Born Again - Part 3

Father, thank you for the wonderful opportunity you give us, that we can understand your will and your word for us in these last days.

Father, I pray that you speak through me again, and Father, I pray that you speak to, not me at all actually, Lord, just remove me from the stage completely I'm unnecessary.

And please Father you speak to our hearts and through the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy help us to understand how to surrender fully to you, how to be truly revived, born again, converted and totally filled with your grace.

We want that because we love you, not because of curiosity, but because we love you, Father.

We can't wait to be more filled with your Holy Spirit, to be a better witness to this world that is dying and suffering.

Amen, so this is, how many of you were here this morning?

Amen, How many of you were not here this morning?

This whole weekend we studied this topic of born again.

And we looked at an example, a biblical example of few biblical people like Nicodemus, who he thought he's pretty good.

He believed he was a very high theologian, a very knowledgeable person, but didn't really have that experience, the true converted experience.

And so we looked at Laodicean Church in the book of Revelation and it says that Laodicean Church thinks it is converted.

And this is actually a characteristic of the Adventist Church today.

That they don't need a deeper experience.

That they're actually completely without the Spirit of the Lord.

And so we looked at those examples and we studied what does it mean to be born again?

And then we looked at different objective measures that you can check yourself.

And you can say, am I really born of the Spirit?

If we are born again, we're going to love our enemies.

And then we talk about loving the commandments.

God's commandments are, all of a sudden, they're natural.

It's not hard to obey God's commandments and principles and things like that.

When it's becoming a difficult, oh, the diet, oh, health reform is an extension of the sixth commandment.

So when you're doing, oh, it's so difficult, oh, I just wanna eat that unhealthy stuff, That means the Holy Spirit did not instill in you that commandment.

So that commandment is burdensome to you.

And we looked at 1 John 5, 2, it says, When we are born again, when Holy Spirit converts our heart, then commandments are not burdensome.

And When God presents you with another thing and says this is the way you walk in it.

You're rejoiceful You're not like oh no another burden This is what a lot of Adventists, from a legalist standpoint, they're trying to earn their salvation by being vegan.

And then, oh, Ellen White, who can listen to that?

So many rules of how to raise your kid the best way or how to eat the best way.

There's major principles of health reform and then there are some other principles that are good for you.

But if you're saying, oh it's a drag, like when somebody tells me chew better, I'm like thank you.

That's actually gonna make me digest better.

I don't see it as a burdensome commandment or something, you know, and things like that.

So a converted person, he understands the principle and he loves the law of the Lord.

The Bible says, I meditate upon thy law day and night.

A converted person when he's in the morning wakes up he loves, he can't wait to open the scriptures to speak with the Lord.

When you wake up in the morning, if you can't wait to check your email, that means you're converted to your email.

You're now converted to the Spirit of God.

You know, you can see people in the church being passionate about football.

And then they're never so passionate about outreach.

I never see them passionate about the prayer meeting like that.

You never see them passionate like that for Christ things, mission trips, but you see them passionate for baseball.

And then there's so much passion in worldly things.

And then, you know, And so this is where you know where is your love lying, in the commandments of God or in the world.

And so we're talking about true conversion.

So this is what we covered today in 2 sessions yesterday and today.

The question is, Lord, how do I, how do I get to experience the Spirit of God?

Or do I just do more outreach and then I obtain some illuminated experience of the Holy Spirit?

You know, the Bible says we need to have an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

We need to have early rain in our life and we're going to have a lot of rain.

How do we experience the born again experience?

So that's the question that we're going to deal with this afternoon.

So we read this morning a verse in Proverbs 28 13.
