1. Empty in Sychar: Sexual Integrity for Women

This message was presented at the GYC 2017 conference, Arise, in Phoenix, Arizona.

So this seminar is entitled The Truth About Sex and Sexuality and it's really about love, sex, and relationships.

And actually, it kind of builds on each 1 builds on each other and So you can jump in any time, you can miss other ones, and you're not gonna be lost at all.

But it's still build in a sense that at the end when you go to different presentations, you're gonna see that it's gonna come more alive because of the previous presentations.

So, and I saw guys out there, I saw men like peeking in this morning but they didn't want to come in of course.

But I think it's important that men do know the sexual temptations of women and because it is different.

And also I think it's important that women understand the temptations of men because I believe it's going to help you in your relationships with the opposite sex when you have boyfriends or girlfriends or even when you get married, a husband and wife.

It's going to tremendously help you in your relationship if you do understand not only your struggles but also the struggles of the opposite sex.

So don't feel that it's just only for men or just only for women, but you're welcome as well.

So what we're going to do is We're going to start with looking in the Bible, John chapter 4, please.

We're going to turn to John chapter 4, verse 13 and 14 is the opening text.

And the first presentation is entitled, Empty and Sidecar, Sexual Integrity for Women.

Empty and Sidecar, Sexual Integrity for Women.

Now men and women both struggle with sexual integrity, but just they struggle in different ways and it's an urban legend that says that women do not struggle with sexual purity.

How can we believe the lie that men are the only ones who struggle with sexual immorality when for every man that commits adultery there's always another woman.

And so what we're going to do is we're going to see that men have different struggles, women have different struggles, and the danger about it is, and it's worse for women because the sexual struggles of women is not openly talked about.

In fact, you hardly even hear about it out there, what their struggle is.

And so we're gonna be looking at the Bible and the spirit of prophecy to see what is really said about the different struggles between men and women.

And so it makes it even more dangerous because a lot of women bring this sexual lusting, I call it, emotional lusting into the marriages and it ruins and destroys the marriages.

A lot of times they actually make it seem like it's the man's fault and a lot of times it's really their own fault because they have not overcome in this era.

So we're looking at this this morning and you know as we study the different weaknesses of the different sexes you're going to find out there's an overlap of men and women and because of today because of the days we're living in, the confusion of roles and because of what's going on in this world.

So as we open God's word, may we be open to the Holy Spirit, his convictions that we study God's word together.

Father, as your word is open, we humbly kneel in our hearts before you.

We ask that you may be our teacher, and that we ourselves can do nothing and learn nothing.

So Lord open our hearts and our minds to hear what you may be speaking to us today is a humble prayer in Jesus name, amen.

John chapter 4 verse 13 and 14 is opening text.

Now what did Jesus offer the Samaritan woman?

John chapter 4, verse 13 and 14, the Bible says, Jesus answered and said to her, whoever drinks of this water will thirst, what?

But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst, but the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.

So Jesus saw that this woman's, her well of her heart was empty.

And then she was longing in her heart for something more.

And every time she tried to fill it, it always felt more and more empty.

And so Jesus said, there's something else here I want to fill you with this water that you're never going to thirst again.

You're never going to hunger for something else.

You will be satisfied with what's going on in your life.

What was the woman's response to this offer?

The Bible says in verse 15, the woman said to him, sir, give me this water that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw." So in other words, this woman was thirsting for this water.

She wanted something that actually would satisfy the deep longings of her heart, the deep longings within her bones.

But before she could receive this fulfillment, what did Jesus first bring up?

Jesus offered her this living water that's going to satisfy the deep longings of her soul, the deep longings of her soul and he offered this water and she said yes I want this water, give me this water.

In other words, kind of like somebody telling you about the truth and you said, you tell that person yes tell me the truth.

If somebody was to tell you tell me the truth, what would you do if they told you to tell you the truth?

So giving this living water, tell me the truth and this intellectual truth.

But I want you to notice what Jesus did first before he was able to give her this truth, this present truth that she wanted so badly, he did something else.

I want you to notice that before she could be receptive to what was really the truth, she first had to deal with her past relationships and her brokenness and deal with her sexual and emotional integrity.

And that's why in order to us be truly fulfilled in Christ, understand present truth and truth, we must first be healed of our sexual sins within us, our emotional integrity within us.

And that's what God wants us to understand.

You see, that's what Jesus wants us to experience, a fulfillment in our hearts.

But he has to deal with the brokenness within our lives, the hurting, the pain, the emotional Longings of our soul first.

And so this morning what we're going to do is Satan has a strategy of attack for both men and women.

We're going to look at the strategy of attack that he has for women.

And so what we're going to do is we're going to go back 6, 000 years ago to the first relationship.

And we're going to go back to Genesis chapter 3 verse 1.

This is where he began his attack against Eve.

So turn with me to Genesis chapter 3 verse 1 in your Bibles please.

The Bible says, now this strategy of attack that Satan uses he uses a certain method and we'll be looking at these 4 methods he uses to get women to fall.

