In Money We Trust

Father, as your word is open, we pray that you may teach us.

We thank you, Lord, for already hearing and answering our prayers.

What will people be like in the last days?

Notice the Bible says, but know this, that in the last days, how many of you believe we're in the last days?

The Bible says here, do you know that in the last days perilous times will come?

The Bible says, parallel times will come.

Then it says that men will be lovers of what?

What does that mean to be a lover of themselves?

So the last thing is there'll be people who will be selfish, right?

And then it says here also, there'll be lovers of themselves, there'll be lovers of what?

So not only they'll be selfish but in the last days they see people that's going to be selfish.

You're going to see people who are lovers of money or they're very materialistic.

Then it goes on, it doesn't stop there, it says, lovers of money, bolsters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanders, without self-control brutal, despises of good, traitors, headstrong haughty, lovers of what?

In other words, they're going to love pleasure more than love God.

They'll be living luxurious, extravagant lifestyles, we're told here in the last days.

And then it says here, but I want you to notice, is this talking about people out there in the world?

It says, these same people that the Bible is talking about in verses 1 to 4, the Bible says here they're having a form of what?

So the Bible is talking about these people.

It's saying that these people have a form of godliness.

In other words, they want to look like they're godly.

In other words, they're professing to be Christians on the outside, but on the inside they have all this corruption.

So this is not referring, this Bible prophecy is not referring in the last days to people in the world but it's referring to Christians like you and I who attend church.

So in other words the Bible is prophesying that we would be like this in the last days.

There's going to be people who love pleasure who love living luxurious lifestyles, extravagant lifestyles people who go to church who become very materialistic.

You think that could be possible in our churches today?

Does this lifestyle even affect our own homes?

You know, they found a study that 90% of couples who were interviewed, they found out that 90% of couples fought about money at least 1 time.

And do you know that those who got in divorce, couples who got in divorce, they found that 34% of couples who got a divorce, got a divorce because the major problem in the divorce was about money.

So money is big and that's why I put down it's not in God we trust in these last days, it's about in money we trust.

Now let's look at another Bible text that gives us counsel about money.

Please turn with me to Proverbs 21 verse 17.

Let's see what Solomon had to say about money.

The Bible says, he who loves pleasure will be a what?

He who loves wine and oil will not be rich.

So if you tend to enjoy the good things in life, according to the Bible, you end up poor and feel like you never have money right?

How many of you ever felt poor in your life?

If you ever have money you must have self-control and be willing to live a simple life.

You know 60% of American families in the United States of America today, 60% of them spend more money than they earn.

How many of you have been in that situation where you're actually spending more money, not to raise your hand, but spend more money than actually, you're not saving the money but you're spending, in fact you're getting more and more into debt.

Romans chapter 13 verse 8 in your Bibles.

In other words we are to owe no man anything.

So there are exceptions you know where we can you know purchase a church or a home but the ultimate goal is to get out of debt, not to stay in debt, right?

Unfortunately, America is steeped into debt.

How many here are in debt in some way or another in this church?

The Bible and the First Amendment

Holy Father, our Father God in heaven, Father we thank you for waking us up this early Sabbath morning to study your word.

And Father, in spite of myself, may I be a blessing that occurs to your people.

Father, these precious people have come early to gain a blessing.

And so, Father, I ask that you honor their sacrifice.

May you fill us with the Holy Spirit, and may this presentation be relevant and applicable to our everyday lives.

Father, as this nation is splitting apart, as it seems, Father, help us to understand our mission and our purpose to bring healing to the nations.

We ask for your spirit this we pray in Jesus name, Amen.

The United States of America, a nation that is connected with freedom and liberty of conscience.

I find it very interesting that the servant of the Lord quotes in Great Converse page 295 paragraph 3 this about the Constitution of the United States.

Notice what she says quoting congressional documents serial number 200 document number 271 on Great Converse page 295 paragraph 3.

The framers of the Constitution recognize the, what principle?

Eternal principle that man's relation with his God is above human legislation.

And his rights of conscience inalienable.

That word inalienable means natural rights.

So she is implying by quoting the statement that the principles of the Constitution is divinely ordained.

Now today, in the brief moment that I have, we're gonna trace the history of the United States and the history of the First Amendment, not only from the United States, but from the Bible.

We're gonna study about the First Amendment from Babylon, Medo-Persia, pagan Rome, and papal Rome.

We're gonna study about the purpose of why God raised the United States of America.

And so bear with me, get your seat belts on, we're going to have a crash course history class, amen?

So first of all we want to establish what was God's purpose in establishing the United States.

Notice what the Bible says in Revelation 12, verse 15 and 16.

Do you know that the United States is found in Revelation chapter 12?

And as we study, we'll see this more clearly.

Notice what the Bible says in Revelation chapter 12 verse 15 and 16.

The Bible says, and the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth." So we have several characters here in this text.

The serpent and the dragon persecutes the woman, the church.

What does the woman represent in 1 Corinthians 5 verse 25?

So the serpent and dragon, Satan, persecutes the woman, the church.

