to strengthen our walk with God.

It is more than just what we eat and how we sleep.

It's a connection with God as our brother was saying.

We do this not for just the body or the mind but also the soul and this was the main purpose of health from yes yes that's another purpose yes now why is this important Proverbs 26 to you probably read many times the curse causeless shall not come.

Whenever something happens, you know, the Bible teaches cause and effect.

Things don't just happen all of a sudden.

There wasn't a big bang and the earth came about.

And when we get sick, there's usually a cause.

Now mind you, if you read in John 9, verse 3 or so, The disciples asked Jesus, this lame man, was it his sin or was it his father's sins?

But for the glory of God it was that this disease came upon him.

So Sometimes disease will come from a cause that may even be unclear to us.

Something that didn't even have to do with the way that we ate.

I have family members that will come to me and say, Hey, I heard of such and such a person, they've been vegan this many years, and they were just diagnosed with cancer.

And you know, they kind of say it to rub it in one's face, you know, see, you can be vegan and you can still get cancer.
