You're about to enjoy a presentation recorded at the 2025 Michigan Conference Camping, held at Cedar Lake, Michigan.

We pray that the Lord will bless you as you listen.

Father in Heaven, thank you for your incredible loving kindness.

Thank you that you have given us enough reason to trust your heart.

Thank you that you have demonstrated your heart to us and we can claim your promises, your presence, and your power.

And So teach us to hear what the Spirit wants to say to the churches in Christ's name, amen.

When you look at the cross, where we see that it was in Hebrews 12 verse 2.

I am convinced that if you don't have the joy of the Lord in Jesus Christ to be your strength you will not be able to stand what is coming.

And we are not to be going around sober, somber, and do that privately.

If you want to put on ash cloth and be a grumpy person, do it privately.

Complain to the Lord in private, but in public display the joy of the Lord that he is in and through the cross because he for joy endured and so we for joy should endure because his love was stronger than his hurt our love and joy should be intact and untouchable joy.

Nothing can touch that joy of the cross experience of Jesus Christ.

And so it should be stronger than our hurt.

And we went through this, and I'm just recapping from yesterday.

He will increase when he gets the praise, right?

Because praise is who he is, which places us rightfully who we are.

He's the creator and owner and recreator of our lives.

Through repentance, He will increase when we repent.

Through asking and declaring our need and claiming his power, he will increase through this promise.

How much more, if we are evil parents, give good gifts to our children?

How much more when a good God give unreserved power and resource to us?

For those who ask Him in the Spirit, He wants to give us the Spirit, therefore if we ask for it, we will have it because He wants to give it and we want it.

And so, 2 years ago we started this and flipped this into real context.

I'm not going through this right now, but the illustration we're going to have today will explain this concept of the vine.

When you are in the vine, the vine is not asking for papayas if it's producing grapes.

It's not going to say, I'm tired of grapes, I want bananas.

The branch does not determine what the product of the fruit is, because it's connected to the vine.

And so stop asking for things he did not say and promise he's going to give us.

If you want to be confident in the answers of your prayers, begin not with things you're not sure of, if He wants to give it to you.

Begin with the things you're sure He wants to give you.

Why do we, God I'm going to put this fleece out now.

I'm not sure if you want to give it or not but I'm going to put this fleece out.

Why don't we ask for the things that are confident like wisdom, like forgiveness, like repentance, the gift of it and like angels to protect us like the holy spirit ask for the things that you know he's promised he wants you to have before you ask anything you're not sure if you should have it.

Because it's focused on us, not on him and what he wants.

And so when you're connected to the vine, It's not about you, it's about the vine.

You're just a branch producing what the vine determines he wants to give you.

And he says, I want you to have abundance of fruit, not just 1 or 2 grapes, bunches of grapes.

In other words, fruit is a reflection of the amount of connection and also reflection of the source.

Okay, so the Holy Spirit, John 15 verse 7.

And this is the 1 that the yield part, you will make, He will increase when you yield to him.

And this is maybe 1 of the most difficult.

Sometimes it's easier to praise than to yield.

It's easier to repent than to fully yield.

And it's this that struck me the most, because in the yielding, yielding in such a way for God to hold all of you.

And then we walk out of church and say, now I can do my thing.

We live conflicting lives when all is not surrendered.

And so surrendered ready to be used or not be used.

Lord, when it comes to nominating committee, and you didn't put me in the position I want to be, how do I still have a good attitude?

To be used or not to be used as he chooses yielding.

1st Timothy 6.6 Paul says, now godliness with contentment is great gain.

Imagine if you had godliness and non-contentment.

So godliness and contentment are hand in glove together.

And he will increase when there's contentment as he supplies the godliness.

I'm gonna have 1 more prayer because this is 1 of the most critical aspects for a people of God who are called to have the patience of the saints.

To have the patience of the saints means you're going to trust His heart completely.

Father in Heaven, in our Western world, We struggle with this the most.

We have become so self-sufficient, so scientific, so self-independent.

Teach us these lessons today that you may hear how to trust your heart.

When you look at the cross, How is He going to increase when you're looking at the cross?

Spend time looking at the cross that He can increase.

This quote from Ellen White's in Steps to Christ, we should be willing to trust everything everything to the hand that was nailed to the cross for us.

It's the 1 quote I have from Steps to Christ on my email.

Every email I send has that little signature at the bottom, this quote, because it's a reminder for me and an invitation to all of us that if you see that and experience it, Hey, there is nothing more privileged for us to trust those hands that were nailed for us.

To trust not just What we want to trust Him with so that we can benefit, in tomorrow's verse, we're going to talk about today's verse in the bulletin that's been handed out, that's Mark chapter 10, but tomorrow is Psalm 103, and it says all the benefits.

We're not trusting him just because we want benefits.

We're trusting him because he has demonstrated he's worthy to be completely trusted.

And this is the story we're going to have.

And so in the progressive positions that God wants us to have, and this is the experience that I'm inviting you to explore in the rest of this week.

What is the first position when you look at the cross you should respond and take looking at the cross?

The first position when you look at the cross is He came to serve us.

When you don't understand why this is happening to me, when you don't understand what is happening to us, When you don't understand, just be a servant.

And then when you start to understand, we're going to talk about this tomorrow, You can begin to trust him as a child.

And then, ultimately, Friday, we're going to be talking about how to trust him.

When he makes you his friend, You can't determine that you are His friend.
