The Big Sin

Lift up the trumpet and loudly sing, Jesus is coming again.

Cheer up, you pilgrims, be joyful and sing, Jesus is coming again.

O Thou God of all, hear us when we call, Help us 1 and all by Thy grace.

When the battle's done and all victory won, may we wear the crown before thy face.

Rousing soldiers rally round the banner, Ready, steady, pass the word along.

Almighty and everlasting Father, we ask thee to so control the councils of the nations that the gospel of thy beloved Son shall not be hindered, but the infinite spirit of eternal truth may move in its freedom and purity and power through all the earth.

We have sinned against thee and are not worthy of thy mercies, but in great compassion thou hast given thy son to be wounded for our transgressions.

And thy call to us is, seek ye the Lord while he may be found, for he will abundantly pardon.

Richly bless all who hear this international broadcast, creating us new and contrite hearts to walk gladly in Thy commandments and bring us at the last into thy glorious dwelling place above through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Is a place of quiet rest, near to the heart of God.

A place where sin cannot more last, near to the heart of God.

O Jesus, blessed Redeemer, sent from the heart of God.

Hold us to wait before thee, near to the heart of God.

Really, it is thrilling to know that our friends are listening to the voice of prophecy at the same time, even though thousands of miles away.

A lady in Lytton, Indiana, writes, From the very depths of my heart come these words of gratitude and thanks for the messages over the air and of free Bible lessons.

My daughter lives in another state, but she listens to the Voice of Prophecy every Sunday.

As we are both tuned to the same station hearing the same program, we feel that we can attend services together, even though many miles apart.

After last Sunday's message, she wrote, Mother, wasn't it good?

Her little daughter, less than 3 years old, said in the letter, Mom's listening too.

So as we lift our hearts to God and listen, he unites us and we fellowship together.

How better could you win a soul for Christ?

And now the King's Herald says, blessed are they that do.

Blessed are they that do His commandments.

They with Joy may enter the city, free from sin, from sorrow and strife.

Sanctified, glorified, now and forever, They may have right to the tree of life.

Blessed are they that do his commandments, blessed, blessed, blessed are they.

The sin called the great transgression in Psalm 19, 13.

Surely the Lord would not warn us against something that we could never know anything about.

Moreover, sin is counted sin only when there is knowledge.

In James 4, verse 17, we read, That to him who knows to do good, and does it not, to him it sinned.

When a person doesn't know an act is wrong, he is not held accountable.

Of the educated men who rejected him, Jesus said, I'm reading John 15, 22, If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin.

But now, that is, since I have come and explained the word of God to them, they have no cloak, or as the margin reads, excuse for their sin.

When a man knows right and does wrong, God counts it sin.

According to the Bible, it's the transgression of God's law.

In that remarkable interfaith declaration of Protestants, Catholics and Jews on world peace, published in October 1942, the first point states that the moral law must govern the world, and That's the only way to get a just peace.

A Roman Catholic Bishop recently declared at a solemn mass in St.

Patrick's Cathedral in New York, that the 10 Commandments are the only basis for world power and lasting peace after victory.

And many others, Protestants and Catholics alike, are declaring the same thing.

When Christ was questioned as to which was the greatest commandment, He put duty to God first, as we read in Matthew 22, 37.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

This is the first and great commandment, the big commandment.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

On these 2 commandments hang all the law and the prophets, just as your 10 fingers hang on your 2 arms.

So all the 10 commandments hang on these 2 principles, love to God and love to man.

It has never been abrogated, destroyed, abolished, weakened, done away with, made void, or annulled.

In its great principles it stands fast forever.

Psalm 119, 142, Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.

We must never forget that the right preaching of faith in Christ as our Savior never makes void God's law.

Romans 321, Do we then make void the law through faith?

Now what is the big sin, the great transgression?

The following story, I believe, is a clue.

Once in the city of Chicago, a young man came to a prominent evangelist, I believe it was Dr.

He was asked if he had repented of his sins and been converted.

