<p>We have lots of building projects that we have been apart of since living out here in Arizona. We have constructed a metal building, we have renovated a church, and we are now preparing to build a studio apartment for guests to come and stay with us. I have discovered that all building projects are a lot of work! You have to gather all the materials/supplies then you have to hire the workmen to do the building, and finally you have to actually build it! This week we are talking about a BIG building project for God!</p>

Hello friends. Welcome to the Seed Pod for kids. Thank you for joining me today as we spend time with our friend Jesus. Spending time with Jesus is the best way to start your day. Let's begin our time together praising him. The second parable that this song come you Thankful People Come, is based on is the seed that grows, but no one knows how. God has put into each little seed a spark of life. It can be dried up and look dead, but when the conditions are right, it starts to grow. Within just a few days, leaves appear the plant grows stronger and bigger and finally puts forth fruit. The same can be set of people. They may appear to not have interest in God or his spiritual things, but when the timing is right, they start to learn about God. They give their hearts to him and then they're safe in his kingdom, just like the harvest that is put safely in the barn On free Welcome to hide His word, a special program where we take a few minutes to hide God's word in our hearts. Let's go ahead and get started. Let's review Psalm 91, verse nine and 10. Try to say it with me because you have made the Lord who is my refuge, even the most high, your dwelling place, no evil shall be fall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. Good job. Let's say that again because you have made the Lord who is my refuge. Even the most high, your dwelling place, no evil shall be fall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. Good job one more time because you have made the Lord who is my refuge. Even the most high, your dwelling place, no evil shall be fall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. Good job. Let's start at the very beginning, Psalm 91, verse one, and let's go all the way through verse 10. You ready? Try to say it with me. He who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress, my God. In him I will trust. Surely he shall deliver you from the snare of the Fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with his feathers and under his wings you shall take refuge. His truth shall be your shield and Buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste. At noon day, a thousand may fall at your side and 10,000 at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look and see the reward of the wicked because you have made the Lord who is my refuge. Even the most high, your dwelling place, no evil shall be follow you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. You are doing such a great job. Let's keep practicing and reviewing. You could always practice throughout the day so that you can hide God's word in your heart. Have you ever watched something be built, maybe a house? When we were little, we used to go through a neighborhood that was just being developed and just being built, and so you would see the first, you would see the foundation that was poured, and then pretty soon they would start adding more boards and siding and flooring, and then they would add windows and then, oh, everything the roof. It took a long time, but it was so fascinating to watch. You know, it takes a lot of work to prepare for a building project. You have the plans of what you're going to do. Then you have to gather all the material, and then you have to start building and you have to make sure you have builders and workers and ugh, the list goes on and on. We're gonna learn about a special building project that David started preparing for for his son Solomon. Let's pray first though. Thank you Lord for giving us talents, for giving us things that we're really good at. Help us to use those talents for you. Help us to be faithful to you and to honor you, and as we study this story, help us to learn more about how much you care for us. In Jesus' name, amen. David wanted very much to build a beautiful temple where the arc could be placed, where people could come in worship, because remember, the tabernacle was still the same one that God had given Moses plans for and that they had built out in the wilderness. It was portable. Well, now that Israel was established as a country, it was time to build a temple, but through Nathan, God had told David, no, you are not to build it, but your son, Solomon, he's the one who I have chosen to build it. Even though David didn't get to build the temple, God helped him to make the plans for every little part of it, all the details. Let's look at verse Chronicles chapter 28, verse 19. That's where we're gonna go today. Now this might be a little challenging to find First Chronicles. Let's see, we have First and second Samuel, first and Second Kings, first and second Chronicles, and then Ezra, Nehemiah Esther. So we're going to first Chronicles. It's there in the Old Testament. First Chronicles chapter 28 verse 19. First Chronicles chapter 28, verse 19. Let's see what that says. All this said David, the Lord made me understand in writing by his hand upon me all the works of these plans. So who gave David the plans? God