Mystery of Godliness Vs. Mystery of Iniquity

Thank you for your wonderful people and your wonderful family that you have given birth to here in Loma Linda.

Father, I pray for your Holy Spirit to speak to us right now as we open your word and we search from your mind what is your message for us this morning in Jesus name we pray amen amen so last night we were I was very happy to share about a message it was called the sanctification in the womb.

It was a message of how God can reach and convert little children even in the womb.

John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit from where?

We're talking about education, we're talking about sanctification of the parents, we're talking about what the Holy Spirit can do in individuals from the earliest moments.

And this morning we are going to continue a little bit further and we are going to explore this biblical topic.

There is actually 2 mysteries in the Bible.

There are a lot of mysteries in the Bible.

There are actually 2 times that the Bible uses the word mystery.

And 1 time is when it is talking about the mystery of godliness.

And the other time, is the title up here already?

So we are going to talk this morning about these 2 mysteries.

The mystery of godliness, the mystery of iniquity.

There are a lot of people like that out there.

The mystery of godliness and the mystery of iniquity.

I hope the Holy Spirit is going to speak to us this morning about the mystery of godliness.

Where do we find In the Bible, can anybody tell me where in the Bible do we find a reference to this concept?

Actually the exact expression, the mystery of Godliness.

Let's see the Bible students this morning.

I heard Advent Hope is full of Bible students.

First Timothy, do you know which chapter?

1 Timothy 3.16 says, "...and without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness.

So we're talking about this mystery That the Bible wants to speak to us, it wants to reveal.

It's something that is not on the plain sight, right?

But you can see the effects of the Holy Spirit.

So it is kind of mysterious work God works with all of us.

And the fundamental principle according to the Bible of the mystery of godliness, The fundamental principle is that God was manifested in the flesh.

That God was manifested, and you're probably thinking, what is, what is, what is, this is not a mystery, that was pretty clear, God is manifested in flesh, what about that?

Well, let's explore this a little further.

Ellen White in Christ Object Lessons, page 133, she states, Thousands more may engage in the work of searching out The mysteries of salvation.

The study of the incarnation of Christ will employ the mind of diligent student as long as time shall last.

And looking to heaven with its unnumbered years, He will explain, great is what?

So she is also connecting the mystery of godliness with what?

And she says that we will be studying and searching this even in the eternity.

So if you think this is a plain subject, oh yeah God was manifest in flesh, move on.

No this is actually something deeper between some mystery.

Oh, okay, God is manifesting in the flesh, but there is something deeper behind it.

We will actually study this for eternity.

So for Now, we have a summary of this presentation.

For now, number 1, the mystery of godliness is the incarnation of Christ.

Now we're going to see the importance because the mystery of iniquity is exactly the opposite of that.

And this is a false gospel introduced, trying to be introduced in Christianity.

We can find it in 2 Thessalonians, the word mystery of iniquity is found.

I just love to hear the pages of the Bible turned here.

The Bible says, Let no man deceive you by any means, for that day shall not come except there come a falling away first.

And the man of sin must be revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, all that is worshipped, so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Remember ye not that when I was with you, I told you these things.

For the mystery of iniquity does already work." So Paul is saying already in time of Apostle Paul, there was this mysterious counterfeit of the mystery of godliness that was starting to creep into the church.

And by the way, Paul uses the word men of sin, right?

And he even calls it the son of perdition.

Where else in the Bible do we find the same expression, the son of perdition?

Where else in the Bible, Who else was called the son of perdition?

Was Judas an external enemy of the disciples?

That's why the Bible calls the mystery of iniquity an internal virus, like a cancer in the church.

And there is a conflict between mystery of godliness and mystery of iniquity.

1 gospel preaches Christ was manifested in the flesh And the other gospel actually doesn't teach that.

We know that the man of sin, we're talking about the falling away man of sin, the great apostasy in the Middle Ages.
