God Used It. It Worked. You Try It.

May I see your hands if it does not encumber your eating, all right?

And I assume many others who are not yet here have engaged in research and you have written papers and you've wished and hoped that your name could be first on the list of authors of that paper.

Now, you know that the value or the worth of the scholarship of your results is based to some degree on the method you followed in arriving at your conclusions.

You must follow a certain method or your colleagues from far and near will quickly dismiss your results, much to your everlasting embarrassment.

When 1 group who follows a particular school of thought wants to undermine the other group, which happens all the time in academia, you simply say the results or the design of the study was flawed.

How you do something is important with regard to the outcome of that which you do.

Now this also applies in the study of the Bible and it is the disregard of the rule of procedure that leads so many people to come to conclusions that the Bible does not recognize neither does the Holy Spirit.

When studying the Bible, rules, guidelines, and principles must be followed or you will end up in a quagmire of error and try to pull people into it with you.

I will give you 2 fundamental principles and our subject is the horror of horoscopes or you can also call it what happens when you die 2 fundamental principles of Bible study 1 whatever you're studying begin your study at the earliest place in the Bible where that subject appears.

Let us say that you're studying righteous or righteousness.

You don't begin in Romans 8 verse 3, for what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin condemns it in the flesh that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us.

You must begin where righteous is first used.

Genesis chapter 7 verse 1, and the Lord said unto Noah, come thou and all thy house into the ark for thee have I seen righteous you begin your study of righteous or righteousness in that context If you wanted to study the expression the Word of God you begin in Genesis 15.

After these things the Word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision saying fear not Abram I am thy shield and thy exceeding great reward.

The law of first mention tells us when studying any subject in the Bible begin where that subject is first introduced and what that does it provides you with an anchor that holds you steady as you trace that subject through the rest of the Bible.

You cannot pick 1 Bible verse and say, the Bible says.

But in terms of the plenitude of the Word of God that is not what the Bible says that's what that verse says we must learn to study some from Genesis some from Revelation some from Job some from Thessalonians some from Isaiah some from Matthew then we know what the Bible says.

That is principle number 1 at 17 minutes after 12.

Principle number 2, always use a clear easy passage to explain a difficult passage.

Do not reverse the process or you will end up in difficulty.

Always use a clear easy verse to explain an unclear and confusing verse.

Let me give an example of Christ using principle number 1 begin at the beginning when Jesus met 2 disciples on the road to Emmaus in Luke chapter 24 and he was explaining to them why he had to die they were confused the Bible says in verse 27 of Luke 24 and beginning at Moses and all the prophets he expounded unto them in all the scriptures beginning at Moses which is a reference for Genesis Exodus Leviticus Numbers Deuteronomy that is where Jesus began to show how the Bible is a story about Him and that it had been prophesied that He would have to die and rise again all the things that happened on what is called Passion Weekend He began at Moses then moved on to the prophets It was a systematic study beginning at the beginning.

Even in nature I told you a few nights ago, how does corn grow?

First the blade, then the ear, then the full horn in the ear.

Now here's Jesus using the second principle, use a clear verse to explain an unclear verse or use that which is easy to understand to explain that which is difficult to understand.

In Mark chapter 12 from verse 13 to 17, the Pharisees come to Jesus to trip him up as usual in his words and they said, is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar?

The Romans hated having to police the Jews because of all conquered peoples, the Romans had more trouble from the Jews.

And he said to them in verse 16, Whose is this image and superscription?

Now all the audience knew what a penny was.

They weren't sure whether to give tribute to Caesar or not but they knew what a penny was.

Jesus said bring me something that you understand, something simple and so they brought him a penny, a coin and he said now whose image is on this coin?

Then Jesus explained, give Caesar was his and give God's was his.

In the parables Jesus used that which was simple and familiar to explain things people could not understand.

Another parable spake unto them, The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven which a woman took and hid in 3 measures of meal till the whole lump was leavened.

They understood leaven in flour, but they did not understand the kingdom of God.

So Jesus used the simple a sower went forth to sow seed.

The kingdom of God is like a man looking for precious pearls.

Use that which is clear, simple, beyond dispute in its meaning to explain that which is difficult, Hard to understand, maybe controversial because of our limitations, not because the Spirit has any problem.

Now why am I going through this lengthy introduction which brought us down to 1221?

Because the subject I will talk about briefly today is 1 in which these basic principles are violated routinely and in consequence of that violation people arrive at conclusions that are erroneous and potentially fatal to their eternal destiny.

And I'm talking about what happens to people after they die.

Father, the subject is serious because so many people are deceived for the sake of Christ because you have an interest in people knowing the truth please father I ask again give us your spirit to enlighten our minds our eyes and soften any opposition that may exist in this place.

Genesis 2, 7 the Bible says, And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.

Let us examine how God formed the first human being.

He formed him from the dirt, And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, that which you walked on, on your way here.

And then he breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.

We have something from the earth and we have something from heaven.

The life or the breath came from heaven the physical material came from the earth and the combination simply means that it is via the use of the physical that we see the expression of the life within a person.

I don't mean to embarrass you but let me quote a text that is embarrassing.

Genesis chapter 2 verse 19 will tell us that God made animals the same way.

The Bible says, "...and out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the earth and every fowl of the air.

The same way out of the ground for mankind, out of the ground for animals.

We must understand this if we will understand what happens when people die.

Now Let's see if animals have the same breath that people have.

Ecclesiastes chapter 3 reading from verse 19.

As we continue, what happens when you die are the horror of horoscopes.

In Ecclesiastes 3.19 the Bible says, For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts.

Befalleth is an expression that simply means it happens to you.

What happens to a man happens to an animal.

There is no difference in the way a dog dies from the way I die.

I can get hit by a car and die, dogs get hit by cars and die.

I can be shot and die, dogs are shot and died.

I can be poisoned and die, Dogs are poisoned and died.

We die the same way the verse goes on to say.
