It's good to see a faithful, loyal core group here.

It really is more productive if people stay in a seminar all the way through than to go to this seminar, that seminar for an hour here and an hour there because you kind of don't get the flow of what's going on.

Is the cracking of Genesis the same as you're decoding the secrets of Genesis?

Well, there's some duplication of material.

But decoding the secrets of Genesis was done on VHS in 1997.

And we used the best technology available at the time, but it was 3 quarter inch analog, but now we did this fully digital and it's 52 lectures instead of 28.

All right, let's get into our study of the book of Joel.

Let's have a short word of prayer before we do.

Father in heaven, as we open up this magnificent book, we ask for the guidance of your Holy Spirit.

Lord, as I study this book, I've come to the conclusion that we have here a description of what is going to take place with your people during the time of trouble.

So there are lessons from this book which we need to learn and we need to know.

So I ask that you will bless us as we study it.

We thank you Father for hearing our prayer for we ask it in Jesus' name.

Allow me to give you first of all some introductory information about the book of Job.

The book of Job is the most ancient book of the Bible.

According to Ellen White It was written by Moses in the desert of Midian while he was tending Jethro's sheep.

The book of Job is a literary masterpiece.

When you really look at it only apart from being an inspired book of the Bible, when you look at it as literature, it is an incredible book.

The book was written approximately 2, 000 years before the birth of Christ.

Actually it was written 1500 BC, but it describes events that took place about 2000 BC in the early patriarchal period.

The book is written in prose in chapters 1 and 2, and once again it picks up in prose from chapter 42 and beginning in verse 7 till verse 12, the end of the book.

In the middle of the book, from chapter 3 all the way through chapter 42 verse 6, you have poetry.

In other words, you have an introductory prose section, you have a concluding prose section, and in between you have the larger poetry section.

Now as we examine the book, we notice that the whole universe is involved in this story.

And really this story is describing a trial, it's describing a court scene.

Well let's take a look at the elements of the story.

In the Bible, there is no separate defense attorney and judge.

The judge is to defend the innocent so the judge is the defense attorney he defends the innocence against the accuser let me ask you is there evidence that's being examined yes there is absolutely what is the evidence the the life of job that's right is there a jury who are the jury the sons of God according to that is there 1 who is accused who is the accused yeah that's right the accused is God we're gonna notice that that's that critically important detail is in the book of Job.

The accused, the devil is not accusing Job, he's accusing God.

Is there a verdict that condemns the accuser and vindicates the innocent?

Yes, but you only see that at the end of the book and there's something tremendous that has been missed by many as they study the book of Job.

The book of Job shows what's going to happen to the culprit and what is going to happen to Job who is the 1 accused.

Now basically Let's just go through the first 2 chapters because this sets the stage for what is going to take place in this book.

And we're going to go through these 2 chapters very quickly.

There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job.

That man was blameless and upright and 1 who feared God and shunned evil." Was Job a good man?

He was blameless, upright, feared God, and shunned evil.

You say, well, but that's what Moses is writing.

A little bit further on, we're going to see that God quotes this.

He says, have you not seen my servant Job?
