Dr. Shin will explore what it means to work with a sense of calling. It is easy for the administrative and financial burdens surrounding healthcare work to lead to cynicism, disillusionment, and burnout. However, Jesus offers a powerful paradigm for work that can transform an ordinary career into a calling and infuse our lives with meaning and purpose, and it all starts with being in His presence. Come and learn what it means to be drawn into a higher calling in the practice of healthcare.

OBJECTIVES:

Identify elements that frequently lead to burnout in the practice of healthcare (specifically medicine and dentistry).

Illustrate the importance of a personal relationship with God in giving meaning and purpose to a medical career.

Compare and contrast the experience of working as a healthcare professional with and without a sense of calling.
