You're about to enjoy a presentation recorded at the 2025 Michigan Conference Camp, held at Cedar Lake, Michigan.

We pray that the Lord will bless you as you listen.

Father in heaven, thank you that you are so accessible and you want your Holy Spirit to fill us as you have created us in your image and for our bodies to be the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you that we can breathe heaven's atmosphere.

Have mercy on us and forgive us when we have forgotten that we are walking with you.

And so we ask specifically that the Holy Spirit will remind us and convict us and convert us and transform us to be more and more like Jesus.

And as we open your word and we explore, may you open our minds and our hearts as we place our lives in those nail-pierced hands of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, in his precious name, amen.

Today, we generally talk about the servant heart.

Tomorrow, we're gonna talk about a trusting heart.

Yesterday, we spoke about the cross claims.

I could not move away from the cross claims as quickly as I wanted to yesterday, so I have to touch on a few more.

So when you look at the cross of Jesus Christ, what is that cross saying about the relationship God wants to have with us.

And we said, first of all it says, I love you.

And thirdly it says, I want a relationship with you.

Now, there's many other things that that cross is saying.

And in that context, I'm going to put our prayer life in the context of looking at the cross just for a minute.

How does he increase when I'm looking at him who died on the cross?

In fact, I don't have the ability to make him increase.

And we said yesterday he actually decreased.

He emptied himself from heaven and came down and was obedient even to the point of death that he humbled himself even there.

That at His name every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess.

And so if you're looking at Jesus on the cross, how does he increase?

The Holy Spirit is the essence of making him increase.

The Holy Spirit brings conviction of who he is into our lives.

And so in the Holy Spirit's experience of looking at the cross, we begin to see the awe and wonder of who he is.

And the Holy Spirit brings and impresses on our mind the awe and wonder of the Savior who became a creator.

He became weak enough to die so that he could be strong enough to conquer death forever.

These are the ironies of the wonder, the amazing experience of the cross.

And so in this experience, as we look at the cross, We said that joy is what held him there.

It was looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of the faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and I sat down at the right hand of his father.

And in that experience, the world judged him worthy to die and they crucified him.

But in that experience of the cross, Jesus judged the world worthy to die for.

Thank God He always wins even when it feels or seems like things are getting worse.

This is the 1 position that I'm asking you to explore with me.

So now when you're looking at the cross and you see this, what kind of position should you take?

If the majesty of heaven came down to serve, what position should you and I take?

It's that that I want to talk about which is critical and essential to us preparing for the end when we don't understand why things are happening to us.

Well, let me wait for it because I have a slide for you.

Okay, so when you're looking at the cross, this is the amazing thing, the awe and the wonder.

This picture I handed out 2 years ago of the sanctuary, but this picture depicts...

I didn't design it, but I think there's a lot of nice things in it.

What it depicts is, on the 1 side, I don't think it's going to show it, but it says that Christ came down.

So the divine nature took on the human nature he was baptized and he died on Calvary that's Christ the sinner comes in and meets him at Calvary and is baptized and is transformed and meets him and the humanity meets divinity where divinity meets humanity as he comes in.

So the sanctuary service and experience is God simply saying I'm going to meet and connect and link my Humanity, I mean our humanity with his divinity He's the link.

And so when we go through the P-R-A-Y we say praise is for who God is.

Repentance is letting God reclaim control of our lives.

Asking is for what God wants to give us and we will have it.

I'm going to touch on that a little bit because this is an area that we often struggle with and yield is ready to let God use us as he chooses.

This is the quote that I used yesterday about the cross.

So when you're looking at the cross, and this is what Ellen White wrote to ministers after that 1888 resurgence of righteousness by faith.

She says, he has raised up his servants to present truth that because it involves lifting the cross has been lost sight of and is buried beneath the rubbish of formality.

It must be rescued and reset in the framework of present truth.

Its claims must be asserted and its position given in the third angel's message.

Spare thy people, Lord, and give not thy heritage to reproach.

Take from us what thou wilt, but withhold not thy Holy Spirit from us, thy people.

Pray, O pray for the outpouring of the Spirit of God." That's why we made the t-shirt, It's Going to rain.

Because when God promises He's going to give it to us, we have to be prepared to receive it.

So when you look at the cross, the accessibility to God through Jesus Christ is complete.

We have full access to the throne of grace.

Let us come boldly to the throne of grace because he is our high priest, our intercessor, the connector of the humanity and divinity.

And so when he has joy, we should have joy as he increases in our life.

This is 1 of the ways to make God increase.

In your prayer life, think about who he is and then just praise him.

And if you want these bookmarks afterwards, I'll give you this.

I don't want to confuse the bookmarks I've just printed for the new theme we've been doing and the old theme that we've been doing.

But if you understand and see God's attributes, then you can align your human attitude in harmony to let Him increase in your prayer life.

So if He's the Creator and holy, then you stand in awe of this holy creator and surrender to him.

If he has mercy and grace, you see your unworthiness of that mercy and grace at the cross.

He is the master, a father, you're a servant and a child, his Lord and Savior, you surrender.

So when you start to see who God is, holy, and you see how unworthy you are, you see how faithful and loving, His loving kindness is even better than life, then you begin to pray differently.