did, and David also started to gather the materials that Solomon would need to build. It's sometimes very challenging to get materials out here. We had a building project that we did and we went and we ordered some materials, and because of all of Covid and everything, we had to wait for months and months. They're like, okay, it should be here in mm, about eight weeks. We said, okay, so we waited. Eight weeks came and eight weeks went. It wasn't until eight months later that we were finally able to go and pick up the supplies so that we could be ready to build. So David decided that he was going to prepare all the supplies and get it all ready so that Solomon could build when he was ready. Let's look at first Chronicles chapter 22. So we're actually going back a little bit in the Bible. We were in 28. Look at first Chronicles chapter 22, and then let's read verse five, just that one verse verse five, and then we're gonna skip down and read verse 14. Okay, I know you can do this. First Chronicles chapter 22 verse five, and then we'll read verse 14. Here's what it says Now, David said, Solomon, my son is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for award must be exceedingly famous and glorious throughout all countries. I will now make preparation for it. So David made abundant preparations before his death. Indeed, I have taken much trouble to prepare for the house of the Lord. 100,000 talents of gold, 1 million talents of silver and bronze and iron beyond measure for it is so abundant. I have prepared timber and stone also, and you may add to them. So was it easy for David to get all these materials? No. In fact, the Bible says, I have taken much trouble to prepare for the house of the Lord and then goes through a list of everything he had to get. There was a lot of building materials that he had to collect. Now, Solomon was king. David gave the temple plans to him, told him just what to do. He also reminded him that this temple was to glorify God, not Solomon. Look at one Chronicles chapter 29. So we're going back few chapters, chapter 29, verse one. What does it say? Furthermore, king David said to the assembly, my son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen, is young and inexperienced, and the work is great because the temple is not for man, but for the Lord God, This temple was for the Lord. David knew that he would die soon and that Solomon would miss him. He reminded Solomon that God would be his father if he chose to trust and obey him. That's what first Chronicles chapter 28, verse six and seven says, now, God said to me, it is your son Solomon, who shall build my house and my courts for I have chosen him to be my son and I will be his father. Moreover, I will establish his kingdom forever if, if he is steadfast to observe my commandments and my judgments as it is this day. Isn't that a wonderful promise? God was going to be with Solomon and only one thing could change that promise? Do you remember if what? If Solomon continued to follow love and obey God, then he would be able to have a kingdom that lasts forever. But if he chose to not obey God, to not be steadfast to God's commandments and his judgments, then guess what? God could not give him the kingdom. God could not establish his kingdom forever. So David gave Solomon a special command, an encouragement. He says in verse nine, as for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father and serve him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind. For the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intents of the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever. I'm sure as Solomon looked at those plans for the temple as he thought about being king over Israel, the big responsibilities that he would have after his father died, he must have wondered if he would be able to be a good king. His father reminded him that he didn't have anything to worry about as long as what he trusted God. David had learned that when we trust Noey, God, there is nothing to be afraid of. Look at one Chronicles Chapter 28, verse 20 verse Chronicles, chapter 28, verse 20. I love this verse. Let's hear what it says, And David Sets says, son Solomon, be strong and of good courage and do it. Do not fear nor be dismay for the word God. My God will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord. Did you know that these words are for us today? We can be strong, we can be of good courage. We can do the hard job that God calls us to do in His strength, through His power, because he will be with us. He will never leave us or forsake us, boys and girls. We want to be faithful in the little things and as we do, God will give us more and more and bigger and better until we can look back on our life and go, wow, what God has accomplished, what God has done, because I chose to surrender and give my heart and my life and my actions to him. I can't imagine anything better. It's the best thing that we could ever do or say at the end of our lives. God is faithful. He loves us. He will be near to us. We can be strong and of good courage. Isn't that great? Let's pray. Lord, please help us to be faithful to you, to be strong, to be obedient, and thank you for your promise that you will never forsake us, that you are with us. You will help us to do the job that you have called us to do. Thank you for your love and your care today. Jesus name, amen. All Things, all things, all things come from you and all your own.
