Description
On a hill far away, stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame. But I love that old cross, where the dearest and blest for a world of lost sinners was slain. The old hymn still as applicable today as before and sums up perfectly how a form of capital punishment designed to bring shame and disgrace was turned around and has become a symbol of hope, healing and new life. Calvary was the lowest moment at the time for Jesus, but has turned out to be the highest moment in the history of the universe, providing hope to all.
