Hello friends. Welcome to the Seed Pod for kids. Thank you for joining me today as we spend time with our friend Jesus. Spending time with Jesus is the best way to start your day. Let's begin our time together praising him. Do you attend church? The wonderful thing about attending a local church is that you're able to worship with other believers. You all come together to learn and talk about God. It's a place to be challenged, encouraged, and most of all loved. That is who God is first. John four 16 says, God is love and he who abides in love, abides in God and God in him. When we come together to worship, we have the wonderful opportunity to show love to God and also to other believers Chrysler and for yes, Lord. Yes. We only have four more books of the Bible to memorize before we know the whole Old Testament. Did you know that We're getting so close? So we're gonna work on those last four books this week. Here we go. Zaya, Haggai Zacharia. Malachi. Can you say that with me? Zaya Haggai. Zacharia. Malachi. It's kind of fun. It's almost like a poem, huh? Zeniah. Haga. Zacharia. Malachi. Here we go. Say it right after me. Zeniah, Haga, Zacharia. Malachi, you are doing a great job. So who wrote the book of Zeniah? Do you know? I'll give you a guess. It starts with a Z. Yeah, Zeniah did. In the first verse, he tells us that he came from Hezeki. In other words, Hezekiah was his relative. And who was Hezeki? He was the king of Judah. He was Zephaniah's great, great grandfather. Now, here he is another prophet who is telling the nation of Judah that there's going to be a lot of tribulation that's coming, but then the Messiah will come. So there is hope. I love the verse in Zephaniah chapter two, verse three that says, seek the Lord all unique of the earth, who have upheld his justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of the Lord's anger. Now, the reason why I like this verse, I know it might kind of seem strange, but the reason why I like it is because there is going to come a point where things are going to be destroyed. But those who love God, those who look for righteousness, who go after righteousness, those who seek humility, they are going to be hidden in the day of the Lord. Isn't that neat? Yeah. So let's go through these four books once more. Here we go. Zeniah, Haggai, Zacharia, Malachi Zeniah, Haggai, Zacharia. Malachi, good job. Let's start at the beginning. Here we go. We're gonna start with Genesis and go all the way through to the end. Are you ready? We'll just do it once, starting with Genesis. Say it with me if you can. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, judges Ruth, first and second. Samuel. First and Second Kings. First and second Chronicles. Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, song of Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Jose, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahham, Habak. Here we go, Zephaniah, ha, guy, Zacharia. Malachi. Great job. We'll keep practicing it this week and we'll continue going over it for the rest of the quarter. Hey, I am glad that you guys are back with me today as we start off this new week. It's a pretty good story. This week we're gonna talk about the foolish builders. So before we get started, let's bow our heads and pray. Lord, thank you for this time. We have together. Send your Spirit to be with us and to lead us and guide us in Jesus' name. Amen. After the floodwaters had gone down and Noah, his family, were finally out of the ark, the first thing they did was, thank God for keeping them safe. Have you ever thanked God for safety? It's such a good thing to remember and to do that when you are thankful for the way that he provided or he led or he took care of you, that you stop and you thank him. God gave them a promise of a rainbow in the sky. What was that promise? It was that he would never flood the whole world again. Remember? Yes. Well, now it was time for them to get to work. What do you suppose they did? First? Build a house, maybe plant a garden, maybe build a barn or a pen to keep the animals there. I don't know, but they were busy. I am sure you know my husband, he loves to do survival skills or to learn about survival skills, to teach it to my boys. And imagine what would happen if we got lost. How would we survive? And he loves all those stories. I'm one of the people that I'm like, if we got lost, we would just die because that's what happens to everybody else. Not really, but I'm the person that's like, do we have to think about that? And he's like, what are our survival skills? And so I'm gonna ask you, what are the survival skills or the most important things that you need to know if you were to ever get lost out in the wilderness? Do you know what the first thing is? They say, now this is, they as in I did a Google search. They say it's fire and then it's shelter, and then food and water. Now, a lot of times people can't get a fire going. So if you can't get a fire going, the most important thing is shelter. Making sure that you have a place that you're protected from the elements. Maybe if it's really cold, a bunch of pine bows and pine needles and leaves that you're able to crawl into so that you're warm if you are, if it's summertime, then some shade so that you don't get dehydrated too quickly. The next thing is food and water. It's important to find food or to have some food that you're able to eat to keep you going. Well, those are survival skills. I'm sure Noah had to use some survival skills coming off of that arc. They were busy building their house and doing all of the different things that they had to do, like the garden and and taking care of all the animals. It was a lot of work. And they were busy. But don't forget, no. And his family were not the only ones who were