My Journey of Healing from Heartbreak

Heartbreak is a very, it's a very difficult thing to deal with.

There's a well-known YouTuber who I follow once in a while.

And he's a very well-known public figure now.

YouTube has made him, he's YouTube famous now is, and he's asked to speak all over the country.

He had a friend reach out to him who said, listen, I have just had my heart broken and I don't know who else to turn to.

And my experience is that I have this big dark cloud that hangs over everything I do and everything I say and it just won't go away.

And he admitted as he was sharing in this podcast, it's really hard to give advice to people who are broken hearted.

It's really hard to give advice to people like that.

But I found God took me through a journey that I'm going to share with you and that's going to be a large portion of this message is me sharing my personal journey of God promised to heal the brokenhearted amen but how do you get from point A to point B and that's the question and I want to close that gap for you tonight So I'm gonna share my own personal journey of heartbreak in this area.

And when I've talked about this before, I've never talked about it in a big group like this.

I've talked about it in smaller groups and personal friends.

And when I've shared this, people were like, oh, he's gonna talk about his wife Jen.

Some of you don't even know my backstory I actually lost my wife to cancer in 2020 And so when I share about heartbreak people like oh, he's gonna talk about his wife Jen I'm actually not going to talk about my wife Jen I'm gonna talk about the girl after Jen, which a lot of people don't even know about, that there was another girl after that.

It's a difficult thing for me to talk about, but it's really relevant, and God doesn't waste any experiences.

They have all been necessary and when I'm done, it's another tool in my tool belt to help minister to other people.

And so it gives me actually a lot of meaning to be able to do this here with you this evening.

So after my wife Jennifer passed, It took several months for me to plan and facilitate the memorial service.

I had to wrap up a bunch of financial situations.

It took several months just to do it all.

When I was done, I just felt like I had to get out of where I was.

There was this year-long cancer Battle where I essentially didn't leave the place for a solid year and it was just a nightmare of a time and I'm like I haven't seen family and like so long I just need to go.

So I took this several week trip I went all through California I have family in Central California, Visalia area and that whole Salvadorian families over there.

I have family all throughout LA I saw them and it was just awesome to see all my family and connect with them and you know, they were giving me just a lot of love at that time and I'm driving back home at the end of this like 2 3 week trip and it was really great but you know when you've been gone from home for like 2 or 3 weeks you just want to go back home right and I get this call from a friend and it's a personal friend of mine who has a lifestyle center she said hey where are you right now I'm like I'm actually on the road I'm driving home And I was coming up to the junction where you know I would I was go up to Lake Tahoe and go home She said Well a little backstory my friend has a Lifestyle Center And I've worked with her and she helped me a lot with my own health situation I have a YouTube channel where I talk a lot about health and I've promoted her lifestyle center on my YouTube channel.

And because of that, she's actually got clients to her lifestyle center who've come through my YouTube channel.

And she said, hey, there's a couple here, they're not Adventist, and they're here from your YouTube channel, and they wanna meet you.

I was like, oh, I kinda just wanna go home, you know?

I prayed about it, I was like, you know what?

These people, they came all the way from Minnesota and I'm like just a few hours away.

I reluctantly agreed and then she said, I want you, could you give it like a worship talk?

She said, and you know it would be really awesome to for you to do an appeal so these people could go home with you know some part of our message.

So I was like okay I could do that I'll make an appeal.

So I gave a worship talk and at the end I made an appeal and the appeal was, you know, if you want to know more about what Bible prophecy has to say about what's going to happen in the end, there's a whole resources and study guides I want to give to you on the book of Revelation.

And I was waiting for this couple to answer this appeal.

I'd had a really good conversation with them.

They didn't raise their hand for the appeal.

They didn't approach me, but somebody else did.

There was this young girl that was there who also was a mutual friend of our friend who owned the Lifestyle Center, and she said, I need to talk to you.

I've just been doing these Bible studies over Zoom with this group of people on the book of Daniel, and they loved it.

And she was like, they were like, let's do Revelation.

And she's like, I have no idea how to give Bible studies on Revelation.

She goes, and here you are with your appeal about resources.

It was praise the Lord, a divine appointment.

So we got in touch that way and we started communicating and it became apparent really quick that we had a lot in common.

We just had so many things in common and really quick I realized that this was a very high quality girl.

Within a few months I just like, wow, she really impressed me.

The things that she was doing, her missionary spirit, intelligent, beautiful, and I was like, this is a really neat girl.

And then within a few more months, it became really clear to me, my goodness, this has got to be my next wife.

And you know, I'd had a 15-year marriage that was awesome.

That was the right person that was blessed and I remember if you've been there, you know what it's like when you you know, when you know when you know when it's right, it's just You know, it's just it just clicks.

You're like this this this is right and I had that same feeling and You know, it's funny when it when I when 2 people like each other and but they're just friends there's this period of time where you can kind of operate in that environment.

But after a certain period of time, it gets awkward and someone has to break the silence and it just becomes really obvious that you both like each other, but no one's saying anything.

My view is, especially in light of the presentation we heard this morning, it should be the guy to be the first 1 to have the courage to break the silence.

I made plans to meet up with her, and we met up, and we sat in my truck, and I said, hey, I just wanna let you know, I like you.

More than just friends way more than just friends and she said well the feelings very mutual I was like I was like cool I was like hey this is this is great but I had made a vow after my wife passed away I made a vow I will not date anyone or get involved in a relationship for 1 year.

So I told her about that and she actually respected it.

She says, no I think that's a really smart decision.

And so we just continued to keep the friendship alive.

Right after that event, God called her to be a missionary in a different country.

And the call she received from the Holy Spirit was so obvious, it was so strong, she was literally losing sleep at night because the Holy Spirit's voice was just so loud in her mind.

And here we just had confessed our feelings for each other and were just essentially waiting for my year to expire and you know we're enjoying each other a lot.

It wasn't like, I'm calling you to be a missionary, get your stuff together in 6 months.

And so within a few months, she was gone.

Within a few months, she was gone to a completely different country.

We continued to keep in touch, and she actually came back to the States for a short period of time to visit family, and I flew over to where she was, and we got to share space for a little bit, and during that time, when chemistry's there, things just move really fast, And we essentially were a couple.

I was even introducing her to people as my girlfriend.

And it just, I don't know, it just kept moving in that direction.

She ended up going back, after her brief visit to the States, she went back to the country, started working there.