He said he had never been a sinner and didn't have to be converted.

He had been reared right and carefully and was a moral man and wasn't a sinner.

Then the preacher asked him what he considered the greatest sin to be.

The minister said, you're greatly mistaken.

Message to the Millions

These rich blessings we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.

But first, the King's Herald sing the song that has challenged millions, Lift up the trumpet Jesus is coming again.

Nations are angry by this do we know, Jesus is coming again.

Knowledge increases men run through and go.

And now, the voice of prophecy, his subject, the message to the millions.

The message of Christ crucified, Christ ascended, Christ coming again, must indeed go to the millions.

For his promise in Matthew 24, verse 14, in plain, clear words declares, And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come.

And how the millions do need to hear the message.

Not long ago I read that there are more heathen people now than there were a generation ago, 3 or 400000000 more.

In India the pilgrims still go to the Ganges River to wash away their sins in its supposed holy waters.

It is said that at the Kammila, 3000000 went to the ceremony recently.

The devotee holds the tail of a cow, the tusk of an elephant, or the hair of a goat, and repeats a prayer after which he is supposed to be pure.

In another part of the ceremony, the people stand waist deep in the water, waiting for the rising sun, and just at the moment its rim is seen above the horizon, they all cry in unison, Ran-Ran Ganga-mai, and immerse their bodies in the water of the sacred Ganges.

As many as a hundred thousand can be seen at a time patiently standing, shivering in the water, waiting to perform this rite, only to leave it with their sins unforgiven.

Yes, the heathen world needs the message of Christ, and the so-called Christian nations need it, too.

The latest available reports on crime conditions in our own land, as furnished by the FBI, reveal that crimes were committed at the rate of over 158 an hour, a total of 1, 393, 655 major crimes a year.

Every day was clouded by 28 murders and 150 cases of aggravated assault.

In connection with this, it's significant that 1 lone murder story writer sold 5, 403, 000 copies of his works in the United States and Canada last year.

There are conditions in the religious world also that cause concern.

It's reported that previous to the First World War, more than 50% of the people of the British Isles attended some place of worship.

Today, probably less than 10% are worshipping Christians.

A seminary professor recently made a study of churches in this land in which some church leaders strongly object.

He reports that 5% of reported members do not exist, 10% can't be found, 20% never pray, 25% never read the Bible, 30% never attend church services, 40% never give to any cause, 50% never go to Sunday school, 60% never go to church on Sunday night, 70% never give to missions, 75% never take any part in church activity, 80% never go to prayer meeting, 90% never have family worship, and 95% never win a soul to Christ.

Does the world need the gospel message today?

Does it need the message of power and salvation?

The world needs the message of Christ, and we know that it will go to all the earth.

In the book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible, we find a picture of God's message going to the last people to live in this world, a message to warn them and win them to Christ before the end of the age.

Here it is, Revelation 14, verse 6, And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel, to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment is come, and worship Him that made heaven and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of water.' Notice, this message is the everlasting gospel, and it goes literally to the million.

It calls people back to the worship of the living God, the Creator of all things, and it warns of the judgment hour.

A day of skepticism is called back to the worship of God.

An age of apostasy is called back, face to face with the judgment.

The years of the lost and unsatisfied millions are to hear the gospel, the good news about Christ.

A voice of warning will be heard over the wide, wide world.

The Bible prophecy pictures it, and we know that God's word of prophecy is always fulfilled.

Some time ago 1 of the strangest tragedies in the records of wildlife occurred at Niagara Falls.

The wild geese were migrating southward for the winter, and great flocks of them, wearied by the long journey from the north, settled down to rest on the quiet waters of the Niagara River above the falls.

At first slowly, then faster, the careless birds were carried toward the brink of the thundering falls.

On the very edge of the plunge each bird trumpeted wildly, and by a supreme effort of wings lifted itself from the collecting waters, and then, wheeling in triumph over the chasm, returned upstream to repeat the performance.

