11. A Day to Remember

Have you turned in your Bibles to Revelation chapter 4?

We've been studying everything that we've been studying in the context of the sanctuary.

Of course, this evening I don't think I'm even going to even refer to the sanctuary, not even once.

We're going to come back to the sanctuary.

This is a message that needs to be heard.

We need to understand what's going on here, and that's why I'm going there.

He had an appointment in England, in a city in England, but something must have happened as he was riding on the train and the train was delayed to some degree.

Now I don't know if you understand what that means, to have an appointment to speak.

I have appointments to speak all the time and I get really nervous about it.

And being late is not part of the equation, I'll tell you that.

And if you happen to be late when you're going to be speaking, you get really, really nervous.

So I can understand how this fellow, Thomas Huxley, was feeling.

And when he got to the train station, he jumped out of the train.

He just ran to the nearest cab, the nearest cab being, of course, a horse-drawn buggy in those times.

And so, he jumps into the cab, and he says, top speed.

And so the driver cracked his whip and the carriage went bumpity-bump down the road.

And so Thomas Huxley settled down into his seat.

He was on his way when suddenly he thought, I never told him where to go.

And the driver answered, no, but I'm going as fast as I can.

You know that people are like that today.

Rushing around at top speed, no time to rest, no time to smell the roses, no time to examine their lives, no time for God.

And yet, they don't know who they are, they don't know what they're created, why they're here, and they don't know where they're going.

Oh, friends, it would make a pile of difference if you did.

And I've got good news for you this evening.

Probably was, because I've been going to Poland since the late 90s.

So it must have been 12 years or maybe even 15 years ago.

I went to Poland and I had a series of meetings to do.

I was doing a week of prayer at Springs of Life.

And they had a lady there who was on staff there.

And she didn't want to come to the meetings.

And everyone told me she's really angry with God and she doesn't want to come to the meeting.

She could speak English and she was indeed very angry.

And I said, well, hey, listen, give it a shot.

I mean, come to at least 1 meeting and then after that you can decide whether you want to come back or not.

So she came to 1 meeting and she continued to come to all the meetings and she was tremendously blessed by the meetings that she attended.

And at the end of the meeting she gave me a stone.

A stone apparently that you can't get anywhere else but in Poland.

It's 1 of the most beautiful stones I've ever seen and I still have it somewhere in my house.

But anyways, it's there and I'd like to show you sometime.

And the pastor had decided that he and his wife would move to Springs of Life and they would become staff there.

So he drove his wife, he brought his wife to Springs of Life and they unloaded whatever they unloaded, their stuff, and they were going to become staff there.

And the husband said, okay, I'll go back and get the more stuff.

Just dumped his wife is really what he did.

He dumped her at springs of life and he disappeared, never came back.

And that wasn't the only tragedy that this lady had experienced.

The 2 of them had had a daughter together, and this girl rebelled when she became a teenager.

She rebelled against her parents, and she rebelled against religion, and she fell in, of course, as you would, with the wrong crowd.

These people that she fell in with taught her that we evolved from slime.

Now you've heard stuff like that, haven't you?

We live to die and that's the end of that.

And they began teaching her that the best way to avoid all the pain in this world and the hardships and the heartaches and the troubles and the disappointments was the disappointments that you find in this life, now you understand, was to end the life as soon as you can.

She jumped off a bridge into an icy river, and of course, she did not survive.

Now, if you were the mother of that girl, and you've lost your daughter to a pile of garbage like this, and your husband dumps you at a place like, well, the place was nice, but he dumped her, what would you think about God?" Ah, friends, you know, she didn't know what to think.

All she knew is that she was super angry, and by the end of the week, she was no longer angry with God and she had returned to her senses in this matter.

Can I tell you that you're created to a purpose?

Can I tell you that this business, that there is no meaning to life, is not true?

If you turn with me to Revelation chapter 4, Revelation chapter 4, that's where I am.

It gives us a little glimpse into the meaning of life.

And there are people there already who are redeemed, and they're in heaven already.

There's a few up there, and they're singing.

10. The Highest Form of Worship

The topic for this evening is called The Highest Form of Worship.

It's the tenth meeting that we're having together.

I'm again going to say that I'm happy you're here.

And there's some new faces, and I welcome all the new faces.

And if you have a difficulty finding your place in the Bible, it's page 844, if you have 1 of these Bibles that we're giving out to you.

And we're going to just take a moment for a little review.

The outer court, we've been studying, by the way, those of you who are new, we've been studying the plan of salvation through the sanctuary.

We've come to understand that God instituted this sanctuary model here on earth.

It's a pattern after the sanctuary that is in heaven, and God instituted that sanctuary for the purpose of solving the sin problem.

And We've been going through this thing back and forth and we've reviewed and reviewed and we just don't want to lose any sight or sight of any part of it at all.

And so again, just a little review tonight.

This part here and everything around the sanctuary, That's called the outer court.