busy after they left the ark. Satan was busy too. Now, he hated God even more than ever. He was determined that he and his angels would do all that they could to again, make people believe in him and his lies that he told about God. You know, in heaven and also in our world, before sin came, the angels and Adam and Eve, they were perfectly happy. They naturally obeyed God's law. In fact, no one even thought about rules. It was just that's what you did and you were happy. Well, after Lucifer sinned, things were different In heaven. Each angel chose whether to believe God or to believe Satan. And most of them chose to be loyal to God. But when Satan lied to eve, she chose to believe him instead of believing God. Ever since then, it has been natural for us to disobey God. It's kind of like a natural rule or a natural law. Have you heard of the law of gravity? It's where you throw something up in the air and it's just natural. This is what happens. It's gonna fall back down. Think about a ball. You were to throw it up. And my son, he likes to throw balls a lot. And so when he throws it up in the air, it comes back down. I remember we were on vacation and we were camping at a campsite, and my husband and I were putting up the tent, and the boys were much, much younger at that time. I think my youngest was probably like three, and he was playing with this stick, and he would throw the stick up in the air and then watch it fall down. And he was having so much fun until the stick fell and hit him on the nose. And he ended up having this huge gash across the bridge of his nose. And so for the rest of the vacation, we had pictures of him with this gash. And even to this day, he has a slight scar. You can see if you look really closely, he has a scar from where he was watching something fall back down. Well, that's kind of like sin. Sin now that we, now that Adam and Eve have sinned, I should say. Now it's natural for all of us to disobey God. That's what's normal. And we can obey God, but only if we have his power doing that work inside of us. Otherwise, we're going to disobey. We must never forget boys and girls that we can choose. Yes, it is a law. It is a law that what goes up will come down. When we sin, when Adam and Eve sinned that first time, now we always disobey God, but we have a choice to make. We don't have to obey Satan. God will always help us. Isn't that that exciting? Yes, God is there to help us to obey. We cannot do it on our own. We are sinners because of eve sinning we now sin to. But praise the Lord that he is there to help us. Let's look up Psalm chapter 18 verse six. Psalm chapter 18 verse six. It's in the middle of the Bible, that great big book, 150 chapters. We're gonna go to Psalm chapter 18, and then look for those little numbers. Verse six, Psalm chapter 18, verse six. If you need more time, just press pause, and when you're ready, press play again. Psalm chapter 18, verse six. Here's what it says. In my de-stress, I called upon the Lord and cried out to my God. He heard my voice from his temple, and my cry came before him even to his ears. Isn't this an amazing verse? When we cry out to God, what does he do? He hears us and he comes to our rescue. He hears our voice. Isn't that wonderful? Now, let's flip over to Psalm 107. 107. I am looking it up to Psalm chapter 107. Go more toward the back of the Bible. Let's see, Psalm a hundred and five, six, seven. I found it. Did you find it? Psalm 107. And then we're gonna look at verse 19. So I'm looking down, looking down. All right. Here's what it says. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble and he saved them out of their tresses. It says that when they cried out to the Lord, he saved them of their distress. God is here for you when you are in trouble. When you call out to God, he wants to help you. But you know, boys and girls, he doesn't force us. He doesn't say, you need to follow me, or you know that's not right. You need to do what I say. No, he gives us the choice. Aren't you glad? He loves you so much and he wants you to choose to obey him? I wanna choose him, don't you? Let's ask him right now. Lord, thank you so much for your promise that when we call out to you, you hear us and that you save us. Thank you for that. Help us to choose you each and every day. We love you Lord. Amen. Our new memory verse today is Psalm 53, verse two. God looks down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there are any who understand who seek God. Now, I wanna do something a little different today cuz this is kind of a fun thing. So here we go. When we say God looks down from heaven, why don't you put your hand up over your eyes like you're looking and look down. God looks down from heaven upon the children of men, children, let's do kind of like you have your hand out and it's like you're measuring how tall a child is, and then the next child's a little smaller. So your hand goes down a little bit and down a little lower. Look upon the children of men to see. Take both pointer fingers, point them and point at your eyes to see if there are any who understand. Now, point at your F, at your temple, at your forehead, who understand who seek God. And let's open our hands like a Bible. Okay, so God looks down from heaven. Put your hand over your eyes like you're looking down upon the children of men, like you're measuring how tall a child is right next to you. Children of men, maybe two kids in front of you to see, point to your eyes to see if there are any who understand. Now, point to your head who seek God. Open your hands up like you're reading a book, the Bible who seek God. Good job. Let's sing the memory verse together. Psalm 53, 2, Starting with Jesus is the most important thing you can do for your child. But what about us as busy moms?
