Going to Hell on a Moped

My message this morning is titled, Going to Hell on a Moped.

Dear Lord, we thank you so much for your amazing grace.

Were it not for your grace, we would not be here this morning.

We want to thank you so much also for the promise of the Holy Spirit.

I pray that you would rain down your Spirit upon us.

I pray that you would speak to our hearts.

May each 1 of us hear a word from on high this morning.

I pray that you'd hide me behind the cross.

I have a very serious and strong message for you this morning.

To help you understand why I'm sharing such a strong message this morning, I would like to take you to Ezekiel chapter 33 this morning.

Please turn with me in your Bibles to Ezekiel chapter 33.

It says, again the word of the Lord came to me saying, Son of man.

Now throughout the book of Ezekiel, God refers to this prophet as the son of man 93 times.

Verse 2, Son of man, speak to the children of your people and say to them, when I bring the sword upon a land and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman, make him their what?

When he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head." So God has this watchman and if he sounds the warning and people do not heed the warning and they end up dying, then their blood will be on their own head.

Verse 5, he heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning, his blood shall be upon himself.

But he who takes warning will save his life." Verse 6, "'But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand." So friends, if the watchman is unfaithful and does not sound the warning, then the blood will be acquired by who?

Verse 7, So you, son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel.

Therefore, you shall hear a word from my mouth and warn them from me." God is saying, Ezekiel, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel.

By the way, for all of his churches, has God placed a watchman in his churches?

They are the pastors and they are the elders.

Here in America, in most of our large churches, we have a pastor or several pastors for each church, but that's not the way it is in most places around the world.

In a lot of places around the world, you have 1 pastor who has a district, and he may have anywhere from 5 to 10 to 20 churches, and the churches are run by the elders.

So in those places, the elders are the watchmen.

Verse 6, verse 8 that is, when I say to the wicked, O wicked man, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand." Is it important for the watchman to be faithful?

Verse 9, nevertheless if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.

Therefore you, O son of man, say to the house of Israel, Thus you say, if our transgressions and our sins lie upon us and we pine away in them, how can we then live?

Say to them, as I live, says the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live.

Turn, turn from your evil ways, for why should you die, O house of Israel?" If you forget anything else you hear this morning, I want you to remember what was just read here.

God says that he has no pleasure in what?

God wants all to be saved and that's why he says, turn, turn from your wicked ways.

In the book Amazing Grace, page 28, it says, To every minister the Lord declares, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel.

Therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth and warn them from me.

These words of the Prophet declare the solemn responsibility resting upon those who are appointed as guardians of the church.

And once again, who are the guardians of the church?

The pastor and the elders, stewards of the mysteries of God.

It is the privilege of the watchman on the walls of Zion to live so near to God and to be so susceptible to the impressions of his spirit that he can work through them to tell sinners of their peril and point them to the place of safety.

Here at South Center, do you want to hear only smooth things being preached Sabbath after Sabbath from the pulpit or do you want to be warned when destruction is coming?

At South Center, do you want watchmen who are faithful?

So friends, what I've shared with you thus far is simply the introduction to the message.

The message, once again, is titled, Going to Hell on a Moped.

I've got some really bad news to share with you this morning.

But I don't want this message this morning to be all doom and gloom, so I will begin with some good news and I will also end the message with good news.

The bad news is going to be sandwiched in between the good news.

The word gospel is the translation of the Greek noun euangelion, which means good news.

Turn with me in your Bibles to Romans chapter 1 verse 16.

The Apostle Paul says, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first, and also for the Greek.

Now do you know why Paul says that he is not ashamed of the gospel of Christ?

The reason he says that is because back in Paul's day there were people who were ashamed of Jesus Christ and they were ashamed of the cross.

Do you know who it was that was executed on crosses?

So back then there were people who were ashamed of Christ and the cross.

But Paul says, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.

In 1 Corinthians 1, verse 18, he says, For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.

The gospel of Christ is the power of God to solve for everyone who believes.

John 3 16 says, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

I'll be honest, I don't fully comprehend the width, the length, the depth, and the height of God's great love.

What you are seeing on the screen is the Amazon River.

It is roughly 4, 000 miles long, and at its widest point, the Amazon River can be 6.8 miles wide.

It has been said, the love of God is like the Amazon River flowing down to water 1 daisy.

The love of God is like the Amazon River flowing down to water 1 daisy.

Does that kind of help you understand how vast the love of God is for you.

God so loved you that he would have sent his only begotten son if it was just to save you.

In Desire of Ages, page 480, it says, every soul is as fully known to Jesus as if he were the only 1 for whom the Savior died.

And just a few paragraphs later on the same page, It says, the soul that has given himself to Christ is more precious in his sight than the whole world.

The Savior would have passed through the agony of Calvary that 1 might be saved in his kingdom.

For God so loved you, Neil, that he gave his only begotten son.

For God so loved you, Brenda, he gave his only begotten son.

