Our loving Heavenly Father, we thank you once again for the privilege of being in your presence.

We thank you, Father, for your holy word.

We thank you because we have not believed cunningly devised fables.

We thank you that we're able to trust every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

We ask that as we open that word this evening that your Holy Spirit will be with us as the Holy Spirit has been with us in our previous studies.

I ask Lord that you'll give us understanding, that you will give us a willingness to not only hear, but actually receive and practice what you have for us.

And we thank you for hearing our prayer, for we ask it in Jesus' name.

Up to this point, we have been making a comparison between the earthly sanctuary and its services and the heavenly sanctuary and its services.

But in our study today, I would like us to take a look at another temple that the Bible mentions.

Now I must say that several years ago I heard a presentation by Elder W.D.

Frazee who was the founder of Wildwood Institute in Georgia.

And some of the material that I'm going to share with you today is actually material that he presented in that particular lecture.

I felt that it was so excellent that it would be a good idea to share some of it with you.

Now some of the material is my own but some of the material is his.

I believe that I need to give credit where credit is due although all of the glory and honor belongs to God.

Now I'd like to read 1st Corinthians chapter 6 verses 19 and 20 where this specific temple is mentioned.

1st Corinthians chapter 6 verses 19 and 20.

Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him.

For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

So notice here we have another dimension to the temple.

This is not speaking about an earthly building or a heavenly building, it's speaking about our body temple, which according to this passage belongs to God, is holy, and the Holy Spirit dwells within it.

Now what I'm going to do is draw a parallel between the heavenly sanctuary and our body temple, and we're going to take a look at several parallels between the heavenly sanctuary or the heavenly temple and the earthly body temple.

The first point that I would like to mention is that both temples were made by God to be his dwelling place.

Notice Hebrews chapter 8 and verses 1 and 2 where we clearly see that the heavenly sanctuary was built by God and that's the place where he dwells.

It says there in Hebrews 8 1 and 2 Now this is the main point of the things we are saying.

We have such a high priest who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the majesty in the heavens.

A minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected and not man.

But the Bible also tells us that this body temple was made by God to be his dwelling place.

Notice Genesis chapter 2 and verse 7 speaking about the creation of our body which we've already read is the temple of the Holy Spirit in 1st Corinthians 6 19 and 20.

Genesis 2 verse 7 says, And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being.

And so we notice here that God formed man with his own hands.

The earthly body temple was also formed by God.

Notice also Psalm 139 and verses 13 and 14, once again the idea that our body temple was formed by God.

Here the psalmist says the following words speaking about the body temple, he's speaking actually to God and says, For you formed my inward parts, you covered me in my mother's womb.

I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well.

So these 2 verses tell us that God formed us and we are fearfully and wonderfully made because we were made by God himself.

Psalm 119 and verse 773 emphasizes this same point that our body temple was made by God.

Once again Psalm 119 and verse 73 says the following, and the psalmist is speaking to God.

Your hands have made me and fashioned me.

Give me understanding that I may learn your commandments.

Let's read 1 more verse where the Bible tells us that God formed our body temple.

We've read this verse in previous context but let's read it again.

It says here, But now O Lord, you are our Father, we are the clay, and you our potter, and all we are the work of your hand.

And so we notice that the 2 temples, the heavenly temple and our body temple were created by God to be His dwelling place.

In fact let's notice that in Isaiah 57 and verse 15, Isaiah 57 and verse 15.

I want you to notice that God wants to dwell in 2 places.

It says there, for thus says the high and lofty 1 who inhabits eternity.

But now notice, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

And so does God dwell in 2 places according to scripture.

Yes, He dwells in eternity in the high and holy place, but he also dwells with a person who is humble and contrite of heart.

So the first parallel is that both temples, the heavenly temple and the body temple on earth, were made by God to be his dwelling place.

In both temples there is a law written with the finger of God.

Let's talk first of all about the heavenly temple, Revelation chapter 11 and verse 19, Revelation chapter 11 and verse 19 speaking about the heavenly temple.

It says, Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of his covenant was seen in his temple.

And what did John see in the heavenly temple?

And it says, And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.

Now why is the Ark of the Covenant called the Ark of the Covenant?

Simply because the conditions or the stipulations of the covenant were the 10 Commandments.

In fact let's notice Exodus 31 and verse 18, Exodus 31 and verse 18 where we are told that the law of God was written by God's own finger, it's the law that was placed inside the ark of the covenant in the temple.

It says there, And when he had made an end of speaking with him, that is with Moses, on Mount Sinai, he gave Moses 2 tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone written with the finger of God.

Is there a temple in heaven that has an Ark of the Covenant with the tables of the law that were written by the very finger of God?

Do we have a law that God has written in our body temple?

Let me read you a statement that we find in the book Education page 196 and then I'm going to mention another text from scripture.

Here Ellen White is commenting about our body temple and incidentally Ellen White had tremendous interest in our physical being, in the laws of our physical nature, the laws of health as we're going to notice in our study today.

This is what she says in the book education page 196.

The laws of nature are the laws of God, as truly divine as are the precepts of the Decalogue.

The laws of nature are the laws of God as truly divine as are the precepts of the Decalogue.

And then she says the laws that govern our physical organism God has written.

Are there laws that govern our physical organism, yes or no?

She says the laws that govern our physical organism God has written upon every nerve, muscle, and fiber of our body.

So has God written laws of our physical nature?
