Our last presentation, we talked about the judgment beginning when, does anybody remember when the judgment began?

We learned that in 1844, the atonement, also known as the judgment, began in heaven.

God initiated a movement on earth to warn the world that the last phase in the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven had already started.

The blood of Jesus covers the sins recorded on the books.

As God is preparing us to go home, God accomplishes that cleansing through a daily experience of every day coming to Christ, asking God to forgive us, to make sure that there is no sin between me and my Savior.

Every day recommitting our lives to the Lord.

Every day asking for the outpouring of the Spirit on my life.

Every day getting into God's Word, the bread of life, and communing with Him in prayer, and this is the daily experience.

This is the experience we've talked through already in the sanctuary, isn't it?

It's the daily experience right here in the holy place that we're to go.

And we've talked about when we do sin and when things come apart, we come back out into the courtyard still surrounded by Christ's righteousness, still in his salvation.

We come back here and go to the cross and receive the blood again, amen?

When the day of atonement ends, Jesus will return.

I hear a few amens, I think I should hear a few more.

You know in the Bible that there is 1 of the most, this is 1 of the most exciting themes repeated over and over.

In fact, the Bible records or mentions the second coming 2, 500 times.

This blessed hope is the climax of our joy and our hope.

And sadly today there is a great deal of confusion about the coming of Jesus.

And It's just the way the devil would have it, isn't it?

The devil's goal is always to confuse people.

When Jesus came the first time, if we remember, Satan set out to confuse Jesus' plan.

The Bible talked about that Jesus would be born in what city?

And as we studied the series and prophecies of Daniel, it also indicated the time the Messiah would come.

Instead, people came up with fanciful things.

And the people either didn't study for themselves, they listened to religious leaders who taught the Messiah would be a conquering king, Or maybe it was just out of a hope of the hatred of the Romans.

Israel, the people of God, who had all the right books right there in front of them, but they were deceived.

And you know, I personally am concerned the devil has a similar plan in terms of the second coming.

Today, there are 2 central teachings with a few variations from these.

The predominant 1 talks about a second coming in 2 stages.

The first is something called a secret rapture and then there is the 7 years of tribulation between the actual coming.

And we will find that after the actual coming, Jesus will come, according to this teaching, and set up his kingdom amongst the sinful nations and reign for a thousand years.

You're gonna find in this study today, This is not what the Bible teaches.

We find that this rapture they talk about is a sneaky, quiet event.

Jesus somehow sneaks up on planet earth and then poof, people start disappearing.

I sure hope I'm not on a plane when that happens.

This teaching says that the rapture takes place before the revelation of the Antichrist and before the 7 years of tribulation.

Even during the 7 years, the wicked have a second chance to redeem themselves.

In fact, they even have a third chance during the thousand years that Jesus sets up His kingdom amongst the wicked.

When you ask people to study the second coming, many have beliefs, but very few, if any, have text to support those beliefs.

It is more about what their pastor said or what some fictional book they have read says.

A lot of you might actually understand all of this already and that's fine, but I would challenge you for 2 reasons.

And 2 is, there are so many people who have misconceptions about this.

It's great for you to have a Bible study, to be able to do this study with people.

Our presentation, when the day of atonement ends, Jesus' second coming, I'm gonna begin with prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father, Lord we come before you excited.

Father it's your Sabbath day, a day we get to spend with you.

Father, we're excited because we know you are coming soon.

And Father, we're excited that today, for many of us, this will be a refresh.

That Father, you make it clear in your Bible how you will come.

So number 1, jumping right in, who is the 1 who will soon emerge from the temple in heaven?

Revelation 14, 14, then I looked up and behold a white cloud and on the cloud sat 1 like the son of man, having on his head a golden crown.

You know, in the Old Testament, on the Day of Atonement, as the record of Israel's sins are collected over the year, it was to be cleansed, right?

The people were outside, focused on what was happening in the temple.

They were literally just standing there or kneeling there, focused on what was going on.

They needed to think and ensure that there was nothing between their soul and their Savior, because once the High Priest came out, it was over.

And if anything were remaining between their soul and their Savior, they would be cut off.

This process wasn't a specific amount of time.

It wasn't like they said the high priest has been in there for a little while, it's only 45 minutes more, and then he's going to come out.

They never knew when the High Priest was going to come out.

They would sit there waiting, watching, listening, praying.

And I think there's a message in there for you and me.

As our High Priest is in the heavenly sanctuary, cleansing the books, we need to be focusing as well.

We need to be waiting, watching, listening, praying.

We need to know that time is short, but we do not know the day or the hour Christ is coming.
