God’s No Fly Zone

Our message, Father in heaven, Lord, we're thankful today that what draws us together is the Word of God, which is something that has been protected and has been used to direct the lives of many, and we desire it to protect and direct our lives today.

You know, this war that started several days ago, really, has caught the world by surprise, even though there were troops that were there in conflict for quite some time.

And even though our church is on both sides of it, our church is unified even in the midst of war.

I think Vladimir Krupsky is still the president there.

But I worked with him for many years in the Ukraine, starting a school there.

And so we have many believers on both sides.

And as a church, our kingdom is not of this world, else we would fight.

But having said that, it has been interesting to listen to the rhetoric that goes back and forth.

And 1 of the things that has fascinated me the most is, of course, in any conflict you want to take control of the skies so that you can see where the targets are.

And if you're the country on the receiving end of an attack, you want to maintain your air integrity.

And as I listened to the State of the Union address, and as I listened to the various nations, they all talked about, well, these planes from Russia cannot fly in our airspace anymore.

And I was thinking to myself, well, that's great, but what about the place where they're actually dropping bombs?

All right, you're having a problem and you're part of the country, and so I'm going to make sure that No 1 flies over my country.

And I was thinking, man, that must make people feel pretty bad.

I guess it's a nice gesture, but what must they be thinking?

And there's the picture of all the planes there, none of them flying over the Ukraine, and all the others flying over Europe.

No one's allowed to fly over the Ukraine except for its own planes and the planes that are trying to take its planes out that being from Russia.

So, you know, my heart kind of goes out to this guy, President Zelensky.

How many of you have thought about President Zelensky and his people at all this last week?

I mean, first of all, I identified with the guy, first of all, because he's kind of known for humor, and so am I somewhat.

And he got in trouble for his humor many times.

So it gave me hope, because sometimes people that say humorous things can actually be serious, right?

And it ends up he's like 1 of the best presidents ever because he stands up for his country.

Or maybe you don't think that's a good idea.

But I'm not trying to get into the politics too much.

But he stands up, and then he says, wait a minute.

Why is it that you guys say we're great and everything's wonderful about us, but you won't come over and help us out by making a no-fly zone over our country.

All the people who will die starting from this day will also die because of you, because your weakness, because of your disunity.

Because they were debating on NATO whether or not to send, you know, planes over there.

You will not be able to buy us off with liters of fuel for liters of our blood, shed for our common Europe, for our common freedom, for our common future.

This guy's really taking it to the people.

He says, oh, look, you send us a bunch of gas and different things, and you let us die?

So he talked to Congress, I think, yesterday or today, and I'm sure he's making the same case.

So I was thinking to myself, OK, I can go preach just a normal sermon.

But maybe I should press it a little bit and ask a question today because I'm always thinking about what I'm thinking about and what others are thinking about and what they should be thinking, at least what I think they should be thinking based through the gospel and through the lens of God's word.

So when you're talking to people, how many people are thinking about the Ukraine, Zelensky and everything?

So then I had this thought, what could I do to help?

And so I said, okay, I'm gonna write a letter to the Lynx key.

I Know how to get it to him I'm pretty sure I could get him a letter.

I'm pretty sure he's open to hearing what I have to say.

Anyway, so I started to work on this letter last night and I'm going to let you in on it, OK?

You're going to work with me on this letter.

So, I really do think we should send a letter to Zielinski because I think he's desperate and he needs help.

And the letter that I want to send him is a letter that I think will make a big difference.

Number 1, God knows what is happening in the Ukraine.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and the power of his might.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and against powers, against rules of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places." So he understands, God understands that there's a great controversy going on between good and evil, and he knows that it's not only on the ground, but it's also in the air.

Number 2, number 2, he understands no fly zones.

There are many stories in the Bible about fly zones.

But he understands that the prince of the power of the air, the devil, can take over areas of flight.

You know, you who made it alive, who were dead in trespasses and sin, in which you once walked according to the course of the world, according to the prince of the power of the what?

Of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of what?

So he understands that the devil, God knows, and he has identified this through the writing of the Apostle Paul, that there is a devil that he likes to take over air and he likes to make sure no 1 else is flying and he also has troops on the ground.

How many think Zelensky needs to know this?

Maybe he already knows it, but I'm just going to remind him.

Number 3, he has the ability to help those involved in any earthly conflicts.

And the story is found in 2 Kings 6, verse 8 through 23.

And let's look at some of the bullet points of the story.
