The Seven Trumpets- Part 2

This is going to get very interesting I think and this is where we stop this morning.

We were talking about the end of the Protestant Reformation and the protest of the princes and spire.

And I read you a little quote from that and then I told you how Charles V, who was the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire that was neither holy nor an empire, but at that point in history, But he did have a lot of clout and he had a lot of military with him and he promised to come back and to wipe out the reformers and their territories.

And it was not an idle threat, it was a real threat.

And so that's kind of where we picked up and I told you I would share a little bit how the Muslims figured into that.

But here's the text in Revelation 12, 9 to 7 if you're following along in your Bibles.

And this is how I saw in the vision the horses who had set on them and the riders, breastplates of color, of fire, of hyacinths and brimstone." So these Ottoman Turks now have taken, there's a two-phase part with the Ottoman Turks.

They invaded in 1299 the Byzantine Empire, They tormented them for 150 years and then after that they finally were in charge, took them over.

The next part is they conquer Constantinople which is huge, still a big issue in our world today.

And in all of this, you have the Reformation coming into play.

Alright, this is the Ottoman pressure, and by the way, this is a fairly clear view, I say clear view or agreed upon view by many historians.

This is an Adventist 1 here, but actually a lot of observations are this way in history.

Ottoman pressure on the Habsburgs, that is on Charles V and his relatives, was an important factor in the consolidation of the forces of the Reformation and their final recognition, observes a typical modern scholar.

In the 16th and 17th centuries, support and encouragement for Protestants and Calvinists were 1 of the fundamental principles of Ottoman policy.

There would have been no Protestantism had there been no Turk." So that's an incredible thing.

So you have the papacy, the papacy is now threatening, Byzantine is off the map, so you have the Western papacy, oh okay, I'll let you do whatever you need to do.

So you have the Western Papacy, Roman Catholic Church, and it has Charles V and has him under their control, and they are going to destroy Protestantism.

And so Charles V had actually gathered his armies.

He was going back to make good on his threat to the Protestants.

And as he got ready to do that, he was now threatened by the invasion of the Ottoman Turks.

So the armies that he was going to use to destroy the Reformation, he ended up having to use to fight the Turks.

And during that time period, the Protestant Reformation gained steam and became unstoppable.

Now, there's still the 30 Years War and still lots of conflict, but that time period made all the difference in the world.

That's why historians today say without the Ottoman Muslim Islam Turk, Turks, there would have been no Protestantism.

And if there had been no Protestantism, as I said earlier, there would have been no United States of America today.

So it's almost like around the papacy God drew a fertile crescent, if you please, and the Muslim Islam hemmed in the spread of the papacy.

It's very fascinating when you look at that map.

The Muslims were used as a judgment on apostate Christianity.

Now, just remember this morning, there are 2, the 7 trumpets come in 2 phases, judgment on pagan imperial Rome and then judgment on religious Rome, both Byzantine and the papacy because of their, and the Bible's very clear, they were worshiping idols and that kind of a thing.

So the Muslims were used in judgment on apostate Christianity, number 2, the pressure on the papacy made it possible for the Reformation to become unstoppable, and number 3, the Christian reformation grew, the Muslims decreased.

As the Christian, biblical I should say, biblical reformation grew, the Muslims decreased.

I'm going to come back to that in a moment.

And fell under the power of Christian nations.

In the time of the end, as apostasy once again begins to grip Christianity, the Lord appears to allow again Muslims, quote, stings and bites to plague the Christian world.

So you have the papacy, it's going to crush the Reformation, the Muslims come in, they're preoccupied with that, the Reformation becomes unstoppable.

As biblical Christianity grows, as the Reformation grows, interestingly, the Ottoman Empire or the Turkish Empire became known as the Sick Man of the East.

He became the Sick Man of the East and he became very, very weak and didn't have the power because England had become Protestant.

You have all of, much of Northern Europe that had become Protestant.

You have the rise of the United States of America that becomes Protestant.

And these become the dominant forces, military and civilized forces in the world at that point.

So then I think we're going to see, however, that here in the end of time, and this is my observation, that as in the United States, as the papal power begins to take over the United States, then you begin to see once again the rise of the Muslims.

And that's going on in front of your very eyes at this very moment.

So let's just go on here just a little bit and let's look at our timeline.

I keep referring to this because I want you to see how God is moving through time.

In 1377, of course, remember 1299 is when the Ottoman Turks invaded the Byzantine Christian Empire.

Then you have the rise of the Morning Star, the Reformation 1377, early 1400s, Hassan Jerome, and then you have 1449, the emperor at the end of the 150 year prophecy takes the throne only with the Muslim permission.

1453, Islam strikes like a snake, Constantinople falls.

1517, Martin Luther comes up with the Protestant Reformation.

1526 is a day we also ought to remember is the protest of the princes.

So that's almost 10 years later, 9 years later, after Martin Luther nails his 95 theses.

And then 1527, Islam moves against Europe, draws away Charles V.

It's pretty amazing when you look at that timeline and you begin to see all these developments that take place.

Now under this picture of the Protestant Reformation, this angel that comes down from heaven and his foot is on the sea and his foot is on the earth, but out of the Protestant Reformation is going to come something else.

So first of all you have to establish what comes first.

Let's go to Revelation chapter 10 verse 3 if you're following along.

And this mighty angel cries, cries with a loud voice as when a lion roars.

And when he cried out, 7 thunders uttered their voices.

John goes on, now when the 7 thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write, but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, seal up the things which the 7 thunders have uttered and do not write them.

Now why God put that in there, I don't know, but it does pique my curiosity.

I've talked to some friends that I have confidence that are good Bible students.

They think they may have some answers to that, but I am not confident to share any of my observations on that at this point, and we just have to leave it right where it's at.

But at any rate, the 7 thunders utter, and John said, do not write about them, leave them on, but he heard them.

So I think at some point, we may understand what that is about.

And the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land lifted up his hand to heaven.

When this angel takes an oath, this is rock bottom, so to speak.

And swore by Him who lives forever and ever." Notice the emphasis here.

Who created heaven and earth and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in that, are in it, that there should be delay no longer." I've had the privilege, I see Dr.

Pundit about this whole issue of evolution and the forces against you.

You're gonna get a chance to go to his seminar.

So, but this emphasis in the end of time is on God as creator.

Now, where do you hear that emphasis again?

You will hear it once again in the 3 angels messages where the in the context of the everlasting gospel where God is referred to again as the Creator.

And so He said to me, and I'm sure that should be delay no longer.

That word delay, it can also be translated time.

In other words, that there should be time no longer.

And we're talking really about prophetic time here.

It's not talking about the end of the world because the prophet, the picture of the prophet says, you must prophesy again after this.