And this is where we find salvation because here at the altar of sacrifice representing the cross of Calvary, a man may come, confess his sins on the Lamb of God and find himself justified, pardoned, forgiven by the death of Jesus Christ right there.

And so that represents the work of Jesus on the earth right there in the outer court.

And by the way, if you notice, around the whole sanctuary is a fence made up of white linen.

I really don't know how tall this linen was, but I do know this, and to me it's a wonderful thing.

When a man left the tents out here and he came with his lamb to the sanctuary entering through the door, When he went through the door, he was entering into Christ.

The whole of the sanctuary represents Christ.

And when a man walked through the door, the people, the onlookers, could see him go until he walked in through that gate, and then he would disappear behind white, representing the righteousness, the purity, the innocence of Jesus Christ.

Jesus said Himself, If any man will come to me, I will in no wise cast him out." And when we come to Him, He receives us, and He receives us in Himself.

And then when God looks down, what does He see?

And we ought to be able to see the same thing, right?

If you come to Jesus, now that I look at you, I ought to be able to see the same thing, right?

If you come to Jesus, now that I look at you, I ought to be able to see Jesus.

Well then, we move into the holy place of the sanctuary, which represents heaven, by the way.

And so we enter this by faith, because we can't get into heaven.

And the holy place of the sanctuary represents sanctification.

That's where we will find sanctification.

We can go to the altar, excuse me, the table of showbread, and there it represents Jesus as the bread of life, represents the Word of God, and it's trying to teach us to read the Bible every day.

Study your Bibles, and through it, you will find sanctification.

Sanctify them through thy truth, thy Word is truth.

And we could go to the altar of incense and there our prayers rise with the incense of Christ's righteousness made acceptable to God by His righteousness because our prayers would not be acceptable otherwise.

And on the other wall, this would be the South Wall, I think, yeah, the South Wall.

It represents the 7 churches and the number 7, symbolic, of course, represents all the churches of Jesus Christ.

Christianity from the time it began to the time it ends, and of course, we are the light of this world.

And if we will exercise, That's what I always come back to.

To me, this is where Christ has us exercise.

We come here, we find salvation over here, we find baptism, and then he gives us 3 exercises to do, to read our Bibles, to pray and to share.

And If we will read our Bibles and pray and share, then we will grow to become stronger and stronger Christians, and we will grow to be more and more like Jesus Christ.

Well, after that, and we've been going now into the most holy place.

We cross this curtain over here into the Most Holy Place of the sanctuary.

And this is what we've been studying lately.

And we've seen, and I'm sorry for those of you who haven't been here, but when we cross That curtain right there, we had a date set on that last night, and it was 1844.

At 1844, Jesus in heaven crossed from the holy place to the most holy place of the sanctuary, and he did that for a purpose.

To cleanse the sanctuary of His people's sins.

And so, during that time, when Jesus is in the most holy place of the sanctuary, it's a time of investigation.

It's a time when we are to search our hearts against the great standard of God, which is the 10 Commandments.

And so the Hebrews call that the day of atonement or Yom Kippur.

It's this final phase of atonement in which God attempts, by the work of Jesus Christ in the sanctuary, to purify His people from all their sins.

This is the impact, I would hope, that this kind of preaching has on all of our hearts.

We need to realize the day in which we live.

We need to realize what God is trying to do.

His intentions for His people are more than just forgiving us at the cross of Calvary and sanctifying us little by little through the Word and through prayer and through sharing, it is also time for the blotting out of sins so that Jesus can come, so that Jesus can cleanse the sanctuary, close the door and come as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

And reading it, just a cursory reading of it, you would think that it's talking about the first coming of Jesus or the second coming of Jesus.

It's talking about Jesus transferring from the holy place of the sanctuary into the most holy place of the sanctuary.

Verse 1, Malachi 3, verse 1, Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me.

And the Lord whom ye seek shall suddenly come." Notice where he comes now.

And we're talking about the temple in heaven.

"...even the messenger of the covenant whom ye delight in, Behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts." Jesus transfers in 1844 from the holy place to the most holy place of the sanctuary.

He's come to his temple to do a specific work.

And you can tell by the next verses that the work is really, really important.

And the angel is asking, whoever is writing this, is asking who shall be able to stand.

Verse 2, welcome, we're glad you're here, Trisha.

Verse 2, But who may abide the day of his coming?

You see the importance that God is putting on this move that Jesus made from the holy place to the most holy place.

For he is like a refiner's fire, he is like a fuller's soap." Remember now, he's cleansing the sanctuary, and so he portrays himself as a fuller.

"...And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he shall purify the sons of Levi and purge them of gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.

Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem, which represents the church today, be pleasant unto the Lord as in the days of old, as in former years." So in AD 31, Jesus died on the cross of Calvary.

In AD 31, Jesus resurrected and then ascended back to heaven and entered to minister into the holy place of the sanctuary.

