In our last presentation, we looked at the third and final phase of judgment concerning the destruction of the wicked.

First, when would the destruction of the evil take place?

The Bible clearly shows us that the destruction of the wicked is after the thousand years at the end of the world, not at death like so many people teach.

We learned that it doesn't take place in some deep, dark bowels of the earth.

Instead, it's right here on the planet Earth, right?

And as the enemies of God surround the new Jerusalem, they seek to destroy it.

And the third phase of the judgment is carried out and the wicked are destroyed.

You remember, I see lots of nodding heads, so that's a good thing.

Contrary to popular belief and teaching today, it's not eternal.

In fact, the destruction of the wicked is described in the Bible as them vanishing, as them burning up, as them turning to ashes and perishing.

We serve a God who is loving and merciful.

Now tonight, we're gonna take a step back because we've studied some amazing things about God in regards to his plan of salvation, particularly on the day of atonement.

We have seen in the Bible that since October 22, 1844, which is really cool, we met on October 22, and that's right in the middle of all of this, the judgment in heaven has been underway.

The final phase of God's plan to save humanity and to bring an end to sin has been underway for some time.

Realizing this, realizing that we are living in Earth's final moments, the final moments of Earth's history, that the plan of salvation is nearing an end, that Christ has almost completed his work in the heavenly sanctuary, shouldn't this knowledge impact us personally?

It should change how we view things in the world.

Second Peter 3, 10 through 13 reads, but the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise and the elements will melt with fervent heat.

Both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up." Verse 11, "'Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness?

Looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, which of, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire and the elements will melt "'with fervent heat.

"'Nevertheless, we, according to his promise, "'look for new heavens and a new earth "'in which righteousness dwells.'" So Peter is saying, recognizing the time we are living in.

We should be seeking to be holy and like God.

We should be focused, friends, in myself, can I be holy?

But we've walked through a model in the sanctuary of spending time with God on our knees in the Word and asking for the Holy Spirit to fill us.

Those are like breathing to us as Christians.

Tonight's presentation is looking at what type of people God wants us to be.

So number 1, what principle will a child of God, I'm sorry, what principle will a child of God live by who is waiting for Christ's soon coming?

Leviticus 11, 44, For I am the Lord your God, you shall therefore consecrate, and in parentheses we put a little added sanctify, yourselves and you shall be holy for I am holy.

There's some other texts there, if you wanted to look those up later.

You can also look at 2 Corinthians 7, 1 or 1 John 3, 2 and 3.

When the Bible says you shall consecrate or sanctify, it means that we should be, we should sanctify ourselves, right?

What sanctify means is set aside for holy use.

That is actually the goal of the plan of salvation.

The transformation of the sinner to a saint.

Drawing closer, getting to know Jesus, and beginning to look and act like Him.

I've said this so many times, but I love saying things over and over sometimes just to make sure my point is made.

When we spend so much time, You've seen couples when they first start dating and then they get married.

After a while you look at them and say, they look and act just alike.

Friends, that is the goal of the plan of salvation.

Spend so much time with Jesus that you begin to sound and act like him because what you're filling your mind with is right here.

Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

What this text is saying is not about doing it our way.

It's about doing it God's way, Christ's way.

Allowing him to place a new heart in you, that your desires, your ambitions change.

Not forcefully, but lovingly, excitingly.

Sadly, much of the Christian world is not actually seeking God's will.

We often hear, follow your heart, Do what makes you happy.

Yet the Bible says, do what is acceptable unto God.

First Corinthians 10 31 is a framework for our study this evening.

Therefore, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

In other words, every aspect of our lives, from what we eat to what we drink, should always be with God in the center, God's will for us.

The serious times in which we live demand that Christians live what kind of lives?

The title of our talk tonight is living in the Day of Atonement.

And you'll recall that the anti-typical Day of Atonement, when the Day of Atonement was taking place in Israel, what were the people of Israel doing?

Fasting, praying, searching their hearts, making sure that they didn't leave anything between their soul and their Savior.

Making sure that we walk in the sanctuary, We spend that time with God every day.

So the first section tonight, we're gonna look at what whatsoever we eat and drink.

Number 2, what was the original diet that God designed for humans.

Does anybody in here like working on cars or did at some point?

Well this is this is pretty basic so you'll understand.

If you've ever been to a mechanic, you kind of know that.

They require, I mean, some, we all know they need either gasoline or diesel, right?

Unless you've got a fully electric and then they need electricity, but we're talking about a traditional car.