How does the serpent and dragon try to destroy the woman?

And if we compare scripture with scripture, water represents highly populated areas, people, nations, kindreds, and tongues.

And in Psalms 18.4, waters represent the floods of ungodly men.

So Satan is trying to destroy the church by peoples, nations, multitudes, and tongues, and the flood of ungodly men.

And then the earth, what's the opposite of Water?

And so if water represents a highly populated area, what does dry land represent?

A land that is less populated, Is that correct?

Now question, was Europe a highly populated area?

We have many nations, kindreds, tongues, and peoples.

We have Britain and Germany and Switzerland and Italy and Hungary and various ethnic people.

And so Satan used all these nations during the Dark Ages to try to destroy the church but then provided a relatively unpopulated area called North America for a way of escape.

And so God established North America, the United States, to be a haven for religious liberty.

In fact, who are the first people from Europe to come to America for religious liberty?

Now, in the Seventh Adventist Church, we have controversy of celebrating Christmas.

But we should not have a controversy celebrating Thanksgiving.

Not only for the tofurkey and the nice mashed potatoes and stuffing, but it is a holiday that we at 7th Avenue, this is very special because it celebrates religious liberty.

Not only that, but there was a special passenger on the Mayflower.

The Mayflower is the ship where the pilgrims came from.

Notice what James White said in Life to Incidents, page 9.

Notice what James White, 1 of the founders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, he said this.

My father descended from 1 of the pilgrims who came to America in the ship, what?

So literally the remnant of God's seed, 1 of the founders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Europe, God's church is persecuted by the papacy on the Walden seas and and the faithful by various nations because church and state was merged.

Then God brings a way of escape for the pilgrims to come to the United States of America what would become the United States of America.

And in North America, there is religious liberty for people to believe however they want by studying the Bible by their own personal relationship with God.

And because of the safe haven of religious liberty, There was freedom of thinking for people to study the Bible for themselves and God raises up a movement in 1844 called the 7th Avenue church.

In fact notice what the inspiration says in Maranatha page 193 paragraph 4.

The Lord has done more for the United States than any other country upon which the sun shines.

Here he provided an asylum for his people where they could worship him according to the dictates of conscience.

Here Christianity has progressed in its purity.

The life-giving doctrine of the 1 mediator between God and man has been freely taught.

God designed that this country should ever remain free for how many people?

All people to worship him in accordance with the dictates of conscience.

He designed that its civil institutions in their expansive production should represent the freedom of gospel privileges.

So God ordained a United States of America to be a haven for worship of all people, Muslims, Buddhists, New Agers, Christians, where religious liberty would reign.

And so because of this freedom that people enjoy, and because people could study the Bible however they want without the dictates of a government, without the dictates of a pastor telling them what to do.

God raised up this movement in Revelation 12, 17 because the woman escaped to the earth.

The Bible says, and the dragon was wroth with the woman and went to make war with the wretched and the deceived, which keep the commands of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

So the people that believe the commands of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ came about when the woman went to the Earth or North America.

So God ordained North America as the jump off point for God's end time movement.

Now notice what else that God established and why God established the United States.

Notice what Evangelist in page 570 paragraph 2 states.

Inspiration states, God would be pleased to see far more accomplished by his people in the presentation of the truth for this time to the foreigners in America than has been done in the past.

As I have testified for years, if we are quick in discerning the opening providence of God, we should be able to see in the multiplying opportunities to reach many foreigners in America a divinely appointed means of rapidly extending the third angel's message unto all the nations of earth.

God in his providence has brought men to our very doors and thrust them as it were into our arms that they might learn the truth and be qualified to do a work we could not do in giving the light before men of other tongues." So in other words she's saying that immigrants, amen, God ordained the United States to open the door for immigrants to come to America to learn of our end time gospel message, to learn the truth so then they could learn it and pass it on to their family members and to the nations that they came from.

And God brought every nation, kindred, tongue, and people to the United States of America for the opportunity to learn God's truth so that they could teach their family members and their family members could communicate overseas and the gospel of the world be preached in all nations and then the end shall come.

You know, I go to Hawaii almost every summer, thanks to Patrick Keala and Evangelist Todd Pocklip.

Fall of the Republic

Father, please, may you speak to your people, bypass me and speak your words for this present time.

Your present truth we ask, humbly ask in Jesus name, Amen.

If you look in your handouts, there's a quotation I want you to focus on.

Talking about God's people in the last days.

And it says here, they, God's people, it says, I want you to know these 3 things.

They can honor Him, God, only as they have a right conception of his what?

The first thing that they need to understand is his what?

The transcript of his character, external transcript, but God's character we told him is, we told for inspiration is his thoughts and his feelings, okay, so God's thoughts and feelings.

So we need to understand God's thoughts and feelings, who He is.

Okay, that's so we can love God, for the know God is to love God.

But the second thing, well let's look at the last thing.

See we need to understand how God works because we have a false understanding how He works then we can get bitter and angry against God and then it can hinder our relationship with God.

