This morning for Sabbath school, we learned that when Jesus' work is done in the most holy place on the day of atonement, he will stand up, he will exit the sanctuary and come to take us home.

The Bible describes Jesus' second coming with lightning, with thunder, with trumpets, with shouting, with roaring.

I'm guessing that's gonna be pretty loud.

The Bible is clear that every eye will see him and that all the angels of heaven will be there.

Have you ever, I told this in the first 1, Have you ever had someone gone for so long that your whole house jumps in the car to go pick that person up?

Remember, Jesus will not touch the ground.

And those who are alive at Christ's coming, the saints and those who are dead saints will be raised up and captured together, raptured together.

I asked the first, in first service, or in Sabbath school, I asked you guys not to stone me because I said the Seventh-day Adventist church believes in rapture.

We do, we just don't believe in a secret rapture.

It's a more, instead of secret rapture, I would probably say it's a loud, everyone's gonna know it rapture, right?

For church today, we're gonna dive a little deeper into what happens when you die.

You know, this is a very relevant question.

There are a lot of people who say that dead loved ones visit them.

Maybe some of you have even believed it in the past.

Maybe some of you have had what was thought to be a dead relative visit you.

So maybe you already understand what we teach or this doctrine, but this is a great review because most of the world believes in this stuff.

And I would challenge you to keep your notes, to know your notes, so that you can share this with someone else.

I'm also about knowing what the Bible has to say, aren't you?

That was a… that was pretty weak, church.

I'm about knowing what the Bible has to say.

We have to remember that for every truth, the devil has a counterfeit.

How many of you, if you were gonna counterfeit money, would counterfeit the $3 bill?

You don't counterfeit the fake, you counterfeit the real.

To start, we truly need to understand what happens… to truly understand what happens when we die, we must go to the beginning, to Eden.

The Garden of Eden, God had given Adam and Eve free reign of the garden.

They could have all the fruit of any tree they wanted but 1.

There was another tree that they ate from often.

The tree was a symbol of man's dependence upon God for life.

Access was given to this tree, gave them life.

It was a reminder that life was not derived of themselves, but came from God.

And that life was upon reliance of God, obedience to Him.

As most of you know, they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

The Bible tells us that the wages of sin are death.

And I'm excited the story doesn't end there, aren't you?

Have you ever thought what you would have done if you were in God's shoes?

I've asked this of this church before, and I'm sure glad you guys didn't put me in charge because I probably wouldn't have put up with it all.

Christ could have just stayed in heaven, and who would have blamed Him?

He wasn't going to stay in heaven when the love of God's life is here on earth So, what did he do he took off his ground crown He came into this cesspool Sin-filled world He risked eternal loss to save you.

Jesus not only came as our sacrifice, but today he is our great high priest in heaven.

And in more awesome news, Jesus, our high priest, was given the keys to the grave.

Revelation 118, I am he who lives and was dead.

And I have the keys of Hades and of death.

So Jesus, through his victory, has the keys now to set us free from the captivity of death.

There was a couple of amens early on, but I should hear a few more.

Jesus, through his experience, has the right to explain to us what death is, because he has been there, done that.

The study will help us lay the groundwork for our next presentation on the next phase of judgment.

But I want you to remember when we examined investigative judgment concerning the decisions made by those who have given their lives to Christ.

Our next study on Wednesday, we are going to look at the sentencing stage.

I tried to pray at the end of announcements.

I'm struggling this morning, bear with me, friends.

But we're gonna look at the sentencing stage of the judgment.

So I would encourage you to come Wednesday.

This study on death will help us understand those steps that we're gonna get to.

Okay, number 1, what are some of the different concepts regarding death?

There are all sorts of theories and there's mixed theories.

I'm gonna just hit the the highlights of a few.

This is probably 1 of the most common scientific ones out there.

You came from slime, we just return to slime.
