I was so blessed to know that they were able to come with me from Central California to be able to minister to here to you in Loma Linda.

Why don't we start with a word of prayer?

Let's ask God to bless us in a very special way.

Father in heaven, Thank you so much for being the light of the world.

And like the Bible says, the light that lights every man's world.

Jesus, we just thank you that you are a bright light in a world full of darkness.

And thank you, God, that you are leading us safely home if our eyes are upon you.

Jesus, we pray and ask that you would bless us in a special way, that you would share with us your faithfulness and your goodness and your righteousness.

We also pray for the greatest of all teachers and preachers, the Holy Spirit to be present.

Just a special thank you to Loma Linda University, Advent Hope, and Campus Hill Church.

Although I miss my home church series where I pastor at, it is still a wonderful experience to be able to be here, to meet so many wonderful people, and to eat some Very good food.

The closest thing we have to healthy food in Ceres Modesto is Taco Bell.

So that lets you know what kind of health community we really are.

I'm really thankful that God has been sharing some wonderful things during this restoration time.

I'm also going to be sharing my testimony this morning.

I was born and raised in Southern California in 1979, which makes me the age of 34.

The gray hairs are starting to pop out over here, some on my beard, and even in the unibrow as well.

And I was born and raised between 2 different cultures.

You can obviously see that I'm Indian, but I talk like a Westerner most of the time.

Down in Southern California, Orange County, which is just about an hour from here, I was raised in a very traditional Indian home.

I'd go outside and it was a very Western world.

Inside my house, India, outside my house, Detroit.

I come from a very interesting kind of culture.

My parents immigrated a year before I was born, 1978.

And I come from a very interesting kind of religious background.

They also would go to the Sikh temple occasionally on Sundays.

I used to wear the Sikh bracelet as well.

I also come from a Hindu background as well.

Inside my home, there was various statues and idols.

And we would go occasionally to the Hindu temple.

I also come from a certain sect of Hinduism something that is called Satsangi which is considered a kind of philosophy that emphasizes certain thing in the Hinduism and that is meditation and reincarnation.

I knew about haystacks and potlucks well before I became an Adventist.

And so this is how I grew up down in Southern California.

Inside my house was a very traditional home.

My family was, as I said earlier in 1 of the meetings, very academically inclined.

I have another brother who just finished up his masters at USC.

So my family at a very early age was taught to value education.

My parents for fun would take us to the library of all places.

They notice nothing but the B+, even though you get rest of everything else being A's.

And so this is kind of the background that I came from, a very traditional Indian mindset.

And being here in Loma Linda, I've come across a lot of Indian people, South Asians.

It's good to know that I have brothers and sisters here as well.

But what was very interesting growing up is that I was somebody who was sort of like the black sheep in the family.

You know, while everybody was studying, I would oftentimes be playing video games for about 8 hours a day.

And that did not warp my brain, yeah right.

In fact, I was very normal, very average.

My sisters were doing my dad's taxes in their preteens.

That's the kind of family that I come from, stressing high educational values.

And so as I was growing up I would oftentimes be thinking about bigger things in this world.

I'd also think about what was my purpose in life.

In my house there was these pictures of these various gurus who had long beards and big bellies and I'd always think to myself, is that God?

But you see, this is how a lot of people growing up don't understand who God really is.

This is the only picture they have about divine things.

And so based upon that picture determines also their behavior or their religious inclinations.

This is why sharing the Bible with people is extremely important because it opens up the most beautiful picture of love there is on earth.

And so, when I was age 13, I began to do something very interesting.

Every year, around August time, down in that little city called Artesia, they would celebrate India's Independence Day, okay?

And they would have this huge Indian fair.

You wouldn't see any other kinds of Americans except for Indians for miles.

And so, every year around August, I would go through these various boots at this fair, and I would get all the free things.

I'd go around with this little bag that said, I love India, and I would go to 1 booth, and it would have Dr.

Singh's medical practice, and here's a free pencil.

And I'd get that pencil, and I'd go to Mr.

Patel's tax service, and I'd go to that booth.

And I'd get all sorts of free things but something unusual took place at the age of 13 something I never forgot I was going around this fair 1 year and as I was making way around the booths getting all the free things all of a sudden I came across an unusual kind of booth.

And there was little stairs leading into this small boat.

And I'm scratching my head, I was with my little sister, and I was thinking to myself, what in the world is this little boat doing in the middle of this Indian fair?

And I went inside, I never forgot what I actually witnessed.