Like boys taking turns on a slippery slide, these birds by the hundreds kept up their dangerous sport.

Many of the players began to show signs of weariness, but they didn't stop.

Game wardens tried to frighten the birds away, but a strange fascination seemed to hold them there.

All night the swish of wings and the trumpeting of triumph or despair continued.

The next morning the lower parts of the Niagara River were strewn with the white bodies of those geese that in the darkness had misjudged the precipice or were too tired to lift themselves from the plunging waters.

Strange to say, this experience is repeated every year.

In varying numbers, The southbound flocks take up this fight with the Falls.

They're only geese, but how like them is our race.

1 generation after another repeats the dangerous game of sin and crime and war and plunges on over the Falls.

Yes, the message must be given to the millions, a message of gospel hope, a message of prophetic warning.

Our Savior said, Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

Go ye into all the world, is the loving Lord's command.

Let his banner be unfurled over every land Going into all the world With the cross to every creature Going into all the world to every creature, go ye into all the world, and with you, with you always.

Go ye to the souls that mourn with the gracious gospel call.

Tell how Christ their grief has borne, how he died for us.

8. Is Heaven For Real?- Choose Life

God's book, the Bible, still relevant in today's complex world.

It is written sharing messages of hope around the world.

The testimony of the Bible is that heaven is a very real place and that it is assured to those who want to spend their lives with Jesus.

John chapter 14, verses 1 to 3, share with us The heart cry of Jesus.

If it were not so, I would have told you.

I go to prepare a place for you and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself.

And where I go, you know, and the way you know." Thomas said, Lord, we do not know where you are going, and how can we know the way?

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life.

No 1 comes to the Father except through me.

If you had known me, you would have known my Father also.

And from now on, you know Him and have seen Him." Jesus is the way.

He is the only way to heaven and He desires to give us an abundant life.

In fact, in John chapter 10 and verse 10, Jesus says, I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.

The desire of Jesus is for each 1 of us to have a life of abundant living in Him that leads to eternal life.

He has made the provision for each of us to be rid of the guilt and shame of our sin.

He is the 1 who has made a way for us to be reconciled to Him.

The last book of the Bible is the book of Revelation.

And it tells the story of Jesus and his faithfulness to us to save us from our sin and make the path clear to heaven.

Heaven is for real and Jesus has done and is doing and will do everything he can to assure your place in heaven.

It is in this vein that Jesus is introduced in the book of Revelation.

And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth, to Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood and has made us kings and priests to be His God and Father, to Him be glory, dominion forever and ever.

I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

Jesus has always been and He always will be.

He stands in the midst of the lampstands in the book of Revelation which represent the churches.

He understands us and makes a way for us.

Jesus is pictured throughout the book of Revelation with different symbols and metaphors.

As the only 1 who can open the scroll for our redemption, he is pictured also as a babe in Bethlehem, but he is also pictured as the conquering king.

Revelation chapter 14 and verse 14 says this, Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat 1 like the Son of Man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

Jesus wants to save us and he has made a way for us to be in our heavenly home with him.

He is pictured again in Revelation 19 11.

Now I saw heaven opened and behold a white horse and he who sat on him was called faithful and true, and in righteousness he judges and makes war." Jesus is coming as our King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

In Revelation 21 and 22, He is the 1 who makes all things new for our new home in heaven with Him.

Jesus boldly states in Revelation 22, verse 7, verse 12, and verse 20.

That threefold promise that He is coming quickly.

But the key in all of this and the key for our success in this life is Found right in the midst of the book of Revelation Revelation chapter 12 and verse 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.

And they did not love their lives to the death.

Over and over again in scripture and especially in Revelation, Jesus is pictured as a lamb.

When you think of mighty animals, you don't typically think of a lamb.

However, the lamb is the victor in the book of Revelation.

Revelation 17 and verse 14 makes it very clear.

These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of Lord and King of Kings, and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.

Jesus wins and this is the profound message of the Bible.

And it reaches its pinnacle in the book of Revelation.
