Ten Steps to Healing

Shall we sing the little chorus, just 1 stanza, wonderful, wonderful Jesus?

Wonderful, wonderful Jesus He is my friend True to the end He gave himself to redeem me ♪ Jesus, Wonderful Lord Shall we pray?

Dear Lord, in this special service, we come to you claiming the special promise of the Holy Spirit as found in Luke 11, 13.

We believe thy healing love is being manifested.

And we thank you, you're now making me a nail on the wall to hold your picture in its place.

I'd like to have you notice this at this hour 10 special steps toward healing you may be free to take notes if you wish for we've noticed in various places where we've presented this, many people are taking notes so that they can review this study when they return to their homes.

For these will be 10 steps that each 1 of us will want to take and we'll want to keep reviewing ourselves in these steps so that we can open our whole being to God's healing agencies.

Number 1, don't blame yourself if you're sick.

And it says, There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit.

So number 1 is, don't go around under guilt because we're ill.

God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him should be saved.

Step number 2, don't condemn anyone else if he's sick.

And the text for this is Revelation, the 12th chapter and the 10th verse.

Speaking of Satan it says, the accuser of our brethren is cast down.

This is telling us that all accusation comes from the devil and therefore if we go around condemning somebody who is ill, we are associates of the evil 1.

So number 1, don't condemn ourselves if we're sick.

Number 2, don't condemn anyone else if he's sick.

Now before we point out the next 1, each of these 10 items that we want to present to you at this hour, we want to think of them as pillars.

If you were to drive a pillar, say 12 foot square, down into the earth 10 feet, it would be pretty hard to move it, wouldn't it?

It is to be placed solidly in our thinking so that any other item that we present will in no way shake another item or point that has been presented, you see.

All right, the first pillar was don't condemn yourself if you're sick.

The second pillar is don't condemn anyone else.

The third pillar is found in, in 3 John verse 2.

And the text says, I would above all things, beloved I would above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers.

So it is God's wish and it is the wish of God's children that everyone would be in health and prosper.

Now the third pillar in no way counteracts or cancels out the first or the second.

We still are not to condemn ourselves if we're sick.

We're still not to condemn anybody else if he's sick, but God still wants us to be well.

It's very important because there are many, many people who have gained the impression, some or another, that probably they'll bring God a lot more glory if they're sick.

Maybe by my being sick I can bring God more credit.

There are some exceptions to the rule, but the rule is God wants His children to be well.

There's no exception to God's wish that we all be well.

Now we're going to deal with pillar 4 and 5 and 6.

And I'm going to share with you some statements from someone who has taught me more about healing than any other earthly teacher.

And points 4, 5 and 6 are found from the writings of my favorite author and the book is entitled The Ministry of Healing.

Some of you dear ones have already read from that beautiful book.

I'm referring to statements from this book because they're in more modern language than the King James Version.

But every 1 of them is buttressed and backed by the Bible, as you'll notice as we cover them.

0.4, or pillar 4, And this is found in that beautiful book, The Ministry of Healing, page 246.

I'm paraphrasing the statement that is made there.

0.4, there are thousands who can recover health if they will.

Doesn't that give us a beautiful concept?

There are thousands who can recover health if they will.

Remember This fourth pillar, however, friends, does not cancel out the first, you see.

Just because there are thousands who can recover health is no reason why I should go around blaming myself or you should be blaming yourself because you're sick.

We're not to go around blaming somebody else because he's sick, just because there are thousands who can recover health if they will.

The object of the study is not to put anybody under condemnation, do you see?

But it's to show us the way out, step by step out.

0.5, from the same book and the same page, and it follows 0.4, God does not want them to be ill.

We know that is biblical because under 0.3 we covered that.

Beloved, I would above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." So God does not want them to be sick or to be ill.

Now 0.6 or pillar 6 follows in the same book and the same page and the next sentence.

And I love it because I've been studying it for more than 30 years and the principle that's contained in there, the biblical principle, here it is, 0.6.

They should make up their minds to get well.

It reminds me of a lady that came to 1 of our services.

A week or 2 later she wrote a letter to us.

We'd finished the series and we'd gone on to other parts.

She said, Dear Pastor Kuhn, I want to thank the Lord that that night I was in your service, I was healed.

But she said, I came planning to be healed.

They should make up their minds to be well.

Now it doesn't mean that everybody's healed instantly, but we want to give you a little formula.

And there are people in all of our audiences who have to think 2 or 3 times before they follow us, and it is this.

Every child of God who remains a child of God will be healed.

It isn't just the way many of us have heard it.

Either now or later in time or in the resurrection.

Yes, every child of God who remains a child of God is going to be healed.

So we are to make up our minds to get well.
