Lift up the trumpet and loud let it ring, Jesus is coming again.

Cheer up ye pilgrims, be joyful and sing, Jesus is coming again.

There's a call comes ringing o'er the restless waves.

We will spread the everlasting light with a willing heart and hand.

Giving God the glory evermore, we will follow his command.

Send the light, the blessed gospel light, Let it shine from shore to shore.

And let its radiant beams light the world forevermore.

Let us not grow weary in the work of love.

Let us gather jewels for a crown of gold.

My Lord has garments so wondrous fine, And myrrh their texture fills.

♪ ♪ Our Heavenly Father, Our heavenly Father, we pray for Thy blessing upon this broadcast and upon every listener.

A place where sin cannot molest, near to the heart of God.

The angel of the Lord encampeth round about us, round about us, round about the souls that fear him night and day.

Night and day O pillar of fire, pillar of cloud.

When danger hovers o'er our pathway, He will hide us, He will hide us, safe within the mighty shadow of His wing.

O pillar of fire, pillar of cloud, lead me, lead me every day.

Here now is HMS Richards, the Voice of Prophecy speaker.

1 day a gospel worker in Africa, walking down a hot, dusty road with a bullock cart and his helper, came to a little stream and decided to refresh himself with a swim.

He found a quiet pool, sat down on the bank, began to untie his shoes.

Suddenly he seemed to hear a voice say to him, don't bathe here, there's danger.

Startled, he jumped up and looked around.

He could see no cause for alarm in the pool and was sure there were no crocodiles in such a small stream.

Then he looked cautiously in the brush surrounding the place, finding nothing dangerous.

He returned to the pool and again began to take off his shoes.

Again the voice came, do not bathe here, there's danger.

He decided he must be imagining things, so continued to unlace his shoes.

His hands became so weak and trembling, he could not control them.

Jumping to his feet, he exclaimed, there is danger here, But I wouldn't believe.

God must be warning me." So he abandoned his plan to swim there and went farther up the stream where he bathed without incident.

As he retraced his steps down the river, he was still wondering about the warning he had received.

Slipping out through the brush, he was still unable to find any cause for danger until he circled around and came quietly to a spot where he could look down into the pool where he had first intended to swim.

There lying motionless on the surface of the water was 1 of the largest crocodiles he'd ever seen in Africa.

It was then he realized the danger from which God had saved him.

He tossed a rock at the old fellow and saw him disappear beneath the surface and set his trap again for any unwary creature that might step into the water.

Certainly this worker for God did not wait until Thanksgiving Day or even until prayer meeting night to thank the Heavenly Father for his watchfulness and care.

Every time since then that he has thought about the crocodile that missed its supper, he has repeated to himself softly and reverently the words of Psalm 34, 7, the angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

It was the teaching of the very earliest Christians that every person born into this world has a guardian angel.

I can still remember a picture that hung in our home when I was a boy.

It was of a little child coming alone to a dangerous crossing over a mountain stream along the side of a great cliff.

And there by his side in tender mercy was an angel guiding him with his hand.

The Bible says a great deal about angels, yet 1 may go to church for many years and never hear a sermon on the subject of angels.

Tens of thousands of Christians really do not understand who the angels are, their nature, their work, their origin, their destiny.

First of all, Let us state plainly that the angels are not the spirits of our beloved dead.

For the angels appeared as cherubim at the gate of paradise before man ever died.

The angels are intelligent, tangible, spiritual beings.

We read in Psalm 8 verse 5, For thou hast made him, that is man, a little lower than the angels.

And of our Redeemer the Apostle says, For verily he took not on him the nature of angels, but he took on him the seed of Abraham, that is the nature of man.

The angels were created by God before the creation of man.

This is clear from the fact that a vast host of them joined Lucifer, the high angel, in his rebellion against God and were cast out of heaven.

This shows they were also on probation the same as man.

Jude tells us that the angels which kept not their first estate but left their own habitation he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness, unto the judgment of the great day.

So then there are both good and evil angels.

That angels may appear as tangible beings is clear from the record in the 18th chapter of the book of Genesis.

3 of them appeared to Abraham and accepted his hospitality.

Read the very interesting story of it, how they ate.

They appeared as men but were actually angels.

And of this experience we read in Hebrews 13, 2, Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

While angels may appear as real tangible beings, they are still spiritual beings, For we read in 1 Corinthians 15, 44, there is a spiritual body as well as a natural body.

We may not be able to see God's protecting angels always.

Remember the young servant of Elisha, he was worried and he saw the enemies about the city in which they were living.

But the Prophet prayed, Lord I pray thee open his eyes.

And then the young man saw the hosts of God, the angelic hosts, protecting him and his master in time of danger.