It says here in verse 1, Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.

And he said to the woman, has God indeed said you should not eat of every tree of the garden.

So the first thing here we have is that has a serpent.

In other words, you have a false medium here where an animal cannot speak, but a serpent is speaking.

So, it's the first method of attack, of strategy of attack that Satan uses against women, is he uses a false medium to get his message across.

By the way, there is a flyer, but I guess unfortunately, oh, ha ha, thank you very much.

2. Eyeless in Gaza: Sexual Integrity for Men

Okay, if you have your Bibles, you can turn to Genesis 3, verse 6.

The seminar is entitled, I Listen Gaza, Sexual Integrity for Men.

You know, and I highly recommend the men for the women as well.

I saw men come in peeking in but they turned around and left.

But you know, actually I can tell you it was saving marriage that the men would know about women and it's saving marriage that the women know about men.

It's kind of like they're kind of scared to come in but praise God for your bold souls.

So this presentation is entitled, I Listen Gaza, Sexual Integrity for Men.

Just raise your hand if you didn't get a handout.

So when men become sexually pure, you're not only revive the relationship with God, but it's gonna transform your relationship with your girlfriend, or your wife, your fiance.

Every man battles with sexual temptations.

And every relationship, whether you have a wife or a girlfriend, will only grow stronger when you actually defeat these sexual temptations.

And so we'll be looking in this study from some stories in the Bible about how some men overcame in this era.

So you know what men, now we look at last seminar we looked at how women struggle.

And women struggle with different temptations.

We learned that they have a higher level of estrogen in their bodies And so they struggle more with the emotional and that's why the sexual temptation is for women to struggle with emotional lusting of the heart That's what we learned the last session Okay, and which is actually not even spoken about you hardly you don't even hear about that Some many people in the church had never even heard about emotional lusting and that's what women do, that's the temptation, that's what they're drawn toward to.

When men is different men have higher levels of testosterone.

Do you know that men have 10 times the amount of testosterone than women?

So that's why you are wired differently, you are created differently.

Women have a high level of estrogen and that's why they struggle with their sexual sins in a different way and men struggle with their sexual sins in a different way.

10 times amount And that's why we wonder why we're different, why we struggle.

But I just want to let you know, men, that you're not alone.

This is actually biologically you're wired differently.

God created you with different hormones, and that's why you're different.

The physical lusting is just as sinful as the emotional lusting that women do.

It's just that men are always targeted as the ones who are, you know, dirty old man or perverted, right?

But women are the ones who struggle with different sins but it's never talked about, even in the churches.

So we want to kind of focus on different things of the different sexual temptations for both men and women.

So with this subject, with men, let's focus on the Word of God.

And you know the powerful thing about the Bible?

The powerful thing about the Bible is that you don't read, you know, the Bible is a bunch of stories about people who are perfect.

I don't think I ever want to read the Bible.

You know, I want to read stories where people struggle with sexual temptation like David, right?

Like Samson, that's what we're going to be studying today.

In other words, it makes it real that, hey, these guys struggle and they actually lost, but they came, they became victorious through the love of God.

Like these guys struggle and Jesus struggled.

We're going to talk a little bit about that as well.

They struggle with these temptations and you have to understand the difference between temptation and sin as well.

And even thoughts and looking is different.

So with that thought, as we go through the Word of God, praise God to see all the men.

Father, as your word is open, help us to understand and apply your word and may you just speak directly to our hearts that we may see how much you love us.

Genesis 3 verse 6, Now we learn about the temptations of Eve, right, that she had back then.

And how the strategy of attack was, was, toward Eve was to get her to sin.

And, you know, if she wouldn't have just eaten the fruit, right, he had to get into a mine and change a mine and mess up her mine, right?

And once he messed up her mine, then she was, he, he was able to get her to sin.

Well, with Adam, notice what happens here.

The Bible says here, when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, right, and it says at the end, she ate, and then it says at the end, she also gave to her husband with her and he what?

He went into her mind, deceived her into falling, right?

Played with her mind, changed her mind, her thoughts and feelings and then she fell into the sin.

Do you know what the reason why he actually decided to eat the fruit?

He felt that he couldn't live without her, right?

Little down the road, he was saying, the woman who you gave me, blaming her, right?

But in the beginning, he was like, I'm gonna die for her, how noble, right?

But I'm gonna die for her, and I'll eat the fruit.

In other words, he sinned because of the woman.

3. Purity & Passion

And the seminar is entitled this afternoon, Purity and Passion.

And so we're going through this seminar on love, sex and relationships.

And we started off this morning on our journey looking at sexual integrity for women, where women struggle with emotional lusting of the heart and we journeyed on to the men and we dealt with the physical lusting of the eyes and how to heal from those 2 things and dealing with the root causes of how to heal and experience victory in those areas and then we're going to move on into this sexual purity for both men and women and especially in the days that we're living in today as well And then this afternoon, the next 1, we take a 15 minute break after this and we're focusing on something called escaping soul chains or soul ties and that is focused upon when you have sexual intercourse with someone, there is a spiritual soul tie that happens between you and that person.

