I love song that is based upon the Word of God.

Amen The Word of God is powerful and we can trust That God is trying to bless us and lead us when he reveals his word to us.

Amen In fact, I'm going to show you something, a verse in the Bible that's been really, really touching my heart lately.

Take your Bibles and go to Proverbs chapter 13, verse 13.

And now pay attention to the Word of God pay attention to how clear the Word of God is he who despises the word now what's very interesting about the word despises It doesn't just mean someone who is intentionally hating upon God's Word.

Actually, it can also mean neglecting the Word.

He who despises the Word of God will be destroyed.

God is showing the inevitable outcomes of people who are rejecting his word his words are words of life So therefore to despise that word will ultimately lead to death and destruction But watch what the rest of the proverb says but he who fears the what?

The Bible teaches what will be the inevitable results of fearing God's commandments.

And that's why we're here today We want God to bless us as we keep his Sabbath.

Now I'm gonna share 1 other verse with you And in fact, I'm gonna have somebody special read that verse for you.

Is somebody who's been talking to me lately about wanting to be a preacher.

So Tristan, can you come up here for a second?

All right ladies and gentlemen, before we go any further, why don't we bow our heads for a word of prayer and let's ask the Holy Spirit to invigorate us through His Word.

Father, thank you so much again for the blessings of the Sabbath.

Lord, you said, he who fears the commandment, who gives respect to your commandments, will be rewarded.

And, Lord, we know that, as David said earlier, you want our best in everything.

And so, God, we pray that you would bless us as we Are worshiping you as we are praising your holy name Send the Holy Spirit Lord to give us the present blessing for this.

Now, let's see what the Bible says Whoever commits sin also commits what?

Lawlessness now watch what else the Bible says and sin is what?

What is the definition of sin ladies and gentlemen?

It is lawlessness and what is lawlessness?

God's law now, let's go ahead and look again 1 more time at first John chapter 3 first John chapter 3 And look again at verse 4 Whoever commits sin also commits what?

Lawlessness make sure you understand that we have a working definition for what sin is now go a few verses later go to verse 7 okay now don't forget that definition of the word sin little children let no 1 what deceive you he who practices Righteousness is righteous just as he is righteous now watch what it says he who what?
