The Tides of Change Part 2

Scripture reading for this afternoon, for this first session, Exodus chapter 1.

We'll read the verses from this morning, 6-8.

And Joseph died and all his brethren and all that generation and the children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly and multiplied and waxed exceeding mighty and the land was filled with them.

Now there rose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.

And so part 2, the rise of the new king, the changing tide part 2, the rise of the new king.

Let's pray, Father God, now Lord lead us again into truth by the power of your Holy Ghost.

We rebuke the devil, bind them and cast them far away.

And as we speak here, Lord, we ask for Holy Ghost power, not just in my speaking, but in under in all our collective understanding of your word and your truth.

But Lord bless us now that we would see the great hope that is in Jesus Christ.

So we're gonna pick up right where we were about to go this morning.

And we're gonna read verses 11 through 14 and then get back to showing you about this second beast.

The first piece we talked about is found in Revelation chapter 11.

It's a beast unlike any other beast in all of the Daniel or Revelation prophecies because this beast is given no form.

Remember that you go back to Daniel, 1 looked like a lion, 1 looked like a leopard.

The other thing about this beast is the other beasts come out of the land, they come out of the sea.

This 1 comes out of the abyss, out of the pit.

And that is because its ideas were just so diabolical, is a great word, just so terrible.

And that beast we found represents the French Revolution.

And the French Revolution might limit you to think this just has to do with France.

Out of the French Revolution comes, in a sense, comes Marxism.

You hear these Black Lives Matter people talking about, we're trained Marxists.

Karl Marx was a insane racist who believed the theory of evolution proved the inferiority of some races over other races.

You get the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, and you get the birth of the Soviet Union over time.

Communists, which come out of this, and this is where you hear people now talking about they're communists and they're Marxists.

Communism is responsible for, some argue, over 100 million deaths since its inception.

We gotta look at people like Pol Pot, Mao Zedong.

You have to look at Lenin, Stalin, the Kim Jong-un in North Korea.

These people have killed countless numbers of people.

So all of that is a part of that beast that comes out of that pit.

I'm gonna come back to it, but let me just say it while I remember it.

This is what is at work on our university campuses in America.

I mean, I take care of a lot of kids that go to universities and practice in Connecticut and not all of them obviously but there's an overwhelming belief that somehow our system is so terrible but communism, Marxism would be so much better of a system.

And yet, history tells you that those systems can't even survive.

If you look at China, China is supposed to be a communist country.

No 1 does more capitalistic dealings than China does, right?

Really, it's a totalitarian form of government more than anything.

Cuba has never really recovered from being communist.

Even if you take into account the American embargo, which I personally would do away with at this point.

But even though you do, that country still suffers from what communism represents.

So the official religion of China is atheism, right, in a communist system that has to be they don't believe in God.

And if you are not careful, you can get swept up in it under the guise of social justice.

The second beast then was the first beast of Revelation 13.

And the first beast of Revelation 13, we said, represents the papal power.

That 1 controlled the world with an iron fist from 538 AD to all the way to 1798, when Berthier, Napoleon's general, takes the Pope captive and leads him to Paris, where he dies in captivity.

The Bible says that this deadly wound was given to this beast, to 1 of the heads of this beast, but what happens?

The wound is healed, which is where we kind of leave off because the second beast of Revelation 13 is where we're gonna pick up.

And I told you this earlier today, the second beast represents the United States of America.

This is where the conversation starts to get tough.

Because a lot of people don't like us to, in any way speak ill of the United States.

There are other people who have no problem speaking ill of the United States all day.

But the truth about America is somewhere in the middle.

There's a lot of great things America's done, good things America's done, there's a lot of bad things America's done.

But that's not very different from most countries.

Let's just keep in mind slavery was not a uniquely American institution.

Let's remember that it was a Western hemisphere.

Let's remember that even before Africans were ever taken into slaves, Europeans basically enslaved each other.

The Arabs had took many slaves from Africa as well.

You know, so And slavery basically existed everywhere in the world forever.

So America has a sin because they should have known better.

But the reality is it was a place where, because of the First Amendment, the remnant church could grow.

So let's look at Revelation 13, second beast.

Revelation 13 and verse 11 says, and I have beheld another beast coming up out of the earth and he had 2 horns like a lamb and he spake as a dragon.

Now, what does this beast description have in common with the beast of Revelation 11?

It's difficult to tease out, but there's a significant similarity.

It doesn't give a description of the actual beast.

It doesn't say this beast looked like a bear or a lion or a leopard like in the Old Testament when Daniel was describing those kingdoms.

It's just the horns and horns we know represent power.

And in this case, the 2 horns of the adventist we've always said represent 2 things, a republic form of government, meaning a representative form of government.

Today, a lot of people say a democracy, but America is not really truly a democracy, is it?

If it was, every decision that was made, we'd vote on it.

So before they could buy a new plane or go to war somewhere, all of us would collectively vote for it.

We elect people, and they go and vote for or against it.

It's a representative form of government.