But the middle 1 is what we're going to focus on today and that's what this weekend is all about and there's something here that we need to understand and that something is God's government.

How he runs and how he sets up things and actually how he runs even how we can run our churches and our nation and how we can run our homes.

There's a certain government that God uses in heaven that goes contrary to how we as sinful human nature run our places, our homes and everything.

Because we need to create safe places where God's love can grow and we can learn to love more.

We have a toxic environment, we will not learn to love God.

We need to have safe places and that's what this religious liberty weekend is all about.

Now there have been only 2 republics that ever existed on this earth, true republics.

1 was the nation of Rome and then there's the United States of America.

That's only 2 true republics that ever existed.

That's why we're looking at the fall of the republic here.

In the Satan's world of government, the Institutions are more important than the people.

Where they just use you, they burn you out in your work, your job place, they overwork you, they require a lot of hats for you to do, they burn you out because they want to make money, and then when you get burned out and sick, they dump you on the side and then they get another worker who's eager for a job.

They use you for the sake of the bottom line, which is money.

But God's government is, rather than an institution being more important than the people, God's government is this.

God's 10 Commandments, the first 4 commandments is based upon our relationship or love to God, right?

Because if you love God you're going to keep the Sabbath day holy, right?

And the last 6 commandments deal with our relationship or love with 1 another, right?

So the 10 Commandments really reveal God's heart that He's a God of relationships.

So in God's government is relationships are more important than even institutions.

In God's government relationships in other words you are more important than even the job you work at the institution or that business.

In God's government you are more important than even a church structure and building an institution itself.

That's what we're looking at in God's freedom.

So look at Revelation 13 verse 11 and let's look at what it says about what came out of the earth and Peter brought up this morning but it says, and behold another beast coming up out of the earth okay what does beast in the Bible represent?

So a nation coming up and out of the earth, a relatively uninhabited area, the opposite of water, okay, and he had 2 horns like a what?

So this is coming up around the same time the first beast went down, right, in 1798.

So this beast comes up, this nation was coming up at the same time, it was relatively uninhabited.

And what nation was coming up around the late 1700s that came out of a relatively uninhabited area during this time?

So it's looking at United States of America.

And this nation was founded upon Christian principles.

Now this beast had how many horns does the Bible say?

Okay, turn to Habakkuk chapter 3 verse 4 and let's see what the Bible says horns represent in the Bible.

The Bible says, you know different versions, but I like this version.

It says, and his brightness was as the light, and he had horns coming out of his hand, and there in the horns was the hiding of his what?

So the secret of the power of the United States that made America so great was these 2 horns.

You know, they always say, oh, all these nations in Europe has been around for thousands of years.

And all of a sudden, this young buck, this young nation, comes out of nowhere.

And the last 200 years, we bypassed all the greatest nations who have been around for thousands of years and we become the greatest, the most powerful nation in the world.

There is secrets to the power of the United States.

And so we're going to look at those 2 secrets of the power of the United States.

The Forgotten Voice of the Dragon

Holy Father, our Father in God of heaven, Father, we thank you for sending the Lamb of God to us so that he could take away our sins.

And As the lamb-like beast that speaks as a dragon is seeking to force people to abide by what it thinks is right, we thank you, Lord, that you give us choice.

And Father, in a special way, we ask for the Holy Spirit here in a mighty way to touch our minds and touch our hearts.

May I be a blessing, not a curse to your people.

And may the spirit of this message be the spirit of Jesus.

Father, we thank you for the sure word of prophecy where you know the end from the beginning.

And Father, we thank you that as this nation is falling apart, that you provide healing for the nations.

Help us to be those medical missionaries to heal this fractured nation through your power.

For those that pay attention to the news, be it CNN or Fox News, be it ABC or CBS, we see 1 thing that we could agree on.

America is becoming more and more divided.

We see intolerance everywhere, either from the left or to the right, whatever political persuasion you are in, intolerance reigns supreme.

When our previous president, President Obama, was the president of this nation, there was intolerance for those that believed in the biblical definition of marriage between a man and a woman.

In fact, down the road from where my parents live in Gresham, Oregon, There was a Christian bakery and a same-sex couple asked this Christian bakery to bake a same-sex wedding cake for them, you know, instead of a bride and a groom, you had a groom and a groom or a bride and a bride.

And this Christian bakery, with all gentleness and meekness, said, you know, we're a Christian bakery.

There are many other bakeries all around, but we don't feel comfortable doing this.

And the same-sex couple sued the Christian bakery, and they were fined, the Christian bakery was fined hundreds of thousands of dollars, and their business had to shut down.

So we see intolerance from the left when that happened.

And now as the pendulum has swung to the right, where the religious right is now in control of this president, we see intolerance for Muslims, we see intolerance for minorities, We see intolerance everywhere, either be it to the left or the right, America is becoming more and more intolerant.

You have people on 1 hand barking loudly for white supremacy.

Then you have the counter-protest saying that they need to be stopped.

And you have intolerance in the left and intolerance in the right.