And then we know that in 1844, he crossed into the most holy place of the sanctuary.

Jesus entered there into the final phase of His atonement and really the cry that He cries out to His people is, prepare to meet thy God.

9. The Longest & The Last Time Prophecy

All right, well, as you can tell, the title for this evening is The Longest and the Last Time Prophecy.

So those of you who know what the longest and the last time prophecy is, then I guess we won't be catching you by surprise.

But there may be some of you who need to understand this, who need to study it a little bit more closely.

I'll have you turn in your Bibles to John chapter 5.

As you know, and you ought to know, Jesus is the central figure in history.

There are all kinds of stories in the Bible.

Jesus is the protagonist and Satan is the antagonist.

And there is a great controversy going on.

As a matter of fact, when people write books, you know That's what they do.

They get 1 individual in their book, they make him or her the protagonist, and there's always an antagonist in the book, otherwise it would make for some boring reading.

Well, where do they get this idea that there always has to be somebody that's against you?

Well, I tell you what, it's because there is a great controversy going on.

We are living in the middle of a great controversy that's going on all the time, and that's where they get the idea, because it's a great story.

Well, We're living this story all the time.

This is page 943, for those of you who need to know.

Ok, verse 39, Jesus said, search the Scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life.

Jesus is addressing the Pharisees, the pastors of that day, and he says, you look at the Scriptures, because you think in the Scriptures you'll find eternal life.

Eternal life can be found in the Scriptures.

But these people, even though they thought eternal life was in the Scriptures, had divorced Jesus from the Scriptures.

They just did not recognize Jesus in the Scriptures.

So he says to them, Search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life.

Now which scriptures was Jesus talking about here?

Well, all of the scriptures, but actually the Old Testament, the New Testament did not exist in those days.

And so we already understand that the New Testament are really about Jesus.

Well, there was no New Testament then written, and so all that Jesus was talking about was the Old Testament, and he was saying, all of the Old Testament had to do with me.

Yes, Jesus is the protagonist in all the Old and the New Testaments.

When 1 third of the angels fell, Jesus became, guess what?

There's a lot of people, if you were to tell them that Jesus is the archangel Michael, they would say, well, that doesn't make any sense.

How are you going to prove that from the Scriptures.

And there's more than 1 way to prove that from the Scriptures, but I'm not going to take the time tonight to do that.

However, I would like to show you 2 verses in the Bible that gives us a hint that Jesus is actually Michael the archangel.

For as the Father hath life in himself, So hath he given to the Son to have life in himself, and hath given him authority to execute judgment also because he is the Son of God.

Marvel not at this, for the hour is coming in the which all that are in the grave shall hear his voice." Whose voice are we talking about here?

It's talking about the voice of Jesus, right?

And then verse 29, "...and shall come forth that they that have done good unto the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil unto the resurrection of damnation." So, you see the picture.

Jesus at the resurrection is going to call for, and the dead are going to hear.

That's a pretty loud voice, don't you think?

Jesus speaks and the people that are dead hear His voice.

1 Thessalonians, we go to chapter 4, and we're looking at verse 16.

Keep in mind, when Jesus comes, He will speak.

And when He speaks, the dead will hear His voice.

For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout..." Who's going to be shouting here?

"...the archangel and with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first." And so, the archangel and Jesus is 1 and the same.

We've got it right there, and that's just 1 proof.

So, here we have, from eternity, We're talking about Jesus now as the main figure in all of the Scriptures.

And when the angels got embroiled in the deception that Satan brought along, then Jesus became Michael the Archangel to deal with the situation.

In my mind, and there's not a lot said about this in the Scriptures, but in my mind, when the human race fell, Jesus came down and took on humanity to help us to deal with the situation we were in.

So, when the angels got themselves in trouble, he became Michael the archangel.

I wish I understood far more about this than I do understand, but that's the idea that I have in my head.

And then when the angels got embroiled in the big deception and the big problem.

On earth, when Jesus was here in his ministry, Jesus played the role of a prophet.

Okay, On the cross, he was the sacrificial Lamb of God.

When he ascended to heaven, 50 days or so after the cross, when he ascended to heaven, he became the high priest in the sanctuary.

After the close of probation at the second coming of Jesus, He takes off His priestly robes and He puts on His kingly crown and He returns as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Today, since His ascension, Jesus is the High Priest in the sanctuary.

Jesus is now in heaven and he is the high priest in the sanctuary.

Now of the things which we have spoken, this is the sum.

We have such a high priest who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven." Where is he?

Jesus is in heaven and he's the high priest there.

8. The Books Don’t Lie

Have you turned in your Bibles to 1 Corinthians 6?

And usually I have something to say before we read these verses, but tonight we're going to go straight into the verse.

There's books in heaven, and the Lord is recording everything you say, everything you think, everything you do, and the books don't lie.

Do you not know, and by the way, I'm reading from the King James, and what you have in your hand is the New King James, and by the way, the page number is 1015.