6. Surrender: Prayer Practicum

Having information, all of the correct information, does you no good.

If you're just coming here to get some information, you can come out with all that and think, oh I got it because I noticed it.

If you don't know that, all that information, you'll say, well do you know God?

And at midnight, when it's the darkest upon the earth, gross darkness, darkness covers the earth and gross darkness is people, there was a cry made, you know, the midnight cry.

Then it's going to come with power just before it comes, with great power.

Then all, not just the wise, the foolish did too.

Now, trimming their lamps, if you've ever seen, it had lamps and I've had some oil lamps.

When you trim it, what you do is you cut off all the dross.

And when you cut off the dross then the light burns brightly.

But in order to cut off the draw spiritually, you have to have some power.

That means you were doing some wise stuff during the slumbering period, you weren't idle, you were doing what you were supposed to do in that period, and that was getting some oil in your vessel.

We're living on borrowed time and this time is to be used not being busy trying to convict people of their sins, but cooperating with God and agreeing with Him, those of you who have been through this, you know what it means to agree with Him, agreeing with Him while He convicts you of your sins.

And then when the choir comes, he cometh, we'll have the power.

That's when the ceiling comes and we won't be moved anymore.

That slumbering will be over because we will have done the work that God expects his church to do that he's waiting for.

Then we can get...then the gospel will go through all the world.

So quickly it will blow our minds and we won't have to spend millions of dollars for 3 or 4 baptisms.

Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps, and the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil, for our lamps are gone out.

It means they were going out, meaning even though you know the truth, when this time comes it doesn't matter.

The power won't be there to keep living the truth.

All that information, you can quote it like the Pharisees did.

They could quote it so good that they knew where the commas and the tittles and the dots and all that were.

Now, it says, now here is the message that Jesus told the story for and it's for us right here in this room.

He told the story for us because here's the message to the wise, those who are wise during this time.

But the wise answered and said, not so, lest there be not enough for us and you.

Go ye rather to them that sell and Buy for yourselves.

They're not talking about going to the local grocery store.

You have to go to the heavenly merchants to buy this oil.

And the message to Laodicea tells us who to buy it from.

Now I didn't have time, y'all should know the Laodicean message.

He says, first he says, you know, I know that you all say that you're rich and creeps with goods and have need of nothing.

And because of that, you think you have it.

He said, but I tell you that really, you messed up.

He said, because thou sayest I am rich and increased with goods, because I know the truth, I keep the Sabbath, I got all of that.

I need, matter of fact, I know all this, I need to straighten out them.

But you and I need to be dealing with our own person.

See, the more lights you set, because while you're doing this buying oil, the more you get that oil in you, the more the light in you shines and you can't hide the light.

You can't, even when you try to cover it up, like Jeremiah said, I'm just going to stop talking because every time it gets me in more trouble.

Then he said, it's like fire in my bones.

I have to say it because if you ask me a question, I am, oh Lord, I'm going to, that's why I tell people to say, now if you ask me the question, be prepared for the answer.

If you don't want to hear the, but if it's in you, If Jesus is that good to you, you can't help but talk about it.

When you know a good sale is going on, you tell her, girl, did you hear about that sale that's going on down there?

Because thou sayest, and knowest not, see we don't even know it.

Knowest not that thou art wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked because we're still operating on number 6.

The power of the flesh is just the power of God because we're not doing the 1 thing that brings the power.

Anyway, so now here's the counsel because we haven't been doing it.

All of this gold, faith and love, oh, you know, I love everybody.

But you cannot love, this flesh is self-centered.

I love you because you're connected to me or you treat me good.

And if you don't treat me good and you're not connected to me, I don't like you.

Don't feel bad because all of us are like that.

And if you don't know God, you don't know love.

I hear people say, well, I know some non-Christians that love better than Christians.

You're talking about fleshly, selfish love.

But in order to be selfless, true love, only God can give it to you.

We were made in this image originally, but when we stop, oh, I don't have time.

5. When the Sabbath Becomes God’s Seal

Heavenly Father, we're so grateful for your goodness and your love and your grace.

Now Lord, as we have always asked you before each meeting, pour out your spirit in an awesome way and guide us to the truth that will make us the GYC that will usher in your coming.

I'm going to have to do this manually because I don't have the clicker here.

This is session 5 and the topic is Surrender, the key to receiving the seal of God.

Now If you have missed some of the others or all of the other sessions, there are some key issues or key scriptures and quotes that we have used as building blocks to get to where we are now.

You might want to get the tapes or whatever they are offering here.

I don't know because I'm not involved with that, but they are taping every session and if what you hear here intrigues you and you want to know more or you have questions about it, want to make sure it's solid, you can get the other tapes or whatever way they're going to be selling them to these sessions to see.

But I am convinced that What I'm discussing here is the missing ingredient that we need to get into the kingdom.

Because we've been preaching this message for over 150 years.

