At the end of the presentation, the learner will be able to:
Discuss new strategies for effective collaboration between pastors and health professionals in community outreach programs that address common diseases.
Illustrate how to incorporate whole person care into collaborative community outreach programs which results not only in improved health, but also brings community members into Christ’s healing presence.
Describe how even small congregations can be equipped to work with the pastor and healthcare professionals to enhance patient compliance with diabetes-focused lifestyle changes using a readily available, no-cost curriculum.
Implement three strategies that involve both a clinical practice and the local church to decrease the burden of chronic diseases in the local community.