And even though you leave that person physically, there is still that spiritual soul tie that ties you for life.

So just breaking that soul chains, whether your own wrong choices decided to have sex before marriage is there or you're sexually abused and it was forced upon you, it's still there.

So this is how to break free from those soul chains and then we end tomorrow morning with the last presentation.

And that one's gonna be on actually the games that men play against women to manipulate them, which are different from women, and the games women play against men to manipulate men.

And that kind of, kind of climaxes tomorrow morning with all the presentation and bills out for tomorrow morning.

My warning is that use it as a way to see so you won't be played in the player's love game, and also that you won't be a player as well, but not as a way as a tool tomorrow morning to be a player.

So, but to be careful about players and everything.

If you don't, just raise your hand and hopefully we can get it to you.

Keep it up and my wife can get it to you.

Okay, in order to have, oh by the way if you have any questions, please write it down.

The first session we had excellent questions in the end, it was really good.

The last session, I think we had a little bit of time left but we didn't have any questions.

So if you had questions from the last seminar, you can still write them down and ask them here because it kind of overlaps on sexual purity.

And if you have any questions, just save it for the end and I'll just go around down below and you ask the questions, I'll restate it and answer the questions as best as I can.

In order to have a healthy and happy love life, 1 must first understand and experience sexual purity.

And we shared it this morning that, you know, it's not really spoken about as much anymore, actually probably never was, where people are actually talking about sexual purity, the different battles that men experience and the different battles that women experience because we learned this morning that we're wired differently, God made us differently, we have different hormones that work differently, men have more testosterone, women have more estrogen, so they have different sexual battles.

And so with these different things, we need to be talking about it to our young people.

And I get it because I understand, I'm a parent, I have a teenager, she always reminds me she's a teenager now, right?

So we actually felt on this trip, we were like, okay, maybe it's time that we need to talk to her about that first seminar I gave this morning about women, because that's never talked about.

And it's good to have a platform where I kind of present it.

And she had to sit in the class this morning, which was good for her to hear about the emotional lusting.

And so we actually had a little conversation at lunch.

It's kind of awkward to talk to your children about it right in a sense, right?

But it's so needed today that we need to talk to our young people Because you know, they're hearing I know they they're hearing their own stories and they know everything and they're hearing it from their own friends Right, Which is not the best source for them to get information, right?

How many of you would agree with that, right?

And the best source is actually from the Word of God.

And the Spirit of Prophecy, that's what God wants us to get our sources from.

And by the mouth of 2 witnesses, so every word be established.

And the first witness I call to the stand always is the word of God and the second witness is the spirit of prophecy.

So the word is established of what I say.

So just that we need to be proactive and not reactive and wait till something happens and then we address it with our young people, but let's be proactive and let's reach out to them.

And even I believe, even in our schools, our institutions, people come up to me after our meeting and say, you know, I have no 1 to talk to.

My family, I can't talk to them about this subject.

My school that I attend to has never addressed it, and at churches, I would never hear this topic talked about.

I think it's something that needs to be addressed.

By the way, this was not a subject I picked, okay?

This is the GYC asked me to speak specifically about this subject.

Okay, and so I think they actually feel in the committee that this is actually a subject that is needed for such a time as this.

And so I present that to you that maybe sometimes we need to have, and as in the Hawaii conference we always say it on the executive committee, we always say to have courageous conversations.

We like to sweep it under the rug, pretend it's not there, but we really need to have these courageous conversations.

So with that, we studied the lost principles of sexual purity from the Word of God, may we be open to the conviction of God's Holy Spirit.

Father, thank you for this time we can get into your Word and please Lord, speak to your people, move freely among our hearts.

It's our humble prayer in Jesus' name we ask.

What was prophesied that the last days right before Jesus would come before Jesus comes again would be like?

Luke chapter 17 verse 28 to 30 the Bible says, likewise as it was also in the days of Lot, they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built, but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom, the Bible says, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is what?

When Jesus comes again a second time when He's revealed that when He comes again it's going to be just like it was in the days of Lot.

Now the next question is going to be like how was it back then in the days of Lot?

So let's go back to Genesis chapter 19 and let's see in this short story I'm going to jump around some text and just kind of look at a few texts.

Let's look at the first thing that happened in the days of Lot.

Because if we understand how it was back then in days of Lot, we better understand how it is here in the last days and what we're going through and the sexual purity that we truly need today.

The Bible says in 19 verse 4 and 5, it says, now before they lay down the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter surrounded the house.

So these men came around, surrounded the house and they called to Lot and said to him, where are all the men who came to you tonight?

Bring them out to us that we may know them cornerly, that we may sleep with them.

So here was Sodomy, This is actually the men surrounding the house and they want to have sex with the men inside of the home.

So this was how it was back in the days of Lot.

And this is how the Bible says it's going to happen here also in the last days.

And these men who came down, they were actually angels sent down to destroy Sodom because it became so wicked.

4. Escaping Soul Chains
