Are You Bleeding?

And if God's passionate about something this morning, how many of you think that we ought to be passionate about it?

I believe this morning He's passionate about you.

I also believe that he's passionate about something that's bigger than just us.

And so we're going to talk about 1 thing this morning that God is passionate about.

And so I'm going to invite you to bow your heads wherever you are.

We're just going to ask the Lord's blessing to be with us as we dive in today.

Father in heaven this morning as we examine the scriptures as we examine what your word has to say about what you're passionate about I pray this morning Lord you draw our hearts to you and pray that your passion if it's not already our passion will become our passion and if it is our passion that you deepen that passion in our lives and that we would see that the 1 great object of heaven today is the redemption of men, redemption of women, the redemption of humanity.

And so Lord I pray that you'd put that burden upon our hearts today.

If you looked into the depths of God's heart today, what would you see?

You know, when you look into the depths of someone's heart, you find what's very important to them, yes or no?

You find what they're crazy about, what they're excited about, what they're passionate about.

And so my question for you this morning is, if you could just peer into the depths of the heart of God, if you could enter a room or you could be in a place where you could look right into the core of the heart of the God of heaven, what would you see?

If you could see, if there was a picture that you could see in God's heart and the core, what would that picture be?

I think it would be lost humanity that Christ is aiming to save.

Wouldn't you agree with that this morning?

If you could know God's heart, what would you know?

What knowledge would you obtain if you could know the heart of God?

Do you know the heart of God this morning?

He knows my heart, but do you know His heart today?

If you go to John 17 with me, the Gospel of John chapter 17, and we'll find out in part this morning what is in the heart of God?

So I've got to ask you, are you awake this morning?

If you're not, I can throw something at you or something to wake you up.

I just want to make sure you're awake this morning.

If they're not alive, just resuscitate them a little bit.

John chapter 17, Jesus says in verse 3, And this is what everyone, eternal life that they may want, know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

This is the core, if you will, of the heart of God.

That every person in this room, that every person in Lansing, that Every person in the world would know their Maker, would know their Creator, would know their Redeemer.

And to know God, if you know God, then what's the natural result?

And how many of you are grateful today for the wonderful promise that Jesus gives, that if you know Him and you believe in Him and you have faith in what He's done for you and you accept that and receive that into your life, that you have the assurance of eternal life.

Do you have that assurance this morning in your own life?

I'm not just talking to the visitors here, I'm talking to every person.

I'm talking to those that have sat in these pews for 30 years, I'm talking to you.

Do You know that you have that assurance in Jesus.

Because He wants to give it to you, and He wants you to have it, and He wants you to experience it, and He wants it to drive your daily life.

He wants you to Trust Him, because His plan for you is better than any other.

That's what's in the heart of God, that you would know Him.

That's what's in the heart of God, that you would experience Him.

That's what's in the heart of God, that you would have eternal life.

That co-worker that's on the line working with you in the factory.

That dude that you bump into at the Meijer store, who's got tattoos all over his arm and a big beard, and he freaks you out because He's got big loopholes in his ear and nose rings and all that.

That girl who sold herself to countless men because she doesn't know what else to do with her life, she doesn't know how to survive, Her too.

He wants them to experience eternal life.

He wants our lives to be radically transformed.

Father, I desire that they also whom you gave me may be with me where I am, and that they may behold my glory which you have given to me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world.

O righteous Father, the world has not known you, but I have known you, and these that have known you that you sent me, and I have declared to them your name, and will declare it that the love which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them." That's the passion of the heart of Jesus today.

That's the desire of the Lord Jesus, that you and everybody else may know Him, and may be drawn to Him, and may accept Him, and may experience Him.

Have you ever known something that's so exciting?

I got my words confused because my son, when he gets excited, instead of saying, I'm excited, he says, I'm exciting.

Have you ever been so excited about something that you just can't stand to hold it within yourself and you gotta tell somebody else?

I mean, you've had that experience before, right?

This last night, I'm not bragging on myself, but I'm just gonna tell you the story, but yesterday afternoon, I should say, I went down, I bought some flowers for my wife and some nice chocolates.

And I put them on the counter and I made this little homemade car.

I'm not bragging about it, you understand.

But I'm just giving you men a lesson here.

And I set it up and I and I had in my mind, you know I'm gonna I'm gonna wait until morning for her to come down to see it there, but I was so excited I just I almost Called her downstairs to see it right then.

And I could hardly contain myself to wait until morning.

And she came down and she says, you stinker.

Because she couldn't go out and buy me anything.