And the church is not getting closer to God, it's getting further away.

And there is something missing in all these truths that we have that is key.

And what I've been sharing in these seminars, I believe to be the key, As a matter of fact, from my perspective, I know it is.

You have to hear and then let me decide in prayer whether you feel that way as well.

But listen with an open mind because it is something that we're not used to hearing.

And matter of fact, that makes me think about some of the quotes that I had before that possibly I need to share here, but basically I'll just say it.

And you can get now, Also the quotes, all the quotes I'm doing, I had handouts but they ran out.

And so you can sign up if you want to get the quotes.

Your name and your email address and they'll digitally send them to you and you'll have them.

Now I'm just going to go right into it, but I'm telling you what I'm sharing with you are not new truths, but a new revelation and unfolding of the old truths that will take us from 1 stage of truth to the next, because truth is progressive.

And we cannot get stuck at 1 level and say, well that's the way we've always believed it.

Well, then there's more truth, because evidently it is, that's why we're still here.

But the new truths, the new development, the unfolding of the old truths do not defy the old truth.

They just establish them to be greater and expand them.

And you will see that what I'm giving you is an expansion of the truths that we have held, but it's going to cause us to have to adjust our understanding of some things and as those have been following us realize we had to adjust our definition of what's good, we had to adjust our definition of what's righteous, We had to adjust our definition of what is sin because it expanded so that it makes room to understand this fresh and new unfolding of the truth.

This subject here is like we're in the college now, we start off at elementary, this is college or grad school.

So I say that to say there's some things that you're jumping in on if you haven't heard and you might be saying, well how did he get there?

This morning I wrestled with this thing because I flipped it all around, some of the Lord just impressed me, no, change it, and I've been trying to search, and I'm still in the process but God will work we will be working it on the run so be praying with me as we go through this.

Let's start here because yesterday I talked about the Sabbath and we had a fresh unfolding of that and basically what what to sum up what the Sabbath is, we have traditionally said 6 days we can do our labor, which is what the Bible says.

And the seventh day we stop that labor because the Sabbath is holy.

And the reason we stop that labor is because that labor is secular and it is what?

Now, but you know that's where we are, but that established a basis right there and the basis of truth that it established there is our work is unholy, But there's more to understand.

If our work is holy, unholy, then if we are going to remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy, then we cannot do any work anytime.

Because God wants us to walk in holiness 24-7.

And so he was dealing with the children of Israel that had just come out of Egypt, and he had to do baby steps and establish a basic truth.

And the basic truth is this, and in order to go to the next truth, you have to understand this.

If it's going to be holy, it has to be the work of the Spirit.

That's why the Bible says, don't walk in the flesh.

Those who walk in the flesh cannot please God, because the flesh does not know God, will never know God, does not trust God, and will never be converted.

And the Sabbath truth is, when fully exploded or understood, unfolded, will teach us and keep us walking in the spirit and never walking in the flesh.

And in order to understand that you must understand the missing ingredient which is daily surrender of the will, which is the substance of everything in the Bible.

And if you don't have that substance, your interpretation of the scripture, even though you'll be quoting it, will be off kilter.

The missing ingredient is surrender of the will.

Now, I don't know if I remember to put these quotes in here because I did this disbuffet and then ran down the ramp and to get here.

So let me, let me just back it up because I think I can get it there from there.

I'm thinking I can go there, but if it's not at the end of it I'm not going to keep going back.

The first step in the path of obedience is to what?

We've been jumping straight to obedience.

But a deeper definition of sin is not agreeing with God, not being in Jesus Christ.

The clearest definition of sin is walking in your flesh.

Anything you do in the power of your fleshly will or your fleshly grip is sin.

If it's not Jesus in you, that's why the title of this is Christ in me equals G-Y-C.

The only way we can be the generation of youth for Christ is that We live by the mantra, not I but Christ.

In order to live by that, we must allow Christ to crucify our flesh every day.

And the way we do that is by surrender of the will.

Because when we give Jesus control of our will every day, then he has our total life in his hands.

Because people say, I haven't surrendered all yet.

And then God, as you have fellowship with the Lord, his process of judgment, because he is light and in him is no darkness.

And if you have an intimate walk with God, Christ is in you, the law of the spirit of life, those of you that have been...the law of the spirit of life will reveal and shed light on the things that we have been doing in the flesh and even though we've called it holy, it's sinful because it was not God.

And that's why it says the Holy Spirit will convict you of sin.

Sin singular is walking in the power of your flesh and not in the power of God.

When Jesus, when God created us, he breathed into us the breath of life.

Now, folk, that breath of life was not just physical life because you know what when he gave life into the animals they had physical life.

My thing there I need to cut that volume down it's in my coat.

When he breathed into man, and then he said man was made in the image of God.

What makes us in the image of God in 1 Corinthians 6 tells us our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost.

When he breathed life, it was more than physical life.
