The Experience of the Peace of Justification

Justification, being right with God is something that whether you believe it or not, being young, some of you as young as you are, you may not even be concerned about, do I have a right relationship with God?

Am I under the care of God that he might fix me?

Because you may not even think you're broken, but if you understand the creation story, all of us are broken, amen, because we come from a broken man, and every descendant of Adam is broken.

But you may not feel that way, you may not sense that way.

In fact, when we witness, and I don't know how much you witness, but for all the years I've witnessed, I've never met 1 man or woman who somewhere in their testimony has talked to them about being saved, being born again.

I've not met 1 woman, 1 boy or girl that doesn't somewhere in that dialogue come up and say something like, well I do do this and I do do that and I don't go to church, but I'm not a bad person.

Not 1, I've not met 1 person, because man naturally believes, young or old, that he's not a bad person.

We believe we're good, but the gospel teaches us something is different.

And unless we realize we are unjustified, we will never seek to be justified.

But for the older, and even if you have an opportunity to be on a sickbed before you die, if you talk to people before or after the death of a person, there's a few things they'll say, but 1 of them they'll say to you is something like this.

And as you're young right now, you may not even understand even subjective peace, the peace with God, or peace of God.

But as you start getting older, you'll find out there's something you want more than anything else, and it'll be peace.

You're seeking after maybe cars and houses and land and all of these things.

They may be the number 1 thought in your mind right now, but as you get older, you'll find out what you really want more than anything else is peace.

And we find out peace is 1 of, 1 of the results or 1 of the benefits of being justified because the very passage that they picked for the meeting is, therefore being justified by faith, we have peace.

The very thing we've sought and want, we have it by being justified by faith.

I wanna talk to you a little bit about the experience of that and how it comes about from this marvelous epistle of Romans which is a beautiful I think we should study it over and over again wonderful passage given by inspiration of God and before we begin tonight I'd like to this morning I'd like to say a word of prayer.

Father, we just thank you so much for allowing all of us to be here.

We know it's by your grace, we know it's by your divine appointment that each of us are here.

So, Lord, we pray that you would be able to use this vessel of mercy that you plucked out of the fire and be able to impart to your people that which will be most beneficial to each 1 of them, Father.

Speak to our hearts, speak to our minds, settle it into us, and let it be so is our prayer in Jesus name amen in the book of Romans if we were to bake break it up in sections we could break it up in like 6 sections there would be chapter 1 of Romans verses 1 through 16 we could call it probably the introduction in the theme and Paul begins to introduce what he's going to talk about and he introduces it right from verse 1 he talks about the gospel of God who is the originator of the good news so He couldn't even wait even in the first verse he begins to introduce it so the first party starts with his introduction and theme and a theme in Romans 1 16 and 17 is I am NOT ashamed of the gospel of Christ some of you May be ashamed to tell people you're Christian some of you may be ashamed to pray in public Some of you may pray when you're right and went before you drive or before you take your trips But then when certain friends are in the car with you you might be ashamed Well Paul starts off this marvelous epistle and says, there's nothing to be ashamed of.

In fact, if you're ashamed of the gospel, then you haven't come to a clearer understanding of what really you should be ashamed of.

We should be ashamed of how we are, and not what the gospel has done for us or what God has accomplished through Christ for us.

So he starts off with his introduction and theme and then he launches right into what the gospel is saving us from from Romans 1 18 to 3 20 and he says those who reject the gospel Don't know that they're under the wrath of God They don't know he starts with the pagan world moves to the Jew moves to the the the Gentile who just may believe they're practicing righteousness by the conscious or the law written in the heart, but what he convinces everybody from Romans 1 18 to 3 20 is he wants to show something.

Turn to Romans chapter 3 if you have a Bible And you can see he concludes this section with a marvelous statement.

And I'm just moving forward to get to that we're justified by divine power and not human effort.

Romans chapter 3, when you get there with me say Amen.

And if you look down he says something in chapter 3 in verse 9 as he's making this argument he says What then?

I think he's moving from the Gentiles to the Jews that have the law, on to the man who thinks he's pretty good.

And then he gets to the Christians and himself and Rome.

And some of you may think you're better than others.

He says, in no wise for from everything before this, he says, for what we have before proved, What does he prove?

That both Jews and Gentiles, that they are what?

You may think you are your own master right now if you have not submitted to the righteousness which is of God by faith.

If you've not been born again, you may think you're in control or in charge of your life.

But if God is not in charge, then Satan is in charge.

And Jesus said, because somebody told me last week, the world is gray.

And I told him, it is in your world, but it's not in Christ's world.

In Luke 11, 23, Jesus says, he divided the world in 2 categories.

He said, You're either with me or against me.

You're either gathering into the kingdom or scattering abroad.

He says there are 2 paths, but only 1 way.

There's a broad way that many are following.

There's a narrow way that few are following.

Your house is either built on stone or it's built on sand.

And Jesus clearly said in John 14 6 I am the way and anybody who does not sense or feel or know they need Christ right now is lying according to Romans 1 18 to 3 20 under the wrath of God which means if you are to die without Accepting Christ as your salvation without recognizing you need God to fix you that you cannot Fix yourself you may act good at times, but you are in danger of snapping Yeah, I've seen the program snapped if you haven't they got 1.

They have 1 that says, at any time, your mama can snap.

They even have it where people kill their BB something.

People are killing they best friends, amen.

So they're showing you that at any time, humanity can snap, Amen.

And we need someone to justify us, to set us right, to put us right, to make us right.

Now it's a valid question and it's asked all throughout the ministry.

In fact, if you don't understand justification from a theological or a studying standpoint, all you have to do is kind of follow Jesus along.

And when you see Jesus, he comes along preaching the gospel of the kingdom, And then he shows you what the gospel is doing or what the gospel is capable of doing and what he does is he goes to every city and village in town Destroying or showing that the gospel which is the power of God to salvation Romans 1 16 is stronger than the power of darkness.

So he goes in towns and villages and he specifically picks people and he takes the challenge of dealing with darkness head-on.

He takes a man that once the Pharisees brought to a synagogue with a withered right hand, Hand withered up.

And guess what the gospel was able to do?

Make him right, put him right, set him right.

A woman came to him with an issue of blood.

He didn't create her to be hemorrhaging in blood.

And when she came to him believing him, just touching his garment stopped the flow.

He met a man that was dumb as they say couldn't talk and you don't know how that feels because you can talk But if you lived your whole life not able to communicate what you're thinking by words you would know the blessedness of the gospel when Jesus says talk and now you can talk or if you came to him and you had no eyes in your sockets and God put eyes in your sockets that you might be able to see that's what justification is God put restoring in man what he created him to be and he created man for glory.

I remember somebody was showing me a movie once called 300 and this guy stood up and he inspired me.

He said to them, Spartans, prepare for glory!

Man, that went through my, oh, it made me shiver.

He said, Spartans were born to fight, amen.

And Jesus Came to restore the glory of God in man And how does he do it how does he accomplish it By taking on the very thing that Satan claims dominion over he takes on human flesh Amen, and he shows us that if a human will believe in God by faith The power of God You name it with the faith and your faith does not merit anything It's just a hand that grabs hold to the power of God or the Word of God or the ability of God It's no merit in your faith, but when a man believes God The things that used to be impossible are now possible.
